I hope it works. This song hit me so hard. One night on the board, someone put this link up, and you know time passes you by and you don't even know what the day it can be...It just happened to be an anniversary of a death of an old friend. So much had happened from that time until now. I cried out loud. so I hope the link works and thank you to who posted this the 1st time.

edit---it stills work and I still cried.

thanks for this link momofglynn. i just got home from visiting my dad in the hospital ... he's doin' ok but is older and been through alot ... this song just reminds me of how precious the moments are.

It's actually a contemporary christian song and I don't know who sings it, but it's a lady. It's called "When the Sacred is torn" (or something like that). It's about a mother who loses her child and she struggles with her emotions but finds comfort in the end. It's very powerful. You can feel her pain when you hear it. It makes me cry most every time I hear it.
  • I don't think there is any other time in my life in the last few years that I actually cried when I heard a song other that Long Road from the 9/11 Tribute. I was hired to be a financial advisor and was supposed to spend a year in training for Morgan Stanley at the World Trade Center. During that time I was scheduled to be at Morgan Stanley's office that same week, but it got cancelled. What a strange twist of fate. In memory of the Head Security officer, he insisted that the entire office evacuate the building even though the World Trade Center intercom was telling everyone to remain in their desks and remain calm. While he was checking to make sure everyone was evacuated, the second tower was hit. When I turned on my tv and saw Ed and Neil, I broke down because I knew that i would have been a very lucky survivor. Just at that moment, I had just found out that I lost at least 3 friends that I knew working in the World Trade Center that day. Every time I hear Long Road, I am reminded of them.

So true! It shouldn't mess me up but it always does. No tears, though. It's more of a knot on my throat. It's just so... heavy.
  • I listen to Come Back a couple of days ago (a bit drunk/stoned) and when your in that state you REALLY listen to all the words and details of the song... I got choked... Amazingly sad song...

I find that most of the time when this happens is because something sad is going on in my life...

A couple of days ago I was really, really tired after five extremely hard days.
When I finally got the chance to rest I put on Vitalogy and just crashed out (without really sleeping though) on the couch. When Immortality ended I realised that I had tears in my eyes...

Thumbing My way in Zagreb! It was my 4th and last show on this tour, it's one of my favourite songs, I really wanted to hear it and was in 1st row. So when I finally got my wish fulfilled I just cried my eyes out for pure joy that I finally heard it live. :)

No crying, but giving me emotional feelings...it has to be Light Years by Pearl Jam. The single came out just some days after the Roskilde accident...I felt so bad that week but kept listening to Light Years...

  • the black "we belong...we belong..together,together" tag always gets me, its the way he sings it!

Sleight of Hand also makes me cry-almost every time i listen to it, i think its one of the most touching and honest pj songs

others just remind me of particular times in my life- what i was listening to or what album i was into at the time.

    ~>NOTHINGMAN from Prague

...just a few days ago when I heard it for the first time and every listen since.
DAMN! I just broke down in the workplace. Major PJ cry baby! :( :o

Something changed in me at MSG '03 when I experienced this one...it just completely ripped me apart. I'd always loved the song but it never had THAT kinda 'bawling my eyes out' effect on me before. For some reason everytime I hear it now it just really gets me. This Prague version is something else. :o

About twenty minutes ago, the live bootleg version of 'Black' in Antwerp ...
well, I must admit a few songs made this grown man cry on a friday-evening this night.

Music has the power to soothe even the most savage of beasts, so why wouldn't it make people cry ...
It has the right to :)

  • Parting Ways..tonight...this song is sooooooo sad!
  • Montreal '05: The first time I heard PJ play "Man of the Hour" I started balling like a baby. Just hit me like a ton of bricks. I connected the lyrics to my Grandfather. It's moments like that when you realize how much you love the band, their music and the whole scene. Priceless.
