I guess I’m the only one who doesn’t feel a thing for him or the victims. It’s amazing how even this, is a political battle of left vs right. What a shame.
No you’re not.  Anyone out there that night who wasn’t protesting peacefully was there for the wrong reasons.  I don’t care what side you’re on or who you voted for, gun in hand (which they all had correct?) during times like this, you’re looking for trouble.  So I don’t feel a thing for them as well.
The one victim said he thought Rittenhouse was an active shooter....that doesn't change your mind?
Oh please don’t get me wrong, the kids was wrong and has to serve some kind of time for sure, but the surviving victim also indicated he was there to help medically so why carry or at the very least keep it holstered. He claims he wasn’t there to “citizen arrest” (my words not his) anyone.  I understand carrying for safety but I really question his reason for being there.

I also take issue with him looking at the jury every time he answered a question when someone on here claimed Rittenhouse did that as well.  Is it true you have to look directly at who asked you the question?  I don’t know the law.  I just think all medical personnel should firstly “do no harm” just like the oath doctors take.
I think all are to blame. There’s always 3 sides to every story - his, his, and the truth.
I also think I’m just numb to the extent of not giving a crap anymore.

One piece of evidence that the prosecution wasn't allowed to introduce (the one the judge yelled at him for when he brought it up on Wednesday) was video of Rittenhouse talking about shooting looters at some point prior to the incident.

Prosecutors say that the video shows Rittenhouse watching some men exiting a CVS store and then commenting that he wishes he had his rifle so he could shoot them. It was filmed 15 days before the Kenosha shootings.
A voice that sounds like Rittenhouse says one of the men coming out of the store appears to be armed, the Journal Sentinel reported. Then, he says, “Bro I wish I had my (expletive) AR. l’d start shooting rounds at them.”

Jeezus man.  You think that the kid really wanted to shoot people?

You purchase a gun hoping never to have to use it, people don't buy them hoping to...

Yes.  I think he wanted to shoot people.

I know this.  Because he shot people.

If he didn't want to shoot people.  Then he wouldn't have.

    It's that simple.
When I carried concealed it was never so I can shoot people...

You hope to never have to use it.

What was the cc for then?

In case you got lost on your way home from work, and ended up at the shooting range?
When I went hiking I carried.  I should have been more specific.  It was for defense of a rogue wild animal, not a person.  I never carried in groups of people.
i hiked in grizzly bear country in the past...you don't need a gun...just stop the nonsense.
    That's great good for you.

These are the most dangerous animals in the US by the number of deaths since 1970:

    Brown Bears: 70 deaths
    Sharks: 57 deaths
    Snakes: 57 deaths
    Black Bears: 54 deaths
    Alligators: 33 deaths
    Cougars: 16 deaths
    Polar bears: 10 deaths
    Wolves: 2 deaths

Lightening kills ~50 people EACH year.

You're way more likely to be struck by lightning then attacked by an animal while hiking. What are you going to do, shoot the clouds?

So much potential yet so much destruction.  I wish we could turn that around somehow.  Civilization has been around for about 50,000 years, so maybe by the year 52021 we will have figured it out.

I’d venture a guess that almost every one of those deaths caused by land animals is while hiking and almost none of those lightning deaths are while hiking

If someone has an encounter while hiking it’s likely you stumbled upon and startled the animal and you and your gun has no chance…a grizzly, big cat or other predator will take you out if they choose too…but they might show you mercy.

Either way carry bear spray if concerned.  People should be able to hike free from gun idiots worried about the very, very rare instance a predator attacks a human..

I didn't grow up around guns so I guess my parents to his mom isn't a great comparison but I cannot imagine my parents dropping 17-year-old me off at a protest armed...regardless of the legality of the gun I was bringing, the cause, where we stood on the issue(s), etc. A parent's job is not to send their kids to fight for Our Way of Life; it's to protect their kids from being put into dangerous situations.

I wasn't even allowed a squirt gun...my mom was very attuned to the desensitization to guns...I think I got one eventually, but she was dragged kicking and screaming. That's the only toy gun I ever could have had.

I had toy guns and a cap gun but just no bb gun.

When I turned 18 I bought a pellet pistol that used those gas cartridges. That was fun for a few days. It was probably some weird "hey you can't stop me now" type of thing.

I never did buy a motorcycle, etc. Good call mom.

We're trying to be sure that there is a good source for everything posted here. Do your best to say what the source of material posted is, even if it's a "meme," ok? Thanks all.

i have a feeling this ends in a hung jury.

it has been too politicized and people's opinions are too deeply entrenched for 12 people to be objective about it.

If thats the case, is the whole trial a hung jury, or just the charges they don't agree on?
