is anyone worried that trump will win again? i'll admit i'm terrified and just want this nightmare to be over
I am deeply concerned and do not, under any circumstance feel that Biden winning is a foregone conclusion at this point.
neither do i. hence my concern. i just want to go back to my pre-trump world of twitter being a place where celebrities stop crying. lol
I don't either, though it's nice to see Biden leading. It's early, and a lot can change by November, but Trump has done nothing to gain any support over the past few months. Biden would have to really, really fuck this up. I'm worried for who he'll pick as his running-mate. I hated that he declared it will be a woman. Just pick a woman if you want without saying that. But he said it, so he's stuck with it. I guess I'd go with Bottoms if I was him. I liked Klobuchar. Seemed like a pretty safe choice, but her stock has fallen. Please lord, no Harris, Warren, or Abrams. I'll still vote Biden for President, but I'll write in something else for VP if it's one of those three.
I'm on record (as if anyone is taking a record of this stuff lol) that Biden would win Texas. I said this during the primary, and right now, on Real Clear Politics, Trump is leading in Texas by an average of only 2.2%. If Biden has half of brain, he'll campaign in Texas and try to win it. It's in play, he could do it. What would go a long way to my Texas prediction coming true would be an endorsement from Bush. And not just Bush saying he won't vote for Trump, but Bush himself introducing Biden at a rally, acknowledging that the danger of Trump goes beyond the usual Republican/Democrat bullshit, and endorsing Biden.

A lot can happen in 5 months but if you're a Biden supporter it looks about as good as you could expect right now. Holding a 7ish point lead over an incumbent is pretty significant. The race was much closer 4 years ago.
is anyone worried that trump will win again? i'll admit i'm terrified and just want this nightmare to be over
I'm not....but I wasn't worried four years ago either.
He has a record now....a bad one. His base won't leave him but the swing voters that gave him a chance in 2016 are not there for him again. Biden is a known moderate...he's got this unless he catches COVID or something.
I worry more about voter suppression in November. There is going to be a huge push for early voting. If Biden's campaign can organize like Obama's campaign we have nothing to worry about.

I don't think he should campaign or spend material money in TX, unless he has some huge cash advantage and he wants to put Trump on defense. If he won TX, that means it's a nationwide blowout. That would also mean he won handily in states like MI, WI, PA and probably FL which gives him the victory. I get the mindset, but if he campaigns in TX, loses by 5 points and lost time instead of spending it in the midwest, that would be a horrible mistake.
I’m way more concerned that Sleepy Woke Joe will get elected. Better the devil you know than the one you don’t and why take a chance on the unknown? Plus, Burisma.

I'm at acceptance. The United States exists in the image of Donald J. Trump. Without cheating? He'd win. But given the efforts to suppress votes, I still think he'll win 45 states. I know the polls don't back that as a possibility.

That's a good idea. Flood Texas with ads. I get mrussell's point that there's risk in putting some focus on Texas. But it shouldn't be completely ignored either because it's such a great opportunity for Biden. No democrat has won Texas since Carter in '76. And Trump didn't do all that great in Texas in '16 despite Hillary maybe being the most loathed democrat ever put on a ballot in Texas. Now, I think there's a good chance that Texans that voted for Trump in '16 based on the fact that he was the Republican on the ballot, might now see him as they should: a snobby asshole from Manhattan that couldn't give a shit about them.

Dude, c'mon. 45 states? I feel like you're just being super outrageously negative so you can not be disappointed or something. There's no rational path to 45 states for either candidate. That's a comment you read on Breitbart.

Trump will win the white woman vote again.
Biden very quickly and rightfully denounced “defund the police.” The ads of Team Trump Treason inciting violence at his rallies and telling the police to rough people up juxtaposed with the images from Minneapolis, Buffalo and DC will resonate much more than images of protest signs saying “defund the police.” Biden never said it and thinking people know what the term really means. Team Trump Treason has done nothing in three years to solidify his base. Team Trump Treason is on the wrong side of history on this one.

Well, I'm not a very positive guy...very cynical and maybe my anecdotal sense that Trump's cult is more prominent that most people think is rooted in that.
On the other hand, I remember presidential elections back to 1984 and I've been wrong once. (2008...I really thought we were not ready to elect a black president).

You're right about that dumb slogan, which Biden correctly never embraced but you are wrong about women going to trump. Biden is TROUNCING him with them at the moment. He's up by 30 POINTS in CNN's last poll. And they came out in droves against Trump two years ago. Why would they change now?
We're experiencing the opposite of the Trump phenomenon four years ago. Back then the more he was on tv and spewing nonsense it didn't matter and it actually helped him. Now? Look at how he has plummeted over the last three months. This country is tired of him. You think that's gonna change when he starts spewing more incendiary garbage at these rallies? Hell no. I actually hope the networks carry them live at this point.

I am cautiously optimistic, at this point, that he will not win. There is still a lot of time and a lot of stuff can, and probably will, happen.
But Biden is not Hillary Clinton. People need to stop thinking like that. He's a much better and much more likable candidate. And Trump's numbers are as bad or worse than any incumbent seeking reelection at the moment. There is also a strong sense in this country that history is leaving Trump behind.
