I absolutely love U2 but fail to see why you need to see them multiple times a tour.  I mean they literally play the same set and say the same lines every night. Too scripted for me.  Just my two cents.

I absolutely love (this other band) who changes about ten original songs on the setlist nightly but fail to see why you need to see them multiple times a tour.  I mean they literally play nine covers a show and shine white lights into the fan's eyes. And the singer says different lines every night. Lots of them. In between gulps of red wine. Not scripted enough for me.  Just my two cents.

    ;-)
I never pegged you as a nickelback fan.  Cool cool.

    Close.

More of a Staind fan. At least they can pick a decent cover

This thread just keeps on bringin’ it!

Hasn't been much of value in a long time. Please bring on the announcement.
PJ coming to Sacramento...bank on it! In other news...has anybody heard of Howard Stern? And what is is relevance today?
Extremely relevant in the coveted white male 55-65 demographic.

The last time I will ever wait in line was NYC pop-up Shop in NYC 2015. I almost missed the Colbert show taping and spent hours waiting in line for stuff. Never again!!!

Beware of the urban outdoorsmen this year when you line up for GA. They've become quite emboldened.  Also, make sure to get your name on the fan run list as soon as you can day of. There are no rules other than get on the list.  ;)

That's 2018 system.  2020 is list season, so get on the list.

Good luck telling agro-guy who threatens people..
  • I maintain they they once again announce no lines are to be formed before 8:00 a.m. (or whatever time). Then, they watch it. And on the day of the show, just before doors open, they walk to the first person that got in line at 8:00 and inform them they are in fact first in line.

The angry group of mouth breathers with numbers on their hands and lists on a clipboard who are in front of the first person to arrive at 8:00 would then be sent to the back of the line as they did not follow direction. Any mobs/groups starting an "unofficial pre-line line" get the same treatment. Change the system as needed, by show, in order to thwart their continued alpha bullying tendencies.

How was OKC confirmed? I live here and have seen PJ twice at Chesapeake and once at BOK in Tulsa. BOK is a much better place for a show and I feel like the band enjoyed the 2014 Tulsa show more than the 2013 OKC show. Logistically OKC would be better for me, but experience wise, Tulsa would be better IMO. I think it’s cheaper to put on a show there as well and would be 1:30 closer from STL. Arena schedule is open for the rumored dates as well.
    4-3-03 OKC
    11-15-13 Dallas
    11-16-13 OKC
    10-3-14 St. Louis
    10-8-14 Tulsa
    10-9-14 Lincoln
    4-16-16 Greenville
    4-18-16 Hampton
    4-21-16 Columbia
    8-20-16 Wrigley 1
    8-18-18 Wrigley 1
    8-20-18 Wrigley 2
    9-16-22 Nashville
    9-18-22 St.Louis
    9-20-22 OKC
  • So shoot me as I am a reader not a writer, however on this occasion I feel I need to step in and correct the nationality of the tall bald agro guy at Wrigley 2 2018.  Australians do have their fair share of characters like the one mentioned, however on this occasion he was not one of ours, he was American as the Stars and Stripes and Mom’s apple pie.

He and his friends had created there own line prior to the line up commencement time.  But as is often the case with jerks, Karma bites back. After the rain delay he didn’t make it back to the rail.  He was near some friends of mine complaining to security and wanting to be escorted back to the rail.  Not surprisingly security didn’t heed his demands.

But as previously suggested let’s return to the rumour dates in particular the order of OKC, Denver and Phoenix.

For sure wish Pearl Jam would do something like that with GA (similar to Springsteen and I believe U2).   Sometimes I think they are lazy in certain areas.
U2 had you come, get a number, then come back for check ins....the venue was part of the process and they gave out numbered wrist bands couple hours before...so everyone had a number FROM THE VENUE. So unless the band/tour want to do something like that with venues it won't change.
The Bruce-lottery has a few glitches but it basically works if venue is on board. I've had front rail (birthday show at Metlife) and stood in back of pit...it's all good just to be there...
Of course it makes good sense to watch out for each other around you ...

That is a very rose-coloured take on how it happens with U2.

The lines are almost always fan-run with the same people and often in conflict with the  local venue. Most often it's the same people who somehow manage to dedicate significant financial resources and time to following the band from city to city. The I&E and E&I tours (due to the staging) pretty much made this lining up for days business a moot point, yet there will always be people who wear lining up for a days as a badge of honour. It's a source of some pretty intense debate within the U2 fan community.

Bruce's people deserve a lot of credit for putting a stop to this.

Wanna buy a poster from today's show? $399.99 Buy It Now! But hey, the opening bid is only $159.99!

Crazy idea that would piss off a lot of tenured members, but would raise a ton of money for charity.
Imagine if PJ auctioned off some low, expired (no longer active) 10C membership numbers.
Think of how much money they could raise for their foundations.
How much would someone pay to never have to worry about the lottery again for great reserved seating?
Wouldn’t ever happen, but just a thought I’ve had in my head for some time.
Soooooo, a bunch of people that have enough money to throw around get to buy their way ahead of thousands of us?!??  No thanks. Sorry but this would be an awful idea.

Plus, it would only encourage more flipping.

    Ok Boomer.

    ;)
That should be on a tour shirt this year....
    I’m lining up now.

I am getting a tattoo on my hand of my GA line position.
Are the list, the hand marks, and the people controlling this still a thing? Is it worth it to try and line up for GA if you’re not part of this strange system? Just curious if others have had negative experiences with lining up for GA early.

Even if it is, to be behind those jackwads is still closer then the back of the pit...but there's more dancing room in the back and I hear the view is tremendous. (I was only in one pit maybe 10-15 rows back if I had to make a random guess. I was all the way on the side and it was fine.)
