Yeah, I think this is a valid criticism. Taking a private jet to perform at a private gig for a company that sells private jet ownership shares. Short of using a barrel of oil as a stool, it's hard to deviate further from an activist climate change urgency message.bootlegger10 said:This one is odd given their stance on the environment. No one wants to answer my question truthfully. Figures. “I’m so upset Ed flew in a private jet!!!!! (Stomps feet)0

You know he probably flies a private jet to most gigs, so I guess I'm fine with attending if he takes ajet to get there.ejk1280 said:No one wants to answer my question truthfully. Figures. “I’m so upset Ed flew in a private jet!!!!! (Stomps feet)0 -
I don’t give a fuck if Ed takes a private jet for a gig or if he serves cheeseburgers at a private listening party for Gigaton.0

This times a million. Who really gives a shit about this? Especially not knowing what steps he takes to offset it?RP112579 said:

This should surprise no one. If it does, please return to the beach in Miami that previously housed the sand your head was buried in.0

I understand both sides of this argument, but unless you were there you do not know the message Ed was delivering between songs. He conceivably could have used it to discuss climate change with the folks at Netjets who are all probably wealthy and influential.pjl44 said:
Transportation to the gig aside, is it off message for a climate change activist to perform a private show for a private jet company?mcgruff10 said:Did you guys want him to walk there? Boom flies commercial. He was on my flight from Bos to Lax after Fenway show. Though he was in first class and was served food before coach was even seated. He did give me a big Hawaiian hug in his defense.Springfield 4/6/94, Boston 4/6/94, Hartford 10/2/96, New York 9/11/98, Hartford 9/13/98, Mansfield 8/30/00, Boston 9/28/04, Reading 10/1/04, Quebec City 9/20/05, Boston 5/24/06, Hartford 5/13/06, New York 6/25/08, Hartford 6/27/08 Philadelphia 10/31/09, Hartford 10/15/10,

If that is what would pass as climate change activism, it goes a long way in explaining why people are not taking it seriously.1ThoughtKnown said:

And I say all this as someone who is perfectly fine with everything he's doing. My politics on the issue don't necessarily line up with the band's, so it's just strange to see him doing something counter to his position vs. mine.0 -

Ed says (and does) a lot of things.
