If I knew the Cubs were looking. I would have liked for Donnie to go there. Imagine Eddie and Don on the phone discussing the lineups

That Joe Torre quote above is really noteworthy. Donnie apparently played with an "edge."

Well he isn't getting any of the vacant jobs. He'll just continue to get blamed for the Blue Jays even though he isn't the manager

I see the jays hired an “associate manager.” Donnie gets further dissed.

They made Don offensive coordinator. I don't get these new titles.

What kind of bad start do the Blue Jays have to be in for him to get the manager's Jon? What if he gets fired? Because they always fire the offensive coordinator before the head coach/manager

dunno about that. dunno that any other MLB teams have an offensive coordinator.

that said, I’m always happy to see this thread bumped to the top.

  • I had a blast on Thursday night in Evansville, Indiana at the Mattingly Charities annual “Find a Way” benefit. Donnie Baseball is the nicest, kindest, most humble pro athlete I’ve ever met. He and his wife work tirelessly in their community to support not only things like youth sports and youth arts, but also mental health awareness, drug rehabilitation, and homelessness etc. They are amazing people who never forgot where they came from and always seem to do the right thing. I’m definitely making this an annual trip from here on out.

jim bowden predicts the blue jays manager will be the first to be canned….and their “offensive coordinator” will slide in. :triumph:

he also predicts fat vladdy will go to the giants at the trade deadline. I wouldn’t be a fan of acquiring the one trick pony.

As much as I want to see Mattingly manage again. I hope it isn't with Toronto. Boone has 1 year left with a club option. So here's hoping. Although Girardi is back in the Yankees announcers booth. And the last time that happened he became the manager the following season.

I would see so many Toronto fans blame Mattingly for Vlad Jr.'s numbers going down last year. And I have to keep reminding them he was on a downward trend before Mattingly came and only really had 1 great year
