I don't know how else to explain this simple math yet everyone here is blaming the Republican party when it was ALL of the Democrat votes that made this happen. This is clearly the fault of the Democrats who sided with someone like Matt Gaetz, whom you all mock, yet your party sided with him. If Democrats didn't want chaos, they wouldn't have sided with 8 Republicans. The math or common sense couldn't be any clearer.

This message board is nothing but an echo chamber for the left.
    LOL...you really don't understand politics
    You really don't understand math.
Nor do you. The repubs hold the majority in the house and could elect a speaker on their own but their speaker candidates are such dumpster fires and beholden to POOTWH that even they can’t stomach a vote for them. Here’s an idea, maybe those 22 repubs who voted against Gym should switch parties and let the dems elect Hakeem? Just a thought
The dems knew what they were doing when they sided with the 8 Republicans. They knew the search for a new speaker would be a dumpster fire and voted McCarthy out anyways.
Do you really think you can sell this lame argument here? The GOP is an absolute fucked up mess. Deal with it.
Did the Democrats vote to oust the speaker knowing full well that it's going to be difficult to find a new one? How many Democrats voted for this compared to Republicans? It is simple math.
It is maga who nominated far right extremist wackos who do not appeal to most people outside the Trump cult base. This, in turn, is why you did not get your red wave last year, thus giving you the slimmest of majorities this year.

It is maga that took 15 tries to elect a speaker in January...ensuring him to be the weakest speaker in history as he had to concede everything to get the job, including a rule where only ONE member of congress could call a vote to vacate his speakership.

Shockingly the same maga Republican who demanded that rule is the one who invoked it, which has lead us to the current chaos you are blaming on.....the Democrats somehow. lol.

Why in the fucking world do you think Democrats would even consider voting for a maga Republican for speaker? In what universe would that make sense? Beyond foolish thinking here.

Maga created this mess. It is not the Democrats responsibility to bail them out of political jail. They own it. It is fun watching magas twist and turn themselves into pretzels with these excuses though.
Democrats sided with Matt Gaetz to oust the speaker. That's a fact.

McCarthy broke his promises to the GOP about becoming speaker. Some decided to hold him accountable for it. We have a branch of government that's completely shut down now which hurts all of us.

You mean the same government the GOP was already shutting down and the same one McCarthy was floundering to get anything done while in control? Hmmm, so democrats should have voted to keep the guy not doing his job, reneging on agreements and blaming them publicly and also the one you say broke his promises to the GOP? Right, because then the GOP could also blame democrats. It's literally all they do, even when they have the power. There's no scenario where you wouldn't be blaming the democrats right now, because the GOP can't govern.
    It's a hopeless situation...

Uh huh....okay, you seem to be having a hard time with this. Let's try and keep it simple for you. Do you dispute anything I said?
McCarthy broke his promises to the GOP about becoming speaker. Some decided to hold him accountable for it. We have a branch of government that's completely shut down now which hurts all of us.
If you're not going to attempt to have a reasonable conversation and answer my questions, I think we're done here. Hence, I think you know what you are spewing is bullshit but just can't bring yourself to admit it.
"Why in the fucking world do you think Democrats would even consider voting for a maga Republican for speaker? In what universe would that make sense? Beyond foolish thinking here. "

I am talking about voting the speaker out, not in.

    I answered your question.

MAGA cult just can’t admit when they are wrong they have to blame someone else! It’s the way their leader has always done it, don’t admit that’s their motto! Remember 2010 when Obama’s Democrats got their asses handed to them midterms? He was the 1st to admit it by stating that was a shellacking!

Who initiated the vote? If the GOP is stupid enough to put McCarthy on the chopping block then they deserve it. You can't tell me that the GOP wouldn't have done the same to Pelosi if the Dems were stupid enough to put her up for a vote. It's politics.
I would blame the GOP had they done the same thing to Pelosi. Politics are stupid but we should still hold our own parties accountable for their mistakes.
And the dems did hold the GOP accountable because they made the mistake and can easily rectify. You know why? Because they have the majority.
Democrats didn't hold the Democrats accountable.
Since when? Do you actually believe what you post or are you playing devil's advocate?
Democrats knew that this would shut down this branch of government and followed through with it anyways.
If the GOP couldn't govern, why do they hold the majority? If Democrats could govern, the GOP would never gain control of anything and vice versa.

You are talking about voting FOR a speaker. I'm talking about voting OUT the speaker. These are two different things that keep getting confused somehow.

To answer your questions: In asking Democrats to support their opponents to elect a House Speaker, do you admit this is literally the most pathetic excuse of governance that the Republican party has ever presented, and a consequence of its own selfishness, incompetence, and inability to lead? Trying to work together is not inability to lead. It is the opposite. Do you admit your side is struggling to decide who gets the keys to the clown car? The US Government as a whole is a clown show. I'd rather the GOP argue until they get it right instead of just electing the next person in line.

Democrats voted for one of their own for House Speaker, as Democrats and Republicans have done during House Speaker elections for nearly 100 years (the entire history of the USA with two major parties). In that entire time, not once did a party require the help of the opposing party to successfully elect a Speaker. That's a fact.

In asking Democrats to support their opponents to elect a House Speaker, do you admit this is literally the most pathetic excuse of governance that the Republican party has ever presented, and a consequence of its own selfishness, incompetence, and inability to lead? Do you admit your side is struggling to decide who gets the keys to the clown car?
As usual the accusations are in reality, projections.

They voted political arsonists into office and are now crying that the other side is letting them burn it down.

    Pathetic is right.
If Democrats didn't suck at their job, they wouldn't have lost control of the house to the GOP. For some reason, Democrats can't admit to this.
“Suck at their job.” Yea, passing legislation that benefits middle Americans, providing health care to 44 million Americans, unemployment below 4%, no US service members coming home in body bags of late, and not one repub can take credit. Yea, dems sure do suck at their job.

The cult has a firm grasp.
Even after all of those great accomplishments, they still lost the majority in the house and are at risk of losing the White House to orange man next year, even if he's serving as President behind bars.
“After all those great accomplishments?” So you acknowledge the dems don’t “suck at their job?”

You still going to vote for POOTWH? Knowing what we know or do you not believe any of the allegations? Please explain and list POOTWH’s top ten accomplishments in order of priority for you personally. I’m just trying to understand the third vote of yours.

208 Democrats sided with 8 Republicans to vote McCarthy out. 210 Republicans voted against kicking McCarthy out.

100% of Democrats voted to kick McCarthy out. 4% of Republicans voted to kick him out.

Got it, no admission, no accountability. Democrats and Republicans will continue to do what Democrats and Republicans have done in House Speaker elections for 100 years - and if Republicans fail given the same reality and conditions of other House Speakership elections, they're irrefutably incompetent at leading. No one gets to drive the clown car because of that.
