How long before Ed postpones his tour?

Chicago is being cautious. They now require proof of vaccination or negative test for eating in doors and most entertainment venues. We will see if that helps. Florida just set a record for their new cases in a single day, worse than before we had any vaccine. This wave could very well be less severe and short lived. Even so, it still holds potential to overwhelm hospitals, and directly or indirectly kill thousands.
Music is important. I'm looking forward to these shows. If the shows get postponed due to safety concerns, so be it. Some things are more important.0 -

Per data models which have been very accurate in the past, omicron has peaked in NYC as of toady (12/27) and will peak nationwide as of 1/9/22. The tour is not getting postponed. The stock market, which is always forward looking, is at all time highs projecting minimal economic slowing. Live Nation stock is through the roof - if there was going to be some mass tour cancellations it would be reflected in their stock price. I really feel bad for all the doomsday people who watch certain news networks 24 X 7 who were the same people saying even Ohana wouldn't happen. Look at data on outcomes (versus cases), especially if you are vaccinated, and if you still think you should live in your basement well that is your right, but the health threat of this virus to vaccinated and boosted people so extremely minimal its time to use some common sense and not let certain government officials who have a vested interest in keeping people scared. Again, for those who want to stay home, please do - more tickets and better seats for me. Happy New Year and cheers to seeing at least 20 PJ / ED shows in 2022!92 - Phoenix; 93 - Mesa; 95 - Phoenix; 98 - Phoenix; 2000- Phoenix; 2003 - San Diego, Las Vegas, Phoenix; 2006 - Denver 1, Denver 2, Las Vegas, San Diego; 2009 - Chicago 1, Chicago 2, San Diego; 2013 - Phoenix, San Diego, LA 1, LA 2, Portland, Spokane, Calgary, Vancouver, Seattle; 2014 - Detroit, Moline, Milwaukee, Denver; 2016 - Ft Lauderdale, Miami, Tampa, Jacksonville, Wrigley 1 and 2; 2018 - Amsterdam 1&2, Pinkpop, London1, Milan, Padova, Rome, Prague, Krakow, Berlin, Werchter, Barca, Missoula, Chicago 1&2, Boston 1&2.0

However, being cautious doesn't necessarily mean hiding in one's basement. I go to work. I spent Christmas with family. I go to the grocery store. I run errands. I don't even have a basement. What I've chosen to do is not hang out in crowded bars, restaurants, theaters, etc while the pandemic is spiking. I've also chosen to wear a mask in public places, and maintain distance from people when possible.
I can't speak to the vested interest of public officials, except that they seem to have a vested interest in the economy returning to a pre pandemic state. Most local officials seem to not want to have ominously high COVID numbers in their areas.0 -

Not sure if the whole tour will get cancelled/postponed, but I can see the tour dates shifted in reverse order, or the NY/NJ shows postponed all together. That's not doom & gloom: that's reality.

The govt has a vested interest in keeping people scared? Your post is cringey at best. Maybe the reason the pandemic is going strong is because of these mass gatherings and people being in these indoor tight spaces. I’m glad your happy about having better seats at a show, but there is bigger priorities right now, like trying to keep people alive. Your post comes across as ignorant. You got fools using fake vaccine cards and don’t give 2 shits if they infect anyone.0

I have been to indoor and outdoor events, amusement parks, vacations, airports, and go to work in an office every day, have my kids participate in school, and shop in stores, and I follow the common sense things that has been consistent through the pandemic: wear my mask indoors, give people space, and wash my hands. I got the vaccines, and I have never felt like I have been exposed to the virus because I take these precautions.
So go to these shows, have fun, and do what makes you feel safe. If that means staying home, then do it. But life comes at you once, so don't live in fear because your "leaders" told you to do something. You know how this works by now, its been two years.0 -

Honestly, what I want to know is where the hell this "people are still hiding in their basement" mindset is coming from. OANN? Fox? InfoWars?
I've been out and about for the vast majority of the year in crowds.
Yes. We were supposed to stay home last year. Is this just another case of conservatives being behind the times? Many of them were the ones who got upset when Hillary wore pants and who get upset with things like gender-neutral lifestyles. So maybe it is conservative hype that "OMGZ! People are still scaredy-cats!"
Because everyone was a bit protective. Last fucking year.Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -
