I work as a music journalist, one thing needs to be said: never believe in things that musicians say in interviews / from the stage. Once talked with Maynard James Keenen and all his responses were: yes, right, I can't say. My point is that it's just smoke&mirrors.
Absolutely.

so please someone tell journalists to stop interview musician and begin to ask infos to people that writes on bands forum as alternativenation does!
no matter how cold the winter there's a springtime ahead
It’s not a festival. It’s their own show at the imola racetrack holding 100k people.
So there are no other bands playing?
Time will tell. Hope Reignwolf and Jack White will play at the same PJ show.
So a festival....
No.
Was Firenze a festival?
Yes , but with just one stage... ( and a pit which was huuuuuuge, and taking the mickey really ) But 5 acts in total per day and it spread out over 4 days... I went to see Ed Ved and The Cure. Good times and Florence is gorgeous!
Yeah. Florence is the best city. But Firenze rocks offered a pit that was just too much fellas.. I mean, I didn't feel at home. Like a moltitude of people who don't even know the lyrics or use the phone all the time just to take Instagram stories.. Nah. I prefer when there's just us and our band! Although Glen is great too
Yeezus people. Europe has these month long "festivals" where bands basically play headline shows every night for a week. EV Barolo was like that. Cork 2017 was the Marquee Festival. Not every festival is 3 full days on 8 stages with 120 bands, like Lolla.
I'm not saying that's what Imola is, I dont know anything, but when someone says "festival" in Europe, dont immediately assume a 90 minute PJ set.
You're right. But you know.. We used to see them playing like 3 hours. 2h concert is not the same.. But it's something. Hope they can play as long as they can 💪💪

2h 45m is the sweetspot.
Scientifically proven.

Foos got a 2hr 15 min slot at Stockholm Lolla this summer - i would assume PJ getting at least the same. Cut down on the speeches and 2nd encore break and it is pretty decent length
What did you expect? That he spills the EU tour? There‘s a reason it‘s not announced yet. Contracts, negotiations, money.
I'm spoiled from being a rush fan for many years. They'd always give fans a general sense of what is upcoming. Mike could easily have said "we might be playing some shows next year if everything works out." But as we know that isnt their style.

I don't know how much of a real sense any of these guys has individually. Mike seems eager to play more shows. In Rolling Stone earlier this year, Jeff seemed eager to record more. It's common knowledge they've been working on music on and off for several years.
It doesn't seem like they're all moving in the same direction and touring/recording is perpetually "in process."

I don't think they ever get access to musicians, hence why they post a bunch of shite

Would they play two shows in different countries on back-to-back nights? Assuming London on the 19th
No way. Is Hyde Park pretty much determined it is the 19th? Didn’t remember seeing that. Has to be a weekend so yeah, probably unlikely that they would do both Lolla Paris and Hyde Park.
Well it hasnt been stated that London is the end, just that there will be festival(s) at the end of tour. Could be London on Friday and Paris on Sunday. This would fit with the tour does not go logically, up down down up -hint

Last night SXM replayed the 7/17/18 London show which was the last European show. At the end of the show Ed said see you at Eurocup, we’ll be back...

Am I being unrealistic when hoping for a non-festival London gig?
I think the only chance would be a smaller gig further up north, but it's probably unlikely
That said, BST isn't going to be a typical festival scenario. The crowd will be PJ fans and I'm sure they'll play a good set. So some of the usual negative aspects of festival shows will be avoided. It's great they'll be back in Europe so soon.
Maybe this is the month they announce their release date for the new Album and tour
