Those are some good ones. I forgot about that Old Fitz decanter; wish I owned one. But that Double Eagle Very Rare takes the cake. That bottle is freaking amazing!
I have an Old Fitz 14 year that is really, really tasty. The juice lives up to the bottle.
I enjoyed it, especially for the price. It will not blow anyone away but its solid stuff and the best VOB I've had so far. Found it in Kentucky a few months ago. I'm pretty sure that's the only state its sold in. It's changing a significant amount the longer the bottle is open- becoming less cinnamon (which I prefer to happen).

Just brought in 3 cases here in Nebraska
Oh cool. I read varying things on that so I wasn’t certain. I know I never saw it in NY though.
It’s one of those bourbons I’m enjoying and think “they could have charged more for this” haha
Did you get to help pick the barrel? If so, what made this one the best? Just curious because it sounds like an awesome gig.
I was part of the tasting panel. But honestly it was so long ago I forget. We'll be doing a side by side next week with the new bottle, the barrel sample, and a generic Eagle Rare.
I haven’t seen Eagle rare in Toronto for a while now. It was a common bourbon and always in stock, but Not anymore. Too bad it’s so hard to get, I really like this bourbon.

Don't be that guy, lol.
I'm picking up a bottle of New Riff Balboa Rye today. I have high hopes since I love their core releases.

My store offered me a bottle the other day. I passed. $150 is way too much for that imo, even at retail.
We'll be doing a side by side next week with the new bottle, the barrel sample, and a generic Eagle Rare.
Blanton's
Eagle Rare
Any Weller
The hype around these bottles is absurd. Put Blanton's in a normal looking bottle and it's comparable to most whiskeys in the $30 range.
Store pick of Eagle Rare for $35 is a great price though. I laugh when I see it on the shelves in NY for $75-$100.

Blantons at $60 I could stomach. Any more than that and I'm out.
Weller and H Taylor stuff has skyrocketed too. The taters are having at it!
