I would think that it would be easy for them to reschedule for the spring, so I'm hoping the delay is the band looking at squeezing in some or all of those dates this fall. I think if spring 2022 were certain (like summer 2022 for Europe), we would have had an announcement.
That's what I was thinking.  If they aren't quite ready to add the spring 2020 indoor shows in 2021 due to safety concerns/booking constraints, etc, it would be great if they could add some outdoor shows around the fests.  But then people could get upset if there are new dates/venues/cities when they still didn't make up the old ones.  Certainly a lot to manage.

Ill take what I can get and cant wait for whatever we get in the fall (assuming we stay on track)

I think the people hanging around this board (and don’t get me wrong, I count myself in this) are the only ones crazy enough to think the band should be making announcements about things that aren’t going to happen. We get ourselves all whipped up with rumors and speculation and then get frustrated when the band doesn’t confirm or deny. Meanwhile out there in the regular world there’s no announcement because there’s nothing to announce.
    Camden 2 2006, Newark 2010, Barclays 2 2013, Central Park 2015, MSG 2 2016, Wrigley 1 2016, Rome 2018, Prague 2018, Asbury Park 2021, EV & Earthlings NYC 1 2022, MSG 2022, Louisville 2022, Dublin 2024, MSG 1 2024, MSG 2 2024

The difference being most other acts cancelled shows or at least dropped new dates - even if the new ones also have been postponed. PJ's Europe dates were given new dates - the NA tour has been quiet for 15-16 months, but with NHL/NBA scheduling making it more difficult to plan a simple "see you in 2022!" wouldn't hurt. And with all the other bands touring I'm sure it's only getting more and more complicated.

I just received an e-mail from Vivid Seats advertising Toronto Blue Jay tickets at the Roger’s Centre starting July 16th.  Another clue that the border might be opening sooner then later.
My guess is the border opens around the July 4 weekend and no earlier. The government was talking august but I think it gets pushed up

The border won’t reopen before September 6.

Riot Fest single day lineup gets announced at 10am CST today. Should confirm what day PJ will play SHN since Smashing Pumpkins are playing both on the same weekend.

Is anyone holding tickets for other postponed shows that haven’t been rescheduled? PJ is the only one I’m waiting on.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

I do what I can, for the good of the people.

RF does have a Friday, so the announcement may not help, but we shall see.

    Smashing Pumpkins Friday night.
So, that doesn't help figuring out PJ unfortunately.

Can't imagine Avett Brothers closing out the fest. Sunday seems likely for PJ.

Pumpkins Friday night at Riot Fest. SHN is only a two day.
So Pumpkins will either play back to back nights, or a day off leaving PJ for Saturday. Who knows.

You'd think Pumpkins would use Saturday for travel and play SHN on Sunday, leaving PJ for Saturday, but who knows.
    This weekend we rock Portland

Yeah, it makes sense to do it that way. Also would selfishly love PJ for Saturday night like most of us.

MSG just announced Billie Eilish for feb 2022. Tickets on sale this month. If PJ playing MSG in march/April 2022 as was planned last year would imagine we would hear soon.

They've never given that kind of advanced notice for US dates.

I know. Not expecting an official announcement Thinking rumors. And you start narrowing down potential dates between sports and concerts already being announced.

I’m just hoping that they give a few months notice. I know they don’t normally give much advance notice but I have NYC/Baltimore tickets and the border is still closed and we don’t have second vaccinations here. At least Canada is close behind but what about other international travelers?

Also if they reschedule some dates this fall and others later then we need time to rearrange vacation plans.

My guess is Spring 2020 postponed shows are rescheduled this Fall along with adding a couple of Shows in Seattle's new Arena.  One question would be the status of rescheduling the Canadian Shows due to Covid19 protocols.

Home of the Phaithful Philly it’s been 5 years now cuz
Philly dates are coming I’m sure. They are long over due. I’m thinking it might not be until 2022 though.

The fall 2020 tour was supposed to hit Pittsburgh because they couldn't make it work for spring 2020. They had one NYC date scheduled for spring 2020 and it was only one due to a solidly-booked MSG. (I guess the other arenas weren't options.)

Fall 2020 dates in Philly would have definitely made sense.

I think fall 2020 was supposed to be "swing" states before the election. I believe there were supposed to be shows in PA, WI, FL and probably NC amongst other states.

I agree. I definitely think Philly in fall 2020 would have happened. My guess would have been two Philly shows, Probably two New England area shows, probably another NYC area show or two like Brooklyn or north NJ, and probably a DC/VA show.

I agree. Pj Sunday. Year 3 of the fest and closer is always the biggest act. Btw is there any way Bruce doesn’t show up. I’m putting the odds at 90%.

Lots of Bruce connections to this show… Patti is playing the festival, Danny Clinch is his buddy, friendly with Ed, and the show is in his adopted hometown.

Well if they need to sell the remaining tickets just add him to the lineup and it’d be taken care of right away.
