I think this keeps getting overlooked. We here have been ground zero in the U.S. First case in the U.S. was here. The county now has 116 confirmed cases in the county alone, including 20 deaths. Just the county. We have no capacity to test. In fact, many workers at the nursing home where the initial outbreak started still haven't been tested as of yesterday evening. Microsoft, Facebook, Google, Amazon, DocuSign, and other large employers here are having their employees work from home (which cut my commute in half). Many, many schools are closed after COVID-19 contact for cleaning. Some entire districts have now closed for the next couple of weeks and are doing distance learning. ComiCON and other events have been cancelled. And remember, we're only a couple of weeks into this here. Now we're seeing it go from just WA, to WA and CA, to the west coast, to all over the country in the past several days. And the information is still very limited as we don't have sufficient testing capacity to know the actual picture. Every day we see confirmed cases and death counts rise. This is a virus that is not well understood, for which there is no vaccine nor antiviral treatment. Everyone here, including the band, is being told to practice social distancing and avoid large gatherings, especially if you're in a risk category. Over 70% of the cases have hit those > 50 years old. So the band, and I, fall into at least 1 category immediately. A second category is underlying health conditions. While the band all seems fit and healthy, the reality is that at least one of them and perhaps more likely have some condition which makes them more susceptible. Additionally, even if they are fine, they can still carry and transmit the virus to others who aren't. So it is entirely understandable that they are not interested in putting themselves, their families or their fans in harms way and are exercising extreme caution. That caution is warranted until we get a handle on this virus. We can't contain it, but we can all do our parts to slow the spread and buy the medical community time. Our hospitals in this area are already overwhelmed and we need to work on slowing the spread so that additional pressure isn't put on the already taxed infrastructures. The issue is emotional for sure. The band were clearly sorry that they reached the decision that would surely disappoint fans. But they're using the best information they have to inform their decision. Nobody has to like it, but I for one understand and appreciate the seriousness and thoughtfulness of their message and their actions.

Anyone have any luck getting a credit from JetBlue? I booked flights for my family from LA to NYC back in January, but they're only allowing cancellations for people who booked after Feb 27.
Followup on this. I called JetBlue and they graciously gave me a full credit to book travel within a year. The flight itself can be for a date more than a year out.

I can't stress enough how important it is to slow the spread of the disease. As I keep saying, best-case scenario has demand for hospitalization FAR outstripping what's available. That's best-case. And by the way, that affects ANYONE who requires emergency care for stroke, heart attack, car accident, etc.
I know we all like to think we're not really that old, but I'm pretty sure that the bulk of PJ fans are 50+. The fatality rate climbs into "wow, that's a real number!" zone for the 50+ crowd. If you are over 60, you are urged to avoid air travel and church. If you are over 60, you should be worried.
All those who seek to destroy the liberties of a democratic nation ought to know that war is the surest and shortest means to accomplish it.

I called frontier and they’re allowing changes and cancellations with no charges for any flights in March. My flights are in April, they told me to call back when they have more info for April.

Shocked at the selfishness of some fans here. selfish because they want shows to go on despite the possible effects on others. fact is we don't really know where this virus is taking us. lessening the risk AT THIS TIME is the right move for the greater good. be for the greater good people.

I spent 2 and a half hours on hold with Air Canada this morning. Received credit in our round trip tickets to Denver. Have to use the credit and fly by mid-January 2021.
Have a $900 credit with Southwest Airlines that we have to use by the same date. That will take some creativity as Southwest doesn’t fly to Calgary but maybe a trip to Hawaii in November will happen (drive to Spokane maybe?). Figure something out.
Basically as long as we use those credits we aren’t out any cash. And we still have tickets.. although the jury is still out on keeping all of those. Might refund the Phoenix and San Diego tickets and keep Denver (because they are GA)

I get being upset. I am. It is going to cost me a good chunk of $ and there is no guarantee I will be able to make the rescheduled dates (plea for a livestream?). It really sucks.
But dismissing this as “only 500 cases NBD” is so disengenuous. There are 500-1000 cases right now that we know of but probably many more due to lack of testing. Further, a week ago there were 100. It’s not hard to project some really big numbers in 2-4 weeks time unless active steps are taken to slow the spread which is exactly what this move does.
A concert is a tiny tiny part of the risk we all face. That seems why they pointed to leadership not leading. But I'm not sure whether any country's leadership has canceled thousands of sporting events, circuses, plays, operas, concerts, not to mention jam packed commuter public transportation and schools.
A get PJ has a soft spot with tragedy and are very careful but I'm challenged to feel any safer by this postponement.

Many schools will be on spring break in a week or 2. Looks like good timing. I also think a lot will use that week to disinfect and deep clean while they are closed and probably send out autocallers/letters to parents asking to keep kids home if they show any signs of illness..

It's disgusting what Fox News has done to this country.
Everyone here, including the band, is being told to practice social distancing and avoid large gatherings, especially if you're in a risk category. Over 70% of the cases have hit those > 50 years old. So the band, and I, fall into at least 1 category immediately. A second category is underlying health conditions. While the band all seems fit and healthy, the reality is that at least one of them and perhaps more likely have some condition which makes them more susceptible. Additionally, even if they are fine, they can still carry and transmit the virus to others who aren't.
So it is entirely understandable that they are not interested in putting themselves, their families or their fans in harms way and are exercising extreme caution. That caution is warranted until we get a handle on this virus. We can't contain it, but we can all do our parts to slow the spread and buy the medical community time. Our hospitals in this area are already overwhelmed and we need to work on slowing the spread so that additional pressure isn't put on the already taxed infrastructures. The issue is emotional for sure. The band were clearly sorry that they reached the decision that would surely disappoint fans. But they're using the best information they have to inform their decision. Nobody has to like it, but I for one understand and appreciate the seriousness and thoughtfulness of their message and their actions.

I can't stress enough how important it is to slow the spread of the disease. As I keep saying, best-case scenario has demand for hospitalization FAR outstripping what's available. That's best-case.
