Team Trump Treason really doesn’t like questions from people of color, even when he’s asked a question about a direct quote from his Hannity interview. How dare you! Be nice! What a thin skinned loser.

Massive drug addiction and suicides, the likes of which have never been seen before, if the economy doesn’t get going, worse than Coronavirus deaths.

“Ride it! Ride it like a cowboy!” Team Trump Treason is unhinged. Watching it occur in real time should give anyone pause.

Here is a perspective from someone who doesn’t get wrapped up in rooting for one side or the other. Why did we not already have a plan in place for how to handle a worldwide pandemic? A no questions asked, exact course of action type of plan. Seems to me like that might be something our government should have given some thought about well before Trump even had the idea of running for office. Our last administration saw what the swine flu pandemic could do, and that was with a understanding of how to combat the H1N1 virus already. There were microbiologists predicting something like this current coronavirus pandemic with uncanny accuracy years ago. I have attached a review from the American Society for Microbiology published back in October of 2007 for reference along with the very accurate portion in a screenshot. No president should have to make up a plan on the fly when it comes to the safety of our country. Sorry, but this shit falls squarely on the inability of our government and not having their priorities straight long ago. Republican or Democrat it doesn’t matter, while all they care about is pointing fingers and acting like fucking children measures could have been taken. You don’t have to like Trump, and he undoubtedly says some off the wall things but the blame for this should be directed elsewhere. When do we stop letting our government divide us and start holding them accountable instead of spreading hate amongst each other? People just can’t seem to see the forest for the trees. RATM said it best, WAKE UP!

How does it work in the USA with this? He is extending the social distancing until the end of April but do the individual States even have to listen to him? On the flip side once the 30 days are up and he wants to open everything back up if some States do not want to comply do they have to?

Has anyone been able to find any disinfecting wipes?  Everywhere I look online is out of stock.  We have a bunch of multi-purpose wipes, but they are primarily for cleaning; not disinfecting.
Forget it. Purell, Lysol, wipes, rubbing alcohol,n95, latex gloves. Done. I don’t think we’ll see any of these for retail until after May. My distributor said June is the latest update for n95 masks. They all stayed in China (where they’re made) in December.
    Ugh.

The one smart thing i did was i went to WalMart before it hit the fan.  Just mailed some masks to my parents. They can’t find them anywhere.  Gave the kids their masks, etc.

I think it’s each state like bbigs said. But also there’s no real penalty, except for businesses in some cases. I can throw a party and invite 100 people and I don’t think I’d be fined or anything.
It’s like school right now. We’re still giving assignments, but we’ve been told to not fail anyone even if they don’t do a single thing.

Buh, buh, buh, Obama created a cabinet level position to address and deal with issues just like what you’re asking for after the H1N1 and/or Ebola outbreaks. Also, requested additional funding for CDC and pandemic planning. Guess who eliminated the cabinet position and defunded pandemic planning? Also, guess who hasn’t filled hundreds if not thousands of leadership positions within the executive branch that could have mitigated some of what we’re dealing with today? Too bad your pointing your finger in the wrong direction.
It's not that he/they haven't filled them. It's that they can't. Very few people are willing to  be associated with this regime. They dont want it on their CV, they don't want to be shunned in public or at public events, and they want to have a professional future.

I know people who have been offered positions in this government and they've chosen lesser paying jobs rather than have anything to do with this regime.

It’s also the churn. 2/3 of those present for the pandemic walk through with the Obama Administration are no longer there. We’re down to the E or F team. A-Roid being solicited for covid-19 advice, etc. etc. etc. Good luck America.

Lack of intelligence and leadership will do that to a nation.

I watch the news regularly these days to stay informed, but watching the news is such a drag these days.  One thing that bugged me about it today:

    1.  Instead of starting the news with, "Today, 500 people recovered from the virus!" (or something on the positive side) they always start the report with the death count.  I get it that the virus is bad news.  WE ALL GET IT!  But it still comes across to me as gruesome news for a society that thrives on gruesome news.

And then there are the dumb damn things that people are doing lately:

    1.  Trump.  Last week it was, "We're gonna fill the churches with people at Easter!".  This week it is (much more appropriately), "We're going to social distance through April.   Talk about yo-yo leadership!

    2.  Our TV news comes out of Sacramento and they have repeatedly told people to not handle food that they are not going to buy.  ANd then they show and criticize (as they well should) these people who are picking over food with their bare hands at the Sac farmer's market that they don't buy.  They people should be shot.

    3.  The news in CA has been emphasizing OVER AND OVER again that people should not congregate.  They specifically talked about how people need not gather in state parks.  So what did loads of people do?  Yeah you guessed it.

Dumb fucking people.  Sometimes I think the human race deserves what ti gets.  But not all of us.  I'm doing the right things.  From what I've read here, I'm guess almost all of you fine folks are too.  Good job!

Perhaps your point #1 (part 2 -haha) is some awesome reverse psychology? I bet this made folks way less bummed about the extra 4 weeks plus...

Could be, Tish.  I guess I'm looking at it from the perspective that I figured we'd all be isolating for another month or two or four.  We've pretty much been told over and over that things will be at their worst (at least here in the U.S.) in mid April- the very time DT want to let the the monster out of the cage, so to speak.

Brian, I think the only number that does need to lead is the one representing deaths...I get your point but I think people still are not getting the larger point.  Obviously most of us in this thread understand, but I don't feel like a sizeable percentage of the idiots on this globe do.

    • Bidets have been around for over 300 years — the first known bidet appeared in France in the 1700s.
    • People all over the world use it as a standard in their bathrooms, but Americans haven't caught on yet.
    • Americans use about 34 million rolls of toilet paper a day. Investing in a bidet can significantly lower your spending on toilet paper.
    • Using a bidet is cleaner than just using toilet paper and can lead to fewer instances of rashes, hemorrhoids, and UTIs.
    • Some basic bidet toilet seat attachments can cost as low as $25 on Amazon.

Michelle Yan: If you were walking barefoot in a park or yard and stepped in dog poop, would you only use a couple of napkins to wipe it off? No. You'd probably wash it off with water. And it's for similar reasons that people worldwide use bidets to clean themselves after using the bathroom. In western Europe, South America, the Middle East, and Asia. They're cleaner and more environmentally friendly than just plain old toilet paper. But there's one place where bidets are not so welcome, which made us wonder: Why haven't they caught on in the US?

    Australia - 4093 positive and 17 deaths.

Brian, I think the only number that does need to lead is the one representing deaths...I get your point but I think people still are not getting the larger point.  Obviously most of us in this thread understand, but I don't feel like a sizeable percentage of the idiots on this globe do.

Oh man, that's so true... hate to say it, but so true.  Yes, I think we here get it... but some places out there?  That's so hard to wrap my head around.  Maybe some are in denial.  Maybe they think they are impervious, don't value their life or other's lives.  Or like you said, just don't see the big  picture.  Or are they just plain uninformed or stupid or both?  It boggles the mind!

Sweden has chosen a different strategy in the fight against the corona virus, compared to many other countries. Instead of legislating a ban, the Swedish line has been to place more responsibility on the individual.

During Sunday Carlson participated in SVT's Agenda, where he was able to answer questions about international criticism.

    - One has to consider: What is most important to prevent the spread of infection? It is that people with symptoms do not move outside. To protect those who are weak, Carlson said in response, among other things.

At the same time, he said that colleagues he spoke to were worried about the tougher restrictions that other countries have imposed.

    - Many of my colleagues in Europe are concerned about this kind of restrictions. Partly they are not followed, and there is a weak understanding. Such rules undermine confidence in the authorities.

    He continues:

    - I would like to say that it is a very, very tricky experiment to lock in a population for four, five months.

The number of new job seekers in Sweden has doubled compared to last year.

At the same time, more than 18,000 people were notified of dismissal last week - which is the highest figure ever, the Employment Service announces during a press conference.

So one of my best friends has it. Caught it at the prison he works at. Said he had only one really bad day where he felt like death, but has overall been fine. Couple notable things...

-Despite having it, he never had a cough, and only ran a fever that one day he was really bad.

-Since contracting it about 10 days ago, he hasn’t had a sense of smell or taste.

-Though he had just one day of unbearable symptoms, a co-worker of his who also caught the virus (who is younger and healthier than my friend) has been on the shelf for a week, barely able to get out of bed.

-He said the test (swabs up your nose) hurts like hell.

USS Comfort arrives here in NYC.

The Javits center opens up for a temporary hospital.  The company I work for is building the extension right now and will be gearing to shut down this week.

Yesterday my 39 year old neighbor died from covid. His husband is still in the house recovering alone. His family is sending him messages through the front door and yelling up at the window but can’t hug him for fear of spread. It’s literal hell on earth.
