I don't own a gun, nor does my wife nor my 10 year old daughter. I'm sure we are in the minority. At 40 having lived in some really rough neighborhoods in my younger days and never having needed a gun or having been so afraid I would justify getting one, I feel the best thing to do is go with what works which is not owning a gun.
You can make choices for yourself, as an adult...but your ten-year-old child doesn't have a gun? What kind of parents are you? You're lucky I'm not a mandated reporter or Child Protection would be on their way.
The majority of people I’m aware of don’t secure their guns. Having a gun in the house is by default, the ten year old’s gun. I’ve been in houses before with guns loose on counters etc
there is no law I’m aware of that deals with gun storage. There should be
in 21 states kids 12 or younger can hunt alone, literally by themselves. They aren’t old enough to drive there but you can drop them off and leave them with their gun. So a ten year old with a gun is absolutely nothing CPS cares about . In Texas you have to be 9
If you were born on or after Sept. 2, 1971, and you are:
Under 9 years of age: You must be accompanied. Accompanied means: By a person (resident or non-resident) who is at least 17, who is licensed to hunt in Texas, who has passed hunter education or is exempt (born before Sept. 2, 1971), and you must be within normal voice control.
Age 9 through 16: You must successfully complete a hunter education course or be accompanied.
I hate to pull a "meanwhile, in Canada..." moment here, but I would just like to say that I have only seen a gun in the possession of a civilian once in my entire life. The US gun culture is INSANE. I'm not sure if Americans really appreciate just how nuts it actually is.
Other than a gun range or gun show, the number of civilians I’ve seen with a gun are probably in single digits. I’m sure a lot conceal carry, but seeing open carry is pretty rare.
Cooling off period? Can't have that. Won't do any good. Nothing can be done. Thoughts and prayers, prayers and thoughts.
Gun shop owner: There's a five-day waiting period. Homer Simpson: Five days? But I'm mad now!

Come on guys....now is not the time for politics. We need to wait until there's a 3 day buffer between mass shootings. That is your window. Take advantage of it because it will close quickly.

I was actually responding to them saying they go to people's houses and see their guns lying around, lol. Me, I wouldn't be surprised if I've never been in a home with a gun in it, left out or otherwise. I literally don't know a single person and have never known a single person who owned a gun. The one time I did see someone with one, it was a total redneck douchebag in a camp sight, and everyone was scared of him.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata
1) isn't he also wrong? I thought that it was actually the opposite, that republican controlled cities had the worst crime. 2) either way, it should be obvious to anyone with a few brain cells that the more dense an area is, conservative or liberal, the more crime there is going to be. DUH

Yeah the "liberal city crime" shit is just another example of complete ignorance. Those stupid fuckers always use the Chicago gun ban argument as if people can't buy a gun 30 miles away in Indiana and carry it to Chicago.

"Democrats, your ideas are shown to get people killed." Right- fewer guns kill more people. More guns save lives.
What is this guy? The Mayor of Upside Down Town*?
(*A kids book by Frank Emerson Andrews where everything is upside down- children work while parents play, retailers pay people to take their goods, flashlights turn a room dark, etc.)

a children's book about child labour? surely republicans have had that booked banned by now?
