This ground has been covered before, but do not discount Pearl Jam's relationship with and consideration for its crew in their decision to not slap together a last-minute (by their standards) '21 tour. Not just to avoid putting anyone in harm's way, but also out of deference to the other plans they might have in place.

My impression is that PJ's recent touring schedule - with entire years off and a leisurely pace of shows - is something they do partially (definitely not entirely) for the benefit of their crew. My guess is that they let the crew know that 2022 is an "on" year and they can go ahead and make other plans for 2021.

LOL, this is a joke right?  PJ's crew only makes a living when they are working.  Less shows = less $.

"SHN and Ohana are the only shows PJ will play in 2021" or "We are working on adding additional dates for 2021..stay tuned"...that's all I would like to know at this point.  Too much?

"They only make a living when they are working" is not the same as "they only make a living when they are working for Pearl Jam."

This.  Would be nice to know if they are even *considering* it.  If not, we could all move on and complain about how they structure next year's dates.

They may be working on additional dates, but they aren't going to tell us that until the contracts are signed. I don't really blame them because things do change and we as a fanbase are nuts. But they should give us some info about the 2020 dates, even if it is only that they are working on rescheduling them.

Yeah I cannot blame them for withholding unverified plans or desires considering what this fan base will do with a morsel of information.

exactly. if they announced "we're working on it", threads would pop up asking for hints because "holidays/kids/obligations" etc etc. it doesn't matter what they do. people here are nuts (in a passionate way) needing to know as much info as possible yesterday.

Comparisons are so dumb. Two different bands. Pj hasn’t been a very active band for a long time now. Merch? Yes. Very active. Concerts, music? Not so much.

But I’m curious if PJ got the call to open the garden instead of FF, would they have accepted?
Considering Jeff's comments from last week, I'd say that is a resounding no.

In a completely unscientific, uninformed opinion, I would say that Mike and maybe Matt are the only ones that would accept.  But I could be way off too.

Remember Mikes comments a little before Gigaton?

Twenty One Pilots playing the LA Forum the weekend after Ohana with small club shows during the week
That could make for some back to back weekend fun and a nice week trip

Anyone else going for Verified Fan Twenty One Pilots tomorrow?

I have signed up for Twenty-one Pilots. My son is a big fan. Looking at Atlanta. Interesting tour, four nights in each town. Each venue is different from 500 capacity to 15,000+ arenas.

They’ve been a top 5 band for me the last 6-7 years.  My brother tried for Columbus but I haven’t heard if he got in yet.  I’ll either have to fly to Boston or just back it up against Ohana most likely

Got in for the verified fan sale for Tabernacle and State Farm. Crossing fingers tomorrow goes well and Tabernacle tix is the outcome.

Nice! I had hoped Center stage or one of the other smaller venues, but I did get in for State Farm.

Mentions of pitbull and twentyone pilots should get you banned from this thread LOL...there are so many tours being announced right now, we get it.  The only thing that matters is when are the boys making up the 2020 dates! Spoken from a lucky one with Ohana tix. Fingers and toes crossed.

Totally! Really just can’t wait for PJ! Nashville and St. Louis have been burning a whole in my iPhone foe awhile now!

Twenty-one Pilots not really my thing, but the things we do for kids. Could be worse!

Here are the Pitbull tour dates for 2021 just announced, since we are no longer discussing Pearl Jam in this thread, but every other musical act. Look at all those dates. Why can't PJ more like Pitbull?  Surly if Pitbull can tour, so can PJ.

    This weekend we rock Portland

Sounds like someone volunteered to make a 2022 rumour thread!

Still holding out hope here 2021 has some more to give.

I'll admit it - I saw Pitbull once and it was pretty fun. Not my taste musically, but it was a fun and entertaining show regardless.

Selfishly, I wish the band wouldn't waste their remaining prime years of touring while they're still hitting on all cylinders.  They aren't getting any younger but can still perform at a higher level than 95% of other bands.  Too many inferior live bands out there touring constantly, spreading a scripted, mediocre rock show.  Didn't Ed once say, the band and their songs are now bigger than just them?  Come on guys, its time to restore order and dominate the live arena again!  You got some, and we need it!
