Of course the Marlins are 10-0 in 1 run games. You knew they were eventually get the breaks.
14-1 bastards. And now they have an easy schedule coming up. Mattingly should have stayed

what if donnie doesn’t manage the bullpen like the new guy?

Doesn't matter. If you put the right guy in and he screws it up. How is it the manager's fault. For years Girardi was praised for how he handled the bullpen. The Yankees have had a top bullpen for almost 30 years now. And the top closers. He goes to Philly and gets killed for his bullpen moves.

Mattingly could have made the same exact moves. And the players would have lost the game.

Nice video. Although the way he pronounces Piniella.

If Jorge Soler had played like this last season before his injury. The Marlins would have had a winning record at this point of the season. Maybe Mattingly might have been convinced to stay and see this through. Sucks that he stayed through the tribulations of a rebuild.

The Marlins are so much better with their new manager this year. That change was just what that team needed.

I don't think he's doing anything different. Making the same moves. Helps that the offense is up when it's usually last.
Plus this is year 6 of the rebuild. Eventually they were going to show some success. Kim Ng made some good signings in the off-season.

fucking marlins are pissing me off. I mean they couldn't buy a hit in these situations and now are coming back and taking leads left and right

    https://www.nj.com/yankees/2023/09/what-yankees-legend-don-mattingly-thinks-of-the-mess-in-the-bronx-klapisch.html

"It was at this point that Mattingly circled back to our conversation’s starting point. He repeated that he’s not thinking about managing the Yankees – or any club – while working as the Blue Jays’ bench coach.

“I always try to be mentally where my feet are,” Mattingly said. “I loved the Yankees, but I’m on the other side now trying to help the Jays win games. I’m loyal to where I am. I was that way (managing) in LA and managing in Miami.

“I love helping young players, and that’s what I’m doing right now.”

I don't know if he's interested in interviewing or if he's even a top choice. But this is the order of teams I would like to see him manage.

    Mets
    Angels
    Giants
    Guardians

Pretty sure you don’t have to worry about your third choice.
