Zero Hedge (or ZeroHedge)[b] is a far-right[12] libertarian[17] financial blog,[13][14] presenting staff-written articles and aggregating news and opinions from external sources.[18] Zero Hedge, per its motto,[a] is bearish in its investment outlook and analysis, often deriving from its adherence to the Austrian School of economics and credit cycles.[22] While often labeled as a financial permabear,[23][24] Zero Hedge has also been described as a source of "cutting-edge news, rumors and gossip in the financial industry".[25]
Over time, Zero Hedge expanded into non-financial analysis,[c] including conspiracy theories and fringe rhetoric[27] associated with the US radical right,[14][28] the alt-right,[29][30][31] and a pro-Russian bias.[1][32][33][34] Zero Hedge's non-financial commentary has led to a number of site bans by various global social media platforms, although its 2019 Facebook ban[35][36] and 2020 Twitter ban were later reversed.[14][37]
Zero Hedge in-house content is posted under the pseudonym "Tyler Durden"; the founder and main editor was identified as Daniel Ivandjiiski.[26]

    https://www.cnn.com/2021/11/04/us/kyle-rittenhouse-trial-thursday/index.html

A juror was dismissed in Kyle Rittenhouse's homicide trial Thursday morning after he told a joke to a deputy earlier this week about the police shooting of Jacob Blake.

The incident occurred when a male juror made a joke about the shooting while being escorted to his car, Judge Bruce Schroeder said.
"I'm going to summarize what I remember, what I was told," Schroeder said. "He was telling a joke ... he told the officer ... he made a reference about telling a joke about 'Why did it take seven shots to shoot Jacob Blake,' something to that effect."
Kenosha County Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger took particular issue with the incident.
"The joke is in bad taste, there are a plethora of bad jokes out there with everything to do with all this, this is one of them. But I think the rest of this joke, as it were, suggests some sort of racial bias which I think comes into play," he said.

The thing that bugs me isn't his age or going across the state line with a gun (the only things likely to get him into trouble) because this could have been a local adult. It's the "pre-emptive self-defense" element of it that really concerns me. It really looks like he went there hoping to shoot someone; looking for an excuse. You can make an argument about self-defense, but I really hope this doesn't become a right-wing trend; go into protests with a gun and just wait until someone takes a step your direction and shoot them.

The worst part? He's likely to be a cop some day. Yeah, he totally strikes me as a guy that's going to be all about protecting and serving and not at all interested in the power and the ability to kill a few people.

It's not insane gun laws.  He is 17 and is not allowed to own that rifle.  He took it across state lines which is another no no.  He won't get murder but the book will be thrown at him for the rifle violation.

From what I’ve seen of the trial, the prosecution isn’t doing a good job of poking holes through his self-defense defense. He’ll probably be acquitted.

          It's a tough one. I can't say that I believe he wasn't defending himself.

The overall problem is that he was allowed to be there in the first place and there are no consequences for that.

The overall problem is that he was allowed to be there in the first place and there are no consequences for that.
He’s charged with some gun crimes I believe that will likely get a conviction. But I doubt the homicides will.

That crying fit was hilarious. Rarely do you see a meme created live like that.

To me this is just another case that will eventually lead to stricter gun control. Good guys with guns are too hard to define.

Open carry is absolute bullshit and at some point we will figure that out after more innocent people die.

I could never be so judgemental.  But ok.
What's there to be judgmental about? It's all out in the open. All you have to do is look at the choices and actions he took the night that the shooting occurred. If you don't see a problem with him, or anyone else, doing what they did, then I guess we'll never agree. People that open carry or show up to "support" the police with their own firearm have some emotional and/or physical trauma they never worked through, which probably has led to a psychological disorder making them believe their actions are justified.

I would say it is obvious this kid will never be a cop, but our world doesn't seem to value verbal de-escalation or non-confrontation as much as the right to shoot to kill.
          It's a hopeless situation...

I have never heard of a rifle being used as "open carry".  if it is then I would agree its bullshit.

Well it is something.  Only 7 states restrict the Open Carry of rifles.

It's just absolute bullshit that the police stand by while vigilante's are running around in front of them with AR-15s.  I realize they were likely understaffed and overwhelmed but it just shouldn't be acceptable.

But again....after many more people die we will figure it out

The counter goes to why did the police watch people cause destruction then...

There was still destruction right?  And people died.
