So for right now, not much has changed with work. Wife worked from home before. My job would be considered essential, however this is dependent on the freight we have available to haul and how many drivers above me would be willing to stay home. Now we have implemented some additional cleaning measures given we have shared trucks. Terminals have seen some alterations too.

the changes I see in general are the same ones everyone else is facing out in the world.
Im guessing our local drivers will see a BIG CHANGE come Monday. Illinois is on a complete shutdown. Our company will be ready and willing to work of course, but I have a feeling our local guys lost 75% of their freight as of 5pm yesterday. Monday will be interesting and sad.
our term has a couple medical supply customers who of course are shipping more, that has helped a lot to make up for those that hsve shuttered. we arent at complete shut down statewide so we're still good. but really we're only what 1- 2 weeks into this here?

Local guy I see yesterday when I pull in to my home terminal tells me he is not worried. He says we are essential and will keep on working. How on Earth can this guy NOT REALIZE at least 75% of his accounts have just been shut down?

Thanks for sharing your story. I didn’t have time to read it when I shared what I expect to change for me. But it makes me think of things I never would have thought of. All I could think is where is all the toilet paper and not consider those driving across states in those conditions. No places to stop, eat, and most importantly get good rest.
I hope they improve the conditions for drivers like you and make it safer and more comfortable.

linehaul in my barn was already short 2 drivers so we are somewhat better positioned than other terminals. city is fully staffed so some may get hours cut.

call offs are voluntary at first.  by seniority. if everyone refuses then the bottom guys get forced off....

Hey Mike, hope all is well. It’s crazy to think that the truck drivers out there are not getting enough praise for what you guys are doing. Just like the professional health care providers out there, you and all the other drivers out there are doing your part of what is helping out everybody in this time of need. Without you guys, the very much needed supplies around the country and world would never get to where they need to be. After reading the situations you and all the other drivers are encountering, I don’t doubt that you all are on the front lines just like the health care providers. So with that being said, thank you for what you all are doing out there, and please stay safe. Hope to see you and the gang soon when this tour gets rescheduled. It’s always a blast when Speedy rounds up the troops and gets everybody together for the pre parties. Stay safe out there.

It was just a 48 hour experience in Pennsylvania where parking became an issue. Other than that, I am making great timing wherever I travel. Because sadly, there is nobody else on the road. Its creepy at times.

But the truck stops restaurants are open, but like everywhere else its just carryout. But for the truckers who spend weeks at a time on the road, I cant begin to tell u how nice it is to every once in a while walk into Dennys and get some nice hot breakfast and a cup of coffee. It just brings 30 minutes of normalcy to our lives.

My only true gripe as of now is my fellow truckers not playing by the rules. Not keeping a safe distance from one another, not wearing the gloves etc.

By the way it’s good to see you around here! I know I know you don’t give a rats ass lol

Good to see you! You want to laugh? I BET I CAN MAKE YOU LAUGH!!!

Dropped my 10 club number twice over the last 3 years or so. Any way Mr. Lowest 10club number on the planet, you want to know my number as of today?

    714xxx

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You just convinced me to renew my 382XXX, my first fan club number was in the 200xxxx's before Auto renew and somehow I lost it, forgot or didn't take it seriously and let it go in 2005.   Devastated by that I restarted in 2006 at 382 XXX.
So thanks for the reminder to make sure that my auto renewal is on for my renewal date March 31st. =)

I let mine go just because I really have only used it for tix once or twice in the last 10 years. It just wasn't all that important anymore. I still and always will find my way in to the shows. I only renewed today because obviously in this world we live in I wanted to come here and chat with some old friends. I have been around these boards for 17 years, and I just felt today was the time to talk.

But yeah, looking at a 714xxx number is kind of hysterical.

Well,,, welcome back!! I honestly have not scored to many tickets out of the deal either. 5 shows to be exact since 2003.  Lol.
Three of them were in 2003 Chicago St Paul and East Troy Wisconsin.  Since that year 2 more,  2014 Milwaukee the YIELD show & 1 Wrigley 2016.  The rest we're through other means.
    Stay calm carry on...

I'd rather my university just cancel university this year. Many will be too anxious to focus on studying and working on assessment tasks.

I have some guy coming to buy a modem off me tomorrow.
Wondering how to do the transaction without getting close to him.
Do I ask him to leave the money on the floor and I'll leave the modem on the floor?
