Neil Is exercising his free speech and expression, not speaking against it.

Nowhere in the open letter did he speak against JoRo having or expressing his own opinions, only giving a platform to willful dissemination of misinformation.
Neil's speaking against free speech and expression by trying to remove Rogan off Spotify. Intentions are clear.
I suggest you revisit the constitution and Neil’s open letter. He puts it upon a private business to apply some standard of truth in the content they supply.
    Standard via censorship.
    Again, revisit the constitution.

Seems like you’d be fine being lied to all day every day under the guise of free speech?
Sorry, I just noticed the edit. People have a right to seek second opinion from another doctor. Sometimes that second opinion doesn't fit mob's narrative. Plenty of evidence that the mainstream was wrong in many aspects in the past 2 years, therefore, let the people filter it out. They're more than capable. And Neil is 100% right to leave Spotify if it's against his beliefs. I just really wish he wouldn't try to cancel Rogan.
What’s the mainstream and what did they get wrong?
We have another thread for that.

Can't find much from you in the vaccine thread.
I'm on probation since the last vaccine thread got shut down. About 2-3 weeks ago.

Sounds like it went really well!

The world and word these days is alternative facts and fake news much of what many podcasters, radio hosts use as fodder for their audience. Whether or not they believe it is one thing and i understand the free speech side but i believe b4 you preach this information to your audience, how about verifying all of it (not just from the Internet, we all know just cause you read something by some kook on the internet does not make it factual) but get real facts from professionals in the field. I do not trust radio hosts (Joe Rogan included) to give me the  facts on these subjects. I think  Neil  Young sees this as well and has made a decision and platform to open up the conversation and insight to question this type of media which does not have a firm basis for spewing out non-scientific information.
Show me the science behind lockdowns.

The science of tyranny which these cuckolds love.
Before this pandemic I thought my dad would live to 100.  He use to go to gym, got his social fix from eating at a rotation of restaurants and going to the library…and did a little travelling … now 2 years later of lockdowns and restrictions I can see a big deterioration of his health…a lot of seniors are suffering…
Hey, sorry to hear about your dad.
Thanks. You know science…I’m still waiting for the science behind the cannabis ban…

You think 2 months almost 2 years ago completely derailed a perfectly healthy person? Thst defies logic.

Maybe it’s the 2 years of half the country fighting every sort of precaution under the guise of freedom?

“Thoughtful poster”, I must’ve missed any kind of sensible response.

  • Just want to point out, that the Public Health Agency of Sweden did not believe that strict lockdowns would be the prefarable method, and stayed away from them.

But I'd argue, that the people deciding on lockdowns or deciding on not lockdowns both made more qualified decisions than @Meltdown99 or Joe Rogan ever would.

Someone on here said way back it would be interesting to see how his state Ohio would fare with its strict lockdowns and facemask-use versus Sweden who kept society largely open and without face masks (and got a lot of flack about it). Both having similar populations.

For me it is not about what decisions are being put in place during a pandemic. But about trusting the scientific community and people making "qualified" decisions over Alex Jones pal or whoever else. Even with the data not being crystal clear and people needing to make as qualified decision as they can in an somewhat unknown context.  Instead of going into conspiracy theory-mode. Or "muh freedom!" "muh 5g russian speaking vaccin" mode

Is it really because of lousy socialized medicine though?  I would say no.

Are the idiot politicians being overprotective? Maybe, but lockdowns is a better way to handle it then we do in the US.

I get that a mask mandate and temporarily halting large audiences might be better than lockdown....but something is better than nothing.

Just want to point out, that the Public Health Agency of Sweden did not believe that strict lockdowns would be the prefarable method, and stayed away from them.

But I'd argue, that the people deciding on lockdowns or deciding on not lockdowns both made more qualified decisions than @Meltdown99 or Joe Rogan ever would.
just curious why the personal attacks all the time?  Are a 2 year old child…oh by the way I had no problem with the 1st couple lockdowns but by the 4th I expected our idiot politicians to have addressed lousy socialized medicine…so quit acting like child…

We never really had any lockdowns here in Canada.

Some places with tight restrictions at times.

Ignore OP, they have no idea what they are talking about.

restaurants and gyms and libraries haven't been closed this whole time. they were in the beginning. that ended a long time ago. just more BS.
Just out of curiosity what have you sacrificed during this pandemic?  Lost any pay?  Still working?  Lose your business?  You sound like a typical government employee…everyone else should sacrifice…lmfao.

I find it curious that anytime I call you on your obvious bullshit, you always pivot to personal attacks (which you constantly whine about others doing to you, even when all they are doing is calling you on your bullshit/partisan hatred), your wild assumptions about who I am/what I do, and your trademark "lmfao", which somehow reinforces your own righteousness.

I have sacrificed plenty, but my personal situation is not what's important here, nor is any anecdotal situation relevant. the greater good, is. I genuinely feel for people like your father; my own parents and parents in law are in a similar boat, as are many people who are of a similar age and demographic and are stuck in their homes, unable to do the simple things they enjoy that give them joy and purpose, which is hard to come by at an elevated age.

but in my opinion it's better to weather the storm in your home than die in it trying to act as if it doesn't exist.

do I agree with every order that's come down? of course not. some too harsh, some not harsh enough. there's been a lot of fuck ups in my province by our conservative government, but I'm not going to sit and here and claim the liberals or the NDP would have had some magic wand and done things infinitely better. everyone is making this up as they go along, on all sides.

my personal employment is irrelevant (and another attempt to get personal), and not sure why you assume I work for the government (hint: I don't), but your blind hatred of all things government is clouding your judgement on pretty much every issue I see you weigh in on. generalizations are never the truth.

I've said it once and I'll say it again so you can put your "trudeau cultist" bullshit to bed. am I disappointed in him? yep, on many issues. but is he better than o'tool would have been? yep. and jagmeet (or jughead, as you call him) had no chance of winning. I don't worship him, nor do I just blindly despise any politician. it's unhealthy, in my opinion. I try to find the good in what he's doing and if someone better comes along next election I'll vote accordingly.

if you want to keep holding on to one thing I said and keep claiming victory in every thread we cross paths in, be my guest. I didn't read your reply nor do I intend to. there's a reason I often don't engage with you and I think the reasons why are obvious to most people here. I just don't like engaging constant negativity and hatred. there's enough of that in the world.

    I can dig it.

guess thats why canadians have a reputation of nice. with a few glaring exceptions to that rule of course

Wow, off the forum for a day, 168 new rogan comments.

Hopefully more musicians join Neil. This isn’t an attack on rogan as much as  it’s an attack on Spotify. What rogan has said about vaccines is irresponsible and potentially dangerous, but how difficult would it be for Spotify  to run a one minute PSA during his show explaining that roegan is not a doctor, not a virologist and not an educated speaker on vaccine efficacy? And maybe they can throw in a few links to CDC or other data about actual vaccine effectiveness. Had they done that perhaps this would have blown over, but they’d clearly rather enjoy the attention.

Thats the story here, this is where society breaks down, Alex Jones pushes media companies like Fox further away from truth and accuracy, which makes it easier for the spotifys of the world to become purveyors of potentially dangerous misinformation.
