    I am a Ticket listener but I do like Russ. Both would be one of the few good things about Texas, along with the thousands of us who have kept renewing our 10 Club memberships and hoping for the Dallas, Houston, San Antonio or Austin announcement that does not seem to be coming.

    Agreed on the greatness of that show. It was my favorite, althoughl ooking back on the 93 OKC show it holds a special place as well. As does the 200o Porch and all the other great stuff they have done at the last two Dallas shows.

    I remember when I was living in San Antonio in 2003. One of those canned morning FM radio shows literally opened a discussion of "How you feel about Pearl Jam playing here," the oblique implication being that they were liberal and against the war and how dare they.

    well, ed says that after almost every show, everywhere. I wouldn't read much into it.

    I don't think ed's comments at those shows pre-saged a five-year absence. I think they haven't been back because they haven't been back.

    I've been there! It was sort of tradition to stop there for dinner on the way home from Colorado.

    I had a short layover on my flight to California for the 2006 Bridge School show. I hated having to spend just that 1 1/2 hours in Texas.

    Now that we are getting some of this out our system, maybe I will start the Official Play Texas Thread. It worked from the South!

    And we can list positive reasons like, "Please play Texas becuase Dallas County, with help from the Innocence Project (one of PJ's favorites) just cleared their 16th wrongfully convicted man through DNA evidence, more than any other county in the country."

    The Dallas DA, Craig Watkins, has made it a personl mission to right the wrongs of previous Dallas distict attorneys.

    I think he says it on the Dallas boot right after "Green Disease" and going into "I am mine." He says, something like "this is our last stop in Texas for quite awhile, so glad you could make it."

    That's kind of crazy though isn't it? How could he make a statement like that unless HE personally decided they wouldn't play here? I thought the promoter booked the arenas. Why would they segregate an entire state for five years or more?

    And we don't need any Texas jokes here..........

    Anybody thinking of Texas jokes to post let me tell you this. I'm from Miami and I've lived all over the country. I fucking LOVE AUSTIN. I wouldn't leave this place if they paid me. :)
