This one is odd given their stance on the environment.   Not a big deal but just a surprising event sponsor to play for.
Yeah, I think this is a valid criticism. Taking a private jet to perform at a private gig for a company that sells private jet ownership shares. Short of using a barrel of oil as a stool, it's hard to deviate further from an activist climate change urgency message.

You know he probably flies a private jet to most gigs, so I guess I'm fine with attending if he takes  ajet to get there.

I don’t give a fuck if Ed takes a private jet for a gig or if he serves cheeseburgers at a private listening party for Gigaton.

Did you guys want him to walk there?  Maybe take a sailboat for the European tour?

Transportation to the gig aside, is it off message for a climate change activist to perform a private show for a private jet company?

This times a million.  Who really gives a shit about this? Especially not knowing what steps he takes to offset it?

This should surprise no one.  If it does, please return to the beach in Miami that previously housed the sand your head was buried in.

I understand both sides of this argument, but unless you were there you do not know the message Ed was delivering between songs. He conceivably could have used it to discuss climate change with the folks at Netjets who are all probably wealthy and influential.
Someone of Ed’s stature is not going to help change the world from his living room.

Needs to walk barefoot.  Don’t want to think about the carbon impact on making shoes.  I cry just thinking about it

Boom flies commercial. He was on my flight from Bos to Lax after Fenway show. Though he was in first class and was served food before coach was even seated. He did give me a big Hawaiian hug in his defense.

If that is what would pass as climate change activism, it goes a long way in explaining why people are not taking it seriously.

And I say all this as someone who is perfectly fine with everything he's doing. My politics on the issue don't necessarily line up with the band's, so it's just strange to see him doing something counter to his position vs. mine.

Celebrities are constantly doing one thing while telling you to do another. No surprise here. Doesn’t bother me at all. I’m here for the music and concerts, not political or environmental advice.
