The mood and atmosphere of this country is quite different now than it was in 2004. I would worry any VFC tour would become an easy target.
This is a totally healthy thought to birth into the world
Right. I birthed the thought into this world.

    Jesus Christ.
Just having a normal one and wondering aloud about a massacre at a Pearl Jam concert to stoke angst against perceived political enemies
Yep. That's what I did. Spot on.

Not sure what is going on with you these days but I hope you work it out.
"Easy target" + "open carry." What point were you trying to make?

That violence at these shows might be a very real concern. Particularly by this time next year. But claiming that I birthed this thought that no one else could possibly have ever had in 2019 America is either delusional or dishonest. Take your pick.

My wife has been voicing her concern anytime she/me/we go somewhere with a huge crowd since the early 2000's.  I blame you, JimmyV

I birthed the thought! I am truly sorry.

Wow, Not sure how that went right to a massacre. I just took it as the VFC shows these days would lead to some nasty articles on Fox News and other far right web pages. Mayer even some light protesting

I also took "easy target" in a figurative way. jesus. wtf?

I believe in being aware. I also live in a country where we've seen unprecedented mass violence in recent years. Schools are shot up, so too was a concert in Las Vegas. How many of us would feel comfortable in a VFC show across from an open-carry protest we had to pass on our way in?

    I certainly would not.

Someone get back to analyzing all 30 baseball teams schedules from April through September to figure out which weekends PJ is playing at all 30 stadiums. Allegedly.

Nothing would make me happier than to check this thread and see a legit tour rumor or lead.

LOL I am sorry for that too.

PJ , New Album End Of Year

Tour Announcement for US shows in Jan/Feb

PJ Summer Shows US - 20 ( mostly baseball stadiums , I hope not but I think that will be the case )

PJ Swing State Shows In Oct 2020

I hope they tour the whole world but living in the Northeast US ,  I really just want a show in Hartford CT , because it would not be Fenway and the last Hartford CT show in 2013 was mind blowing.

Back to tour/album..I finally listened to MM on Sirius.  My take is he was playing coy.  The last line of "I think it's going to be a cool surprise" indicates he DOES know what the band is doing.  I still think we see album late Nov early Dec.

  • Yeah, I guess I didn't really think about a possible shooting because they have become commonplace, which is sad. Two schools in my area have had non-credible threats this school year already, one that my kids go to, but with them having full time cops there now, I'm not as worried as I could be. Still kind of sad hearing your kids talk about the drills they have to regularly practice.

Hartford would be great to get back to. Will probably never happen now but I like to imagine an Albany > Saratoga > Bethel Woods run, too. And they are long overdue to get back to Montreal.

XL center is easily my favorite venue to see PJ. Would love to go back.
