Oh wow. That sucks. In Canada... or in BC at least, we just go ask for one at any pharmacy and they hand it over. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -
It's not expensive though about £1 per test

Until about March of last year, yeah, you could get a couple of free ones every couple of months.PJ_Soul said:Tim Simmons said:Side note. Absolutely LOVE the FluAB/Covid tests. Love that they exist. Plus it makes me feel like a chemist or something.
I love them now that you don't have to stab your brain with the swab! I got the newest tests and was SO pleased it had been updated so you only have to go up your nose a tiny bit (of course the older ones had expired - everyone check your kits, and go get them replaced at the pharmacy if expired!... Does the US hand out free tests??).0 -
also expiration dates aren’t hard and fast. Most tests were good 8month- a year after the date.0

They aren't of course - however, since you never know if the age of the test could be causing a false negative or positive, probably better safe than sorry in this case. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -
I'm just going off the guidance the Biden Admin gave when they were giving away stock.

Weird thing to do if these things didn’t work.

I didn't mention the vax in relation to my dad. I mentioned covid itself.PJ_Soul said:HughFreakingDillon said:
slightly diminished, but fine. Not sure why you'd say unlikely. COVID is known to cause heart issues.PJ_Soul said:HughFreakingDillon said:
my dad had a heart attack shortly after he got covid. no way to know for sure, but it wouldn't surprise me if they were linked.PJ_Soul said:Anyone who saw the COVID vaccines as not being effective are absolute idiots. It preventing death or very serious illness IS the whole point of it.It's totally not over - people are still getting COVID. Plus, I've still got long COVID, over 4 years after I had a mild case. But I'm not dead, and neither are my old parents (and for sure my dad at least would be if he hadn't been vaccinated).Unlikely.Hope your dad's okay.
Again, just because of the numbers. Heart disease is the leading cause of death, while the rate of serious health issues caused by covid vax is minuscule. It is literally unlikely.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0 -
you call it logical based on math. sure, ok, but if you honestly want to base all your sociological decisions on math instead of ethics and human rights, enjoy your dystopian hellscape.PJ_Soul said:HughFreakingDillon said:
I wasn't saying they were equal in numbers, they are the same in viewpoint/consequence. I never said it was emotional. But I don't find it logical.PJ_Soul said:HughFreakingDillon said:
because you are potentially forcing a death sentence or life long injury sentence on others against their will. kinda the same thing you're accusing them of.PJ_Soul said:HughFreakingDillon said:
"extreme views" followed by "good reasons" are pretty contradictory. extreme views generally don't stem from good reasons.PJ_Soul said:I do, and I stand by it. I would also support children being removed from parents and given vaccines (and given back after). So yeah, my views on vaccines are extreme, but for good reasons. They get more extreme kind of as a mirror put up to anti-vaxxers getting more extreme.
I think this is literally the only time it's got good reason, because it's the only there where the actions of very, very few could very literally hurt and kill many, many other people. I would never say the same kinds of things about anything else, because such measures aren't called for in any other circumstance. The only reason my view seems extreme is because it would force people to do something they don't want to do.... but if that will prevent the death of many, many people, why isn't that reasonable? I think it is.
No it isn't, because of the numbers. My viewpoint is rational and logical, not emotional.
But those numbers make ALL the difference, and that is necessarily based on logic.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0 -
My apologies - I thought you'd said after getting the shot. Might covid have been responsible for your dad's heart attack? Absolutely. Coming from someone who is still suffering badly from the consequences of covid, I know that it can cause all kinds of health problems.HughFreakingDillon said:

I think you know me better than that. I don't base all my sociological decisions on math. I base my opinions about vaccinations on math and science, which IMO is 100% about ethics and public safety. I think it's unethical not to get vaxxed.Post edited by PJ_Soul onWith all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -

Be afraid. Be very afraid. Not just about a new virus but, about our government agencies hiding the truth.
There are live hearings being held as we speak (May 13, 2026 10:30 a.m. EST) that you can watch.0 -
And, by the way, no Democrats showed up at this hearing. Why? What are they hiding?
