Well, do you think I'll miss a President being announced if I shut it down at 8pm bedtime for Pipsqueak around here?

Regardless of outcome biggest loser is the media.  They obviously have no idea what the US outside of NYC and LA are doing. Another positive development.

Oh, and polls - lol.  They are right when they’re right.  Otherwise they’re wrong.  And it’s obvious they were way off even if Biden wins.
you called it repeatedly for biden
He’s not the entire media. He’s a poster on a rock band’s website. He’s absolutely right, a Trump win would erode trust in the media, and lend credence to Trump’s fake news BS.
my point was for someone to constantly state that biden will win and to now gloat is quite rich

Virginia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota have to go blue. That is a given. After that he just needs one win out of GA,NC,PA and AZ. Big if but that is what is needed. I still think PA is the best chance at a win two days from now.
You’ll give us poor yanks who are not indoctrinated into the church of trump how difficult it will be to live in this country, even in solid blue states?

Yeah. I'm an agnostic and I feel like I damn well better brush up on the bible if I want my freedom to last into my 60s. This is a different country than it was not only before 2016 but before yesterday.  2016 was officially not a fluke. Trumpism is officially embraced here.  "The Resistance" is offically RC to the GOP's Coke and Pepsi combined.

    I got ya.

Well I’ve been adamant that I hate polls and don’t buy them. Haven’t mentioned it in a few weeks because I didn’t want to be constantly arguing with Juggler (who is very passionate about polling, folks). And I was ridiculed for my shy/closeted Trump voter argument. So I figured I’d keep out of those conversations. But man, this looks like it could be bad for pollsters. Even if Biden wins.

That’s my main point.  If I’m wrong about Biden winning, oh well.  My job is not to be objective on those issues.  And maybe I was too influenced by the media myself.  It sure looked Biden for sure easily and clearly according to them.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

To give CNN credit, they never predicted a Biden blowout, they were just angry about his honesty and effectiveness  on covid. People should have a beef with pollsters and forecasters, something this demoncrat has been failing about for two months.

IA is looking good for a Biden, but every state, they look good early and then comes the trump hammer. From rural America and Cuban voters in Miami.

I thought the problem with rural counties is everyone leaves to get a job in the big cities, but trump finds millions and millions of new voters there each time.

    Go figure,

How come Fox news is more optimistic than you guys about Biden Chances?  Is it ratings?  Keep the viewer tuned in?
I don’t think they are anymore. But an hour ago they hadn’t given states to Trump that others had at that point.

All the naysayers seem to be forgetting that AZ looks strong for Joe while so far everything else is a repeat of 2016. Trump has lost votes in almost every state race. He didn't gain, but I think many were unrealistic about him keeping the race close because we don't want it to be close at all. Biden will win, but Trump will have wiggle room to drag this out.

So the GOP is even making a solid run in many of the state seats here in MN.

My thoughts on this and national race:
The civil unrest over the summer has played a much bigger role than I think folks thought it would, or believed it would. Like a lot.

    COVID:
GOP/Trump Believed that people were tired of it, and gambled that a few more deaths of people in their 80, 90, and 100s didn’t bother the majority. People saw the rallies, saw that Trump got over it fairly quick, and thought I miss getting together with people, I’m tired of all this social distancing, I’m ok with taking the chance of being sick for a few days to have a some what normal life back. Dems (being responsible) looked like no fun with the masks,  virtual rallies and car rallies. Virtual rallies, what a horseshit idea.

I think it’s important to try to figure out what’s going on. Rural America is isolated from outsiders, and trump turned democrats into demons, and rural America bought it hook line and sinker. We are to blame for their problems.  Outsiders have no chance to change their minds. It’s an insulated comm7nity and we are the devil, That’s whats going on.

in the suburbs and cities Dems win 60-40, and in rural America trump wins 70-30. Then factor in the electoral college advantage, and that’s how you get someone like Trump  doing well.

Dems still have a chance but fading slightly.

We will be days away knowing who wins. PA said they will need a couple of days. MI says Friday, WI says not tonight. Same with GA.

AZ going to Biden gives him a couple of more outs at least. Either way should be a shit show for the next couple of days with them trying to get things sorted!

And I think that split has grown due to the differing opinions about COVID. Rural areas are sick of it and just want to go back to normal. Larger cities take it more seriously and want a solution.

I definitely think if George Floyd's murder doesn't happen, tonight might go differently.  The GQP was able to paint the riots as Biden's base and scare people without actually saying anything racist. Hell, here in St. Paul, I felt uneasy for a few days (and from my seat of privilege, I was getting annoyed at how long it was going because I felt it was going to help Biden).

As for COVID, I feel like most people believe it's serious, but there are a lot of people that view any, and I mean any, requirements as "socialism."  And there's just enough disinformation to 1) validate thoughts and 2) pass on to suckers for their consumption. And, yeah, COVID fatigue set in. I recall leaving my office in March thinking I'd be back by summer. I haven't been back since and we're officially not going back until June.  At some point, people are going to decide "sure, I can work from home, but I'm not going to hide from life."

And all this to "owning the libs" and the Dems needed a better candidate.

The good thing is that Trump can't claim anything tonight because he doesn't have a lead so we can hopefully avoid his early calls to end counting of ballots because it isn't in his favor right now.

Yeah, it looks like we're looking at couple of days, if not more.

PA. might not give final count until Friday.

A reporter from Michigan said that Michigan won't be given UNOFFICIAL count until around this time tomorrow night.
