I watched our NSC director, Jake Sullivan, hold a press conference where he explained in detail what we know, what they’re anticipating and what the US and NATO allies are prepared to do. He then took questions for about an hour, answered politely and in detail and even asked press members to repeat themselves when he didn’t hear the question. No evasive answers, no spin, no snapping at a question he didn’t like. Just professional and informative with seriousness. Spoke at length regarding the diplomatic efforts being made by the US and NATO allies. Refreshing after listening to Sarah Hucksterabee, Kelly McAmeany and Pompouspeo.

but did he do the patented huckabee sanders point though? you know the one, with the palm turned up, wrist hyperextended, and index finger pointing awkwardly in the general vicinity of the reporter she was calling on?

I don’t think he pointed once. Nodded and called on the reporter by name. Honestly, it was impressive in that he explained things so that a lay person could understand. Things like NATO commitments, treaties, the why it’s an issue, the behind the scenes level of diplomatic efforts being taken to AVOID A WAR. Hmmm, think about that, the US trying to avoid a war. But also illustrating who the aggressor is and who has more to lose because of alliances and things like GDP, DEMOCRACY, etc. Oh, and history too.
The adults are back but they’re not the Freedumb Caucasions.
You ain’t going to war with Russia, they’ll kick your ass. The US got bogged down and lost in Afghanistan stands 0 chance against Russia and possibly China…in which both countries have been in overdrive creating a modern deadly military…
The only war US has been successful at since WW2 is Grenada …

America is fucking soft..You’ll get your handed to you…🍿but you guys ain’t doing shit…
and by the way, i see you banging war drums over here and then saying the us needs to be involved.
we are war weary. maybe you guys should go in and defend ukraine?
oh wait, if you are in nato and russia invades ukraine, your people are getting sucked into it as well.
Ukraine isn't a member, it's a partner. The legal obligation is not there.
I don't see Russia invading. The downside is too great. They will get hammered economically and it will turn into a guerilla war. Western Ukraine is not the Donbas region. There is a clear national identity. Russia will be a pariah state.
Ironically, that POS Putin has been trying to divide the west for years. He has now managed to unify it.
I hope I'm right and the invasion doesn't happen. It will be a major humanitarian crisis.
The US mostly sucks at assisting other countries in overthrowing regimes, unless there's oil involved or we get to use our nukes. To be fair, very few countries in the modern era are good at hostile ground invasions of another country.

Well, it depends on the country. The US took control of Afghanistan and Iraq back in the day pretty quickly. The problem was getting the regime change to stick.
I have said it so many times, but China and Russia are the reason there is so much unrest in the world. People love to hate on the USA, but NK is propped up by China, and Iran is propped up by Russia. China and Russia would be taking over countries left and right if no threat of retaliation by the US.
Yeah, the US isn’t perfect. But China and Russian do no good for the rest of the world.
Unfortunately the US gets its ass kicked in the war games simulations.

It's because we have no taste for civilian casualties, or our own. We have the weapons to wipe everyone out but we won't use them. I'm not saying we should, but we have the capability 100x over.

Russia should let Ukraine do what they want, they are afraid that Ukraine will get to become members of Nato but they shouldn’t decide over Ukraine. Peace is the only answer.
America doesn’t believe in peace. They are a nation founded on violence and try to bully the world through world through violence… Gotta keep the military industrial complex going…
They only spend 500 + billion per year on the war machine. Imagine using some of that money for actual good..
peace is not the American way…watch the evening news.

What happens if America bows out of the military industrial complex? Power loves a vacuum, and if you think the States are the only disingenuous military-involved actors, I have a bridge to sell you.

I prefer that he continues to melt down about it, all while supporting our gov't through his watching of the NFL, spending money on PJ. com and all of the other activities that feeds the coffers of the US military.
