Pearl Jam could announce tomorrow that all shows for the foreseeable future are cancelled and I still wouldn't be interested in buying a ticket for Ed's shows. Apples, oranges, and a business I am less and less enthused about supporting.
Honestly, I think it's less that they think it'll impact ticket sales and more that they don't want to have to deal with Ed's tour and the shit-storm that's going to ensue after the tour announcement.
"I'm a lucky man, to count on both hands the [shows I've done]. Some folks just have one, others they got none..."
I’m not the biggest fan of ballpark shows, but lock me in as a definite +1 for a night or two at Camden Yards

Vedpunk is probably right - no news until after EV tour. Not that I think that many people will buy EV tickets over the next week for the sole reason that they don’t know the specific PJ dates. At least it’s only another week.
Camden Yards would be an interesting show. If that is planned then they really must take care of people who had RFA seats.
I have recently noticed on TM that some venues now have the PJ TBA placeholder at the end of the list towards the fall, whereas others still have it in March, where it has been for a year. I’m wondering if that’s a guide to what’s spring and what’s fall, and if the placeholder date - on or about 3/7 - is the announcement date. It’s obviously not the show date.

Has anyone requested a refund recently for US shows on Ticketmaster?
Yes. I refunded my Oakland tickets a couple weeks ago.
How did you go about requesting the refund? Do you have to email? I don't see any option on the TM site.
If you still have the postponement email from March 2020, the instructions were to reply to that email for refund information. I have no idea if that still holds true.
I think it matters if it was face to fan or public sale tickets too. I do not have the option for public but I do for face to fan. This is Canada though

Seems too random to mean anything but FWIW the shows still showing March TBA (see my theory above) are MSG, Quebec, Nashville, Denver, Phoenix and LA.

just got an email from 10C trying to sell tickets for EV in LA next Friday. Never seen something like that before. Tells me pj tour announcement has been held back and no announcement until after as Vedpuck says. Pretty logical to me. So Feb 28 sounds like the day.

My email about tickets being available came from Ohana Fest. If I was anywhere near LA I would go. I went to the second night at Chicago and loved it.

It will either be the 28th, before the 28th, after the 28th, the 30th or something else. I am sure of it.
How mad are people going to be when new shows are added and their show they paid for 2 years ago is 8 more months away?

Many will be upset, but many will also be thrilled to have any shows back at all. And if any shows are added, anyone near those markets are going to be very happy.
So I think the excitement will overshadow any anger. The only thing that will continue to anger the masses is continued nothing-ness.

It would be great if they announced the rumored spring and fall shows at the same time.
They will never do that. Will want the east coast people to fly west for leg 1 and make as much money as possible. History speaks volumes how they maximize ticket sales.

And they may need it. From September 2021- June 2022 they will have had 10 shows (Ed/PJ) in Southern California.
