I hope I've articulated this well. Ha.Different kinds of hope, maybe? Taking action or wishing well.I hope my recycling helps the planet = doing what makes sense by taking action.I hope you feel better = wishing someone well.I think there may be other kinds of hope. I hope I can remember what they are, LOL."It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 -

Some accomplish greater feats in this realm and that's wonderful. I'm just doing what I can. Every individual's tiny dent makes a difference.0 -

Further proof that many humans, even those who seek the wonders of beautiful, high mountains, have utter disregard for nature. This boggles my mind- a rowing machine abandoned on the top of France's highest mountain, Mount Blanc? Four kilograms of chewing gum removed from a single mountain? Utterly disgusting behavior! Hikers that pull this kind of shit should be chained to a rock like Prometheus at the top of the mountain and have their livers pecked out by eagles.

Pack it in, pack it out, people. It's not the difficult a concept.my small self... like a book amongst the many on a shelf0 -
Also, leave it better than you found it - i.e., take out some of the garbage that you find when you hike.my small self... like a book amongst the many on a shelf0

When I lived up in Washington, whenever I took my young nephews out to the spit along the Strait of Juan de Fuca, we came back with bags of garbage we picked up. They were really cool about sort of making a game of it and any cans or bottles they found they got to keep the money when we cashed them in at the recycling center. And we had fun!"It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 -
That's all the environmental movement has is hope...there is no plan outside of world leaders holding more climate conferences flying all kinds of people on their luxury jets.

hat difference what thread I posted in. Its the same concept...those ignorant mountaineers are polluting Everest and have been for years. How 'bout this, instead of wasting money on climate conferences maybe they should see how much $$$ it would take for Nepal to shut down the mountain on their side for few years and get the mountain cleaned...as for the Chinese side...FUCK CHINA...Give Peas A Chance…0

It just sounded like something that maybe was meant for one of the other environment threads.Telling China to fuck off probably won't lead to any constructive measures. But maybe boycotting their plastic crap would? As for the climate conferences- I kind of agree. I mean, what is there to talk about any more? Now if the conferences were all about setting into motion ACTIONS, actually DOING SOMETHING, that would be useful."It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0

I have a small carbon footprint. My house is about the size of a 2 bedroom apartment, I cut the grass with a rechargeable lawnmower, drive a 4cyl Jeep, walk when I can, recycle...etc.Give Peas A Chance…0 -

I have to admit to feeling skeptical about these talks. Haven't we done this before? Has anything changed? Do people really need some politician to tell them to stop screwing Mother Earth? (I'm pretty sure I know your answer!)On the other hand, if they come through with some strong measures, it sure can't hurt. But then we need to stop bull shitting and start doing. We need more environmental warriors. I'm all for peacemakers, but when the life of the planet is at stake, we need more warriors- people with voices, strong pens, strong commitment to change, massive action."It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 -
What do you mean by ban plastic world wide? Not a complete bad I assume. Just a ban on single use items like bags and cups?
Because we wouldn’t even have computers and phones without plastic.
