How is this update any different than the Autumn 16 update? Sounds like the same thing that was going on 3 years ago. They better get some work in quick, since Ed needs to focus on his main priority, which is Ed. Ohana is in a few weeks, after all.
And a few months later its time to start planning the 2020 EuroVedder Tour again.

In fairness i dont blame him for that. Ive shown my family most of the country plus both disney parks from my business trips. Gotta time them just right.
Maybe next year Fall. They aren't close to having an album done. How is it going to come out in a month? This isn't Neil young we're talking about
I don't think it's likely, but we also have no idea how close the album is to being done.
In an interview with Jeff earlier this year he sounded pretty down on current state of the band and its inactivity. Hoping they have since picked things up but Ed hasn't been in Seattle much and if the Cubs make the playoffs we know what that means
As much as I"d like to see this, there's a lot of speculation here. I hate to say it, but it reads like an alternative nation article.
Following our previous articles,
we can now confirm that in these days the band is rehearsing in Seattle
some new material for their new highly anticipated 11th album.

That was February and this is now August. Again, we have no idea how close the album is to being done.
I thought Eddie said during the last Fenway show that it was the last time the band would perform live before they went into studio to work on their album. Did I hear him correctly? I did have a couple of beers that night.
It's basically all just wishful thinking at this point. I'd rather be hopeful than not, even though I don't really expect anything to materialize anytime soon.
I've seen people book hotels and plan travel for some random rumored show with less information than this. Interesting to see people blow this off so quickly, especially when a lot of the same people come here daily practically begging for any new news and rumors.

I think people are just frustrated by the wait for a new album and burnt out on what they see, rightly or wrongly, as a clickbait article.

RIght!? If anyone outside of Pearl Jam and the band's families/management knew anything about the state of the band, its Kim Thayil.
"Well, I think this band is incapable of sucking."

Sure. But there's a gap between what Kim said, and what is going on in this thread. That gap is the cause of the speculation. Kim only said that Matt is unavailable to work on the next Soundgarden album because of unspecified plans with PJ. So the good news is that Matt is available for whatever PJ has planned. Maybe a little tour. Maybe a show or two. Maybe some studio work. Maybe a holiday party. Maybe he's helping Santos pack boxes in the warehouse. Who knows?

This interview was from a month ago and really just tells us that Matt has commitments in the future with Pearl Jam doesn't it? Don't we already know this?
So far we have confirmation from Dimi that they are in the studio and a tour is in the works for 2020. We also have confirmation from Thayil that Matt has commitments in the future with Pearl Jam.
60% of the time their getting together works every time.

Had the Popeyes chicken sandwich today, fellas. Good stuff
we need a PJ album with the same hype and critical acclaim.
Between 1 and 10 how would you rate this sandwich? 1 being low and 10 being high

For fast food i give it an 8. It tastes unhealthier than ChickfilA’s but it just has more flavor. Granted i had the spicy one but man even the bread and the pickles are better.

Same day as Tool's new album, just like in 2006.
Also, tour to follow with rotating headlining by Pearl Jam, Tool and Guns n Roses.
