Might get slagged but I think it’s a bit premature and the comment about the government is just unnecessary. No need to deflect blame on a blameless matter. I guess togetherness is only cool if you’re living in the same echo chamber.

Agreed....and how does blaming "our government" explain the Canadian shows postponement?
My thought when reading that was “why do you need the government to tell you what to do anyway?” Look at the data and facts, make up your own mind what you think is best.

$1400 in non refundable flights. $600 in Airbnb's that are too close to the date to cancel. A likely fall tour that I can not take vacation on due to work restrictions. Amazing.
You've already contacted the airlines?  Right now they should be refundable.
It’s virtually impossible to get through to Air Canada right now. March break plans in chaos for so many, I suppose.
Ah - I was wondering why I've been on hold for 40 minutes. Makes sense now.
1 hr 10 mins on hold right now, still waiting ...
I’m 58 minutes now. I’ve got to go to sleep. Guess I’ll try again tomorrow while driving from Medicine Hat
to Pincher Creek. Should give them enough time to answer my call? Perhaps I’m being to optimistic. This is Air Canada

I work night shift, so I sleep during most of the day. I guess I can hang up (and finally get to the bathroom) and try again on my commute home in the morning when there might actually be more than a few people answering the phone.

Side note: Medicine Hat is still one of my favorite town names in CA.

Are they being kind due to the Coronavirus or did you have a refundable ticket in the first place?

Wow. I’m somewhat impressed/surprised. I looked to see what would happen if I canceled online and they offered next to nothing back (about $50 on a $400 ticket). I guess speaking to an agent helps (?).

I booked through Air Canada direct (basic no-refund ticket with fees for changing) so maybe I've been lucky because of booking direct. I finally got through to them after 1 hour 40 mins on hold lol, to someone very nice and patient and kind; I got a credit for x3 separate flights I had booked for the dollar value of the flights, valid for 1 year and 90 days. I'm pretty happy about that as with my job I'm lucky enough to be flexible to hopefully be able to make the new dates. If not I can use the credit for something else I guess, it doesn't have to be for the same 3 routes I had with them either which is nice too.

They're not giving us a refund, they're just giving us credit toward future flights. (May not have been clear in previous posts). I plan to go to Toronto on vacation (even if PJ can't reschedule a date that is convenient for me to attend), but work has put out a pretty serious travel ban, so the postponing of the tour was the icing on the cake for this trip.

I’ll happily take the credit and use it in the summer for somewhere else. Unfortunately, I doubt I’ll try again for Oakland.

not surprised this has happened . truly unfortunate. tickets i'm sure will be valid until they tour again. probably add a few cities along the way. until then everyone stay safe we'll see each other down the road.

I know it’s early but the Europe tour might be next. Can it possibly go on?
This to me is why they partially said postponed. I think the first leg will replace Europe since most or all venues would be open with no nba or nhl.
    My theory as well

That sucks.  We fared better.   Friend was covering the gas/ferry to get to oakland.  I used 20000 Alaska Air points to get back home.  Hotel is cancelled without penalty.  Not sure if I can get my points back.  They have a thing that you can get a free refund for flights until mar 31. hopefully they extend it into april.
I was really happy with Alaska Airlines in 2014 as I had to delay a flight from Bellingham to Denver by a day at the last moment. Thankfully we were leaving two days early and we salvaged
the trip and left a day later. They could have charged us a bundle but waived all charges after I told the guy we were going to see PJ. Good luck with that. Fantastic concert Denver 2014 BTW.

Found an article about airline cancellations.

    Frontier

Frontier will waive change and cancellation fees for flights departing between March 3 and March 16. Passengers can make one change without a fee, and the new flights must be before June 1

While not helpful for shows in this tour, I think it’s a good sign they’ll be flexible. I mean, do they really expect this virus to be resolved in a week?

Thanks for posting this. The flights I had are in April after the March 16 period. I would assume this will be extended based on the way things are going with the virus. Now the biggest problem is getting through to frontier to resolve this. I am going to try and e mail them and call throughout the day.

I was largely impressed with the way people were handling this...then I found the pinned thread at the top of the page. Oh boy...
I especially liked the guy who kept screaming, "my dad is a well known doctor!!!!" and wondering why the band doesn't cancel shows for AIDS and cancer.

Taking people's live Pearl Jam away makes them especially cranky.
  • I understand why it is postponed but doesn’t mean that I’m not a little upset.

As for tickets, I think 10c should give an option based on the new dates whether someone wants to keep or return the tickets for a refund
Ticketmaster controls the tickets now not 10Club or PJ.   As with all show postponements, they will honor the tickets and allow you a refund if you desire once the date is announced (or sooner if it takes a while).    The real issue is if someone asks for a refund what happens with those tickets?  Will 10c get to do another lottery for them or does Ticketmaster just put them up for sale as they would normally?

disclaimer - don’t get your hopes up for msg or Denver.  No real reason to get a refund with open market.  So tix will be available but at market prices.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

West jet has just announced rescheduling, refund policy in light of corona virus impacts.   Looks like customers might be able to get refunds.  Hopefully other airlines will follow suit so fans affected by cancellations can get some money back!
