When it was being used to push the right’s  agenda, it was immediately dismissed. This should be just as swiftly dismissed.

I don't know what you are talking about...

What has this to do with any political agenda?

And again, why should what she says here be "swiftly dismissed" ? Why?

Several pages back it was discussed that the virus had already made the rounds through various communities. This notion was met with both eye rolls from the left and as  an opportunity to downplay the effects of the virus by the right.
What has that to do with Greta as an individual, saying she and her dad has been down and around in Europe where the virus had spread, and both of them has gotten symptoms that makes her think that "it’s extremely likely that I’ve had it, given the combined symptoms and circumstances."

    ... like in any way?

Should also be noted also, that she took the time and used her platform to write this to her 10 million followers to help out:

THIS IS THE BOTTOM LINE: I almost didn’t feel ill. My last cold was much worse than this! Had it not been for someone else having the virus simultainously I might not even have suspected anything. Then I would just have thought I was feeling unusually tired with a bit of a cough. And this it what makes it so much more dangerous. Many (especially young people) might not notice any symptoms at all, or very mild symptoms. Then they don’t know they have the virus and can pass it on to people in risk groups. We who don’t belong to a risk group have an enormous responsibility, our actions can be the difference between life and death for many others.
Please keep that in mind, follow the advice from experts and your local authorities and #StayAtHome to slow the spread of the virus. And remember to always take care of each other and help those in need.

But let's waste a post on the Pearl Jam message board pointing out that you have to be skeptical of her. Posting that is very important. For some people. For some reason.

And what agenda is there here to swiftly dismiss?

My boss has come down with the bug. Fever over the weekend, now coughing and experiencing shortness of breathe. We’ve been on telework status since last week so there’s that.
Did you have contact with him/her last week??

If the Baffoon wants everything to start up in two weeks let him be the 1st to show up at a restaurant full of people let him be the 1st to sit at sporting even in the regular seats not in a private box, he’s no leader that’s for damn sure! This country doesn’t need him one bit the governor’s have already proven that!

It’s actually one week because he’s referring to it beginning last week.

Listening to trump say “we are America and we are not built for a shutdown” sounds a lot like “we the wealthy demand our slave labor back to work.”

let’s let the economists dictate how to get out of a health emergency. Typical American bull$hit. Too bad if that means millions more die and a second wave kills more and a different age group. To quote a famous republican, oops.

for any pro business person thinking economists should dictate how we get out of a healthcare nightmare, consider if you are a business leader or owner, and you are saying we should not listen to the Health specialists and re socialize soon...

...consider I will never buy your product again and will tell everyone I know to tell everyone they know to do same. I will endlessly comment on the 4th largest website in America and continue to pass the word about your choice of business over lives.

further, I will not be attending any sporting events nor going to any restaurants

im sure millions will act in the same way. How you think the economy recovers under those conditions?
So what about the people living paycheck to paycheck that desperately need to get back to work? How about the people that don’t have a pile of money to weather this storm?  There is clearly not hope of a safety net or recovery for the poor and lower middle class here in America. Is it horrible for us to want to go back to work because even though the money isn’t coming in anymore the bills are still rolling in like clockwork?  I’m all for continuing the self isolation if you can guarantee that millions of working Americans won’t come out of it financially insolvent or bankrupt or worse.  It’s not just the stockbrokers and ultra rich that want the economy running it is also the people with bills to pay that don’t want to end in poverty.  If the wealthy and corporations among us and the government want to get together and make a security net I say keep the quarantine going.  If you want millions of Americans to have to honor their debts, bills and buy necessary items like food etc with no money coming in that is not going to fly for long.

Everyone is talking about trump and republicans and economists but no one is looking at the poor and working class it seems.

You felt the need to take the time to write out: "Apparently she is an expert on coronavirus now." because of her saying she thought she had gotten corona, and explained why she sthought so.

The words chosen, and the post chosen to submit doesn't come us as very not-offended to me. And I'm pretty damn good at getting subtext.

How an Austrian ski resort helped coronavirus spread across Europe

Freaking beer pong and whistles!!  ugh
Entire article here: (definitely worth the read) https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/24/europe/austria-ski-resort-ischgl-coronavirus-intl/index.html
"At first, we didn't understand how this many cases could have happened," Christensen, who had been briefed by experts working on Iceland's response to the pandemic, said. But a clearer picture emerged when officials worked out what was going on in some of Ischgl's tightly packed bars and clubs.
"We realized that they exchanged saliva because they were playing beer pong," using their mouths, he said, although he did not single out any specific bars where the game took place. The game involved spitting ping pong balls out of their mouths into beer glasses, and those balls were then reused by other people.
Lerfeldt reported that Kitzloch bartenders, including the 36-year-old who later tested positive for coronavirus, blew on a brass whistle to get people to move out of their way as they took shots to customers. Several customers also blew the whistle for fun, Lerfeldt said. "I can see why people would want to whistle it -- and nobody knew he was sick," Lerfeldt said.
Monika Redlberger-Fritz, head of the influenza department at the Medical University of Vienna, told CNN that the way the virus spread in Ischgl means there was likely at least one person who infected a large number of other people.
"That means that there was at least one patient who had a very high viral load, and while most people will infect two to three others on average, these people can transmit the disease to 40, 50, or 80 people." Redlberger-Fritz said that this may have cut the lead time for authorities to react by several days.

If the choice was that or bankruptcy/ losing apartment etc. I’d do it. I feel for restaurant workers the most they were hit hardest immediately. My buddy manages a place and has 41 people asking when they can get back to work. And if the restaurant pays them  in the interim they go out of business

Well, you are batting .000 on this one my friend. It's okay that her opinion matters so much to you, but for me it is no more important than anyone else's who is not an actual expert on the matter. Why shouldn't people care? Why shouldn't someone, be it whoever and a "celebrity" be able to post about it.

People cared when Tom Hanks contracted it.

I would bet people would care if Eddie contracts it.

Nothing to even dismiss here, and you have yet to explain why something has to be dismissed -- in a way that makes sense.

But still you felt the need to post about people having to "swiftly dismisss" her saying she believes she has gotten corona.

And that need of yours to post just that, is what is interesting here.

She posted it. That’s what it has to do with her as an individual. Why should anyone care that she may or may not have contracted  COVID? I mean, thanks for the PSA.

The same people dismissing the claims from a week ago of people having itshould be dismissing this. Not that hard to understand.

Yeah, I care about Greta's opinion about as much as I care about any other teenager's opinion.

What "opinion" in her post is there to care or not care about according to you?
"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"
