    Yes/No
So while I may disagree with the 9 D senators that who voted 'ney' on this issue, at least they took a stand.  I don't know enough of the details to really cast the stone on where I would personally vote, but I know there are plenty of center/left Ds who are security conscious.  I can live with that.  There's no reason for a senator to skip such a key and high profile vote.  This isn't post office naming here.
This is the extent of what I could find (from a Slate piece). Given the significance, it would be swell if someone from his camp addressed this.

biden came out on tv tonight and said he would absolutely not pardon trump, nor would he interfere with the DOJ investigations. let's see if he sticks to it. i think if he says this at his campaign rallies it would help him.

Biden isn't going to go after Trump any more than Trump is actually going after Obama who didn't do anything about Bush, etc. It's just to get their base worked up. That was the most telling thing about the whole Ukraine nonsense. Trump didn't actually care if they investigated Biden - he just wanted the President to come out and *say* they were going to.

The President doesn't go after people. The independent judicial branch does. Biden is saying that he will leave DOJ alone and let it do its job. That is not at all akin to Trump and Ukraine.

"The administration" then. The DOJ and Executive tend to have a bit of a relationship. I brought up the Ukraine as part of the broader point. I appreciate the civics mansplain, though.

Your broader point was that you were playing the "both sides" card. There are times when that works and times when it doesn't. Biden pledging to let DOJ do its job and Trump asking a foreign power to investigate his political opposition are not at all the same. If you feel my pointing that out is mansplaining, that is most definitely a you problem.

Since it's Pedantry Friday, here's my broad point. None of these people have a real interest in prosecuting each other. Probably one part "let's put that behind us and move on" and one part "there's likely gonna be some sketchy shit the next 4-8 years." But they will absolutely play it up like it's on the table. They know it's like throwing fish at seals.

What I'm saying is if Biden gets elected, don't turn into these MAGAheads who perpetually think prosecution is right around the corner. It ain't happening. Just take the W.

honestly, i think this is what both sides want. yes, I SAID BOTH SIDES. divide and conquer. they just want everyone all riled up about the "enemy" to distract the people from what's really going on.

trump supporters ask "how many wars has trump started". my answer: the one at home. sure, there's always been division. that started to flame up during obama's presidency. trump threw a powderkeg on it.

did anybody actually watch the video clip?

he said that he will not pardon him even if it was seen as a move to "heal the country".

the country does not want to be united, and i do not want biden or anybody to interfere with the nemesis or whatever is coming for trump when he loses.

I don't disagree with that....more importantly tRump knew that there was nothing to investigate.  He just needs the narrative (i.e. Obamagate) to refer to in order to fire up the idiots that make up his base.

My son's BF's mom posted a great message on FB yesterday.  I love how she misspelled "stupid"....she originally misspelled together but corrected it.  This is tRump's base folks.

I still have this feeling that tRump will resign prior to the election (if he knows he is toast) so that Pence can pardon him.

    I wholeheartedly agree.

But for a presidential candidate to say that they would not do so even if it would heal the country (and again, I agree with you that it would not) is quite explicitly the very notion of party > country, is it not?

    It's a dick move.
