    Anyone who saw the COVID vaccines as not being effective are absolute idiots. It preventing death or very serious illness IS the whole point of it. 

    It's totally not over - people are still getting COVID. Plus, I've still got long COVID, over 4 years after I had a mild case. But I'm not dead, and neither are my old parents (and for sure my dad at least would be if he hadn't been vaccinated).
