You knew it was going to be a Yankee bench coach!

(Actually Zimm is a good choice just based on that whole fighting Pedro fiasco)
To be honest I don't know if there was a bench coach before that. That's the first I've heard of one.

I’m not sure which one of us loves Donnie more but based on this, and another thread igotid88 started, I think he’ll like this recent addition to my collection!

Was at my bros last night and we got to talking about how we would fight over his Don Mattingly rookie card when we were younger. So he laid out his current  Mattingly collection for me to see and we laughed. No fights, lol. The good old days … before clocks.

They didn't need clocks then, tho.  The times were similar.  That was before every step out, adjust gloves, your jock...then get back in and wait for the pitchers routine.
    Nice Donny love, there!

Yeah, I’ve already come around on the clock. I really don’t even notice it for the most part. The pace of play has been improved and I understand the reasoning behind the changes a little better now.

I think out of all the recent rule changes the only one that I really am not a big fan of is ghost runners in extra innings. Other than that, no complaints.

Seeing my brothers Mattingly collection was a trip. The Mattingly collection combined with the baseball card thread and going through my old cards has been nostalgic and kind of healing in a way. I’ve actually decided to start collecting again and have recently acquired a much more clean/crisp Mattingly rookie than the one my brother and me would fight over back in the day, lol.

A graded 10 might be a rarity but a raw one like this you can find on the Bay all day for $1. This was just an antique store find for $1. In nice condition though,  so I popped on it. Might use it down the road as a trade piece w/ my brother.

They have the same record at this point last year. Also they were expected to be better this year. This is year 6 I think of the rebuild. Was supposed to happen last year. But their free agent signings sucked in Wendle, Garcia, and Soler having their worst seasons. Trevor Rogers taking a huge step back. Jazz missing most of the season. Waiting for Jesus Luzardo to get better at pitching. They had no depth. Luis Arráez was a good signing this year. Wish Mattingly had him last year. Soler already has 5 hr. He has 13 last year.

This is a clear indication of the poor managing job by Don Mattingly.

Talking about Mattingly on the Yankees booth. Paul mentions how Mattingly knew the rock stars and mentions Eddie Vedder.

I keep trying to find how long he signed for. Upon my search. He said that he was contacted by a few teams. But it wasn't the right fit or something. I don't know if it was for a managerial position or coach. I wonder if he knows there will be a few opportunities next season.

Of course the Marlins are 10-0 in 1 run games. You knew they were eventually get the breaks.

14-1 bastards. And now they have an easy schedule coming up. Mattingly should have stayed
