They should hire the guys from the Lincoln Project. Republicans are just better at that stuff.

I only hope Biden’s not peaking too soon at this point...

And women tend to vote in higher percentages than men.

And Trump is still saying 96% approval among Republicans! Put aside the fact that he's touting an out of date poll, the number of people who associate themselves with the Republican party keeps dwindling...

If all the protesters get out and vote, there is no way Trump gets re-elected.

I've never seen him less than 85% with Republicans.  It's the Party of Trump and will be until a lot of time has moved on post-Trump (which could start in January or any time over the subsequent several decades).

But the second thing...the number of Republicans, is an interesting point.  I don't know what the numbers are, but it makes intuitive sense that if the GOP is going to be the Party of Trump that people sick of Trump will simply stop identifying themselves are Republicans.  I wonder how/whether they'll vote (Biden? Trump? Third? None?) and whether they'll stick with their former party (where you still have to align with Trump to succeed) in other races.

Biden wisely doesn't get to far ahead of the country on this, especially when the language is misleading and ripe for wedging.

Trust me, they will drop Trump very quickly after November 3rd.

Michael Steele was doing analysis about Colin Powell's appearance over the weekend and he mentioned there is a coalition of center left and center right voters. If that's what is happening to get soul-eater voted out, I'm really good with that. Lots of changes have to come in the future but they come over time. It's not good to lurch this way and that. imho of course. Have a great Monday, all.

Not sure if this question has been pondered here: Does anybody else in hindsight wish they had supported someone else leading up to the Super Tuesday crowning of Biden?

I had finally narrowed my choice to Amy Klobuchar, after toying with several others. While I believe she's sincere in explaining away her record, that she's committed to new ways of thinking now, I understand why she is a problematic VP pick and hope Biden does not select her.

However, at one point, I looked closely at Elizabeth Warren, and I am really wishing now that she were our nominee. I wish I had seen better that our country needs what she was offering and then helped promote her campaign.

Sleepy Joe is going to blow it. I just feel it in me. Given the enormous challenges we face, that nobody had on their radar in January and February, I really wonder whether he's got enough life left in him to meet the task. I wish I could report feeling differently, because even though I didn't want to vote for him, I did speak strongly against the ageism -- just three months ago. But man, he's gotta step up.

I could see battleground state america voting for a white socialist leaning woman as much as I can see Trump jamming in the Oval Office to Lucious Jackson.

Poor Jimmy Carter. Being lumped in with the likes of Trump. Trump is in a class by himself and hopefully will be the only one of his kind.

Independents don't often elected a candidate in a primary.  That's the problem.  The primaries are the problem.

Carter is before my time...but he must have been really ineffective.  Because Trump is not just a terrible president, but a disgrace to the office and a terrible person.  Jimmy wasn't the latter two...but the little I do know, his presidency was a disaster.  Then again, Jimmy might be the most decent guy to hold that office.  Nice guys finish last...

The country wasn't as polarized either.  If Carter was president today, with the same circumstances as he had in the late 70's (inflation, OPEC crisis, Iran, etc.), my guess is he'd be in the mid-40's for approval.  The floor of support is different now than it was then, same with the ceiling.  Likewise, if you look at Reagan's winning map in 84, you'll never see that again unless we have a dictator and there's one name on the card.

There currently is a name on the card that has literally done everything in his power to attempt to become just that.

Certainly he'd like to be, but it's encouraging when Esper backtracks from the dispersing of the protesters, and of course the clear criticism by Mattis, Kelly and Powell, three of the most senior generals alive today.  You can't take over a country without the generals or the population.  Right now, he has neither and he's bleeding democratic support for both.

Trump to hold rallies beginning in a couple weeks. His face everywhere carried him to the white house four years ago. So far this year it is having the exact opposite effect. Be my guest, Don. Pack 'em in. Say a bunch of racist nonsense that now a vast majority of voters disagree with. Have at it.

General Kelly defended Mattis, to be specific..

“The president did not fire him. He did not ask for his resignation,” Kelly, a retired Marine Corps general, said in an interview. “The president has clearly forgotten how it actually happened or is confused. The president tweeted a very positive tweet about Jim until he started to see on Fox News their interpretation of his letter. Then he got nasty. Jim Mattis is a honorable man.”

You mean the overrated, pathetic and weak General Kelly, right?
