Agreed, the mission of division is almost complete once the violence starts with one group against the other it will be a war! Election or not ..brianlux said:I'm starting to think the whole current civil rights movement ,and the aim of achieving equality and fairness, and an effort to resolve the ongoing issues of racism has begum to derail in a big way. With the death of John Lewis, we have lost one of the great civil rights leaders- a man with the energy, intelligence, leadership abilities, and commitment to do great work toward moving things ahead in the right direction. And before him, gone are the others who possessed similar qualities- Martin Luther King, Paul Robeson, Medgar Evers, Barbara Jordan, Stokely Carmichael, among others.Today, we have a few remaining folks who fill those shoes, but few that stand to tall. Currently, it seems like there is more disorganization and confusion as to how to achieve the goal of civil rights, and an organization- Black Lives Matter- that seems to be a fractured body with poor direction and weak leadership. There are various reason for that- sensationalist "news" media, infiltrators, unfocused anger, and, of course, the ongoing resistance from white supremacists. It's very difficult and disheartening to have grown up in the well focused times of civil rights and watch the whole thing basically become a confused clusterfuck. It's not that everything was perfectly well orchestrated in 1950's through 1970's Civil Rights times, but it sure was a hell of a lot better focused and organized. I don't see how this is going to end well.jesus greets me looks just like me ....0

I don't see how this is going to end well.Exactly, J.I saw an example of this on FaceBook Friday. There was a demonstration here in Placerville with BLM supporters on one side of the street and counter-protesters on the other side. It's unclear how the shit got stirred (both sides blame the other), but after awhile the two sides were in each others faces yelling and screaming at each other. I'm obviously in agreement with supporting civil rights and ending racism, but all my years, I have never seen once anyone change their mind or behaviors as a result of someone being in their face yelling and screaming. It only escalated. Eventually, there will be likely be greater violence. What would make more sense is better education- educated people are less likely to be bigots. Better legislation probably comes into play as well although I don't know how we could legislate racism away other than protecting voters rights and ending gerrymandering."It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0

I still don’t think just painting over BLM is a hate crime even for a white person. Unless they paint some hate message after painting over it.PJPOWER said:Black lady pouring paint on BLM street “mural”? Still a “hate crime”?

Is BLM even associating with this anymore? Looks like a sea of privileged white “anarchists” and their moms, which actually makes perfect sense!mickeyrat said:soooo first it was Wall of Moms linking arms to protect protestors from the keystone kops. then tear gas was used on them. Now PDX DAD POD shows up in force with leaf blowers and hockey sticks. Still not convinced. Seems like a guise from what I can tell. I assume there are a lot of basements and Hot Topic stores around Portland that stink of teargas and pepper spray these days.Post edited by PJPOWER on0

https://apple.news/Aqo9cJzDMQa64H4NR2Mxi3wKind of hard to say what's up here. It does look like police brutality but on the other hand, is (as the Apple news article state) the guy was weaving through isle, hitting carts, playing loud music and shouting profanities, having the cops called would be expected. So once again, a story that makes it difficult to come up with a definitive assessment of the situation. Welcome to the wonderful world of 21st century media. And believe me, if this was truly a case of police brutality, I will be steamed."It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0

Funny, didn’t read that obscenities were yelled and according to the filmer, he rode the bike and paid compliments to people. Maybe the store manager had a Karen moment? Regardless, tased after being cuffed? Walmart has cameras everywhere so I guess they should be able to determine whether he rode into carts and shelves, etc.brianlux said:Halifax2TheMax said:They ought to change the town’s name to WhyI’missing.
