Really, what’s it going to take? More than 15 lies per day? A few more key cabinet positions left unfilled? An extended government shut down past Easter? Further erosion of America’s stature in the world? An ineffective response to a terrorist incident? A couple of jet liners colliding due to overworked traffic controllers? Are the Team Trump Treason supporters proud?

We all should be insulted no ? I mean he really believes that because he will make a televised address we will all be convinced of such an emergency , I know he’s base will def believe him ..
Remember the debate a while back comparing Trump to other authoritarian dictators like Hitler and Stalin?
Making up a national emergency and holding an Oval Office address to the entire country is another dangerous step in that direction.
I hope to god the big networks will fact check him live in the lower third and provide a detailed, honest discussion about the facts after he’s done talking.
It’s been scary. Now it is ratcheting up multiple notches...

Yes, doing such a thing is a SERIOUS escalation of the insanity..... One that I don't think is going to be allowed once it hits the courts. But just the fact that he has the fucking nerve is beyond disturbing, and absolutely an indication of just how very dangerous he is for America.

This is why I can’t get on board with the whole “Pence would be worse” thing. Pence has a few worse social philosophies, no doubt. But I don’t think authoritarianism would really be on the table. The GOP and the 40% would not follow Pence down that road. And for as much as I dislike him, I don’t think it’s what Pence would want. Trump does. He cannot deal with procedures, checks, and balances getting in his way. Not surprising. What is surprising is the GOP’s willingness to allow it. The further down the path we get, the more likely the GOP chooses to allow it. They would rather be in power that way than disgraced and in second place. If Trump wins a second term, I really believe America as we know it is in jeopardy.

Yeah I've always argued against the "Pence would be worse" people. Trump is worse on SO many levels....

I was thinking about this today. I was wondering what neighbouring countries thought of Germany in its initial phases of fascism.
I know much of Europe and much of Germany initially thought Hitler and his cronies were a bit of a joke.
It it is incumbent upon current and future generations to understand how such events came to be. And, of course, it is paramount that people do everything they can so that history doesn’t repeat itself.
This is why gumbies that tell everyone to ‘relax’ and insist McDonald is ‘harmless’ while they support him kinda tick me off. It means one of two things: either (1) they are really stupid... or (2) they are callous and on board with the insanity.
Either of the two scenarios present people who just aren’t very great in my books.

Yes, I remember it well. Where are those posters? On board with Team Trump Treason? Embarrassed for being wrong? Conjuring a way to justify it so it can be so easily dismissed? Or still in denial that any comparisons could or should be made?
Who’s tuning into the propaganda tonight? Over/under on the number of times Team Trump Treason utters and snarls the words “security,” “illegal,” “rapists,” “murderers,” or “drugs?” How quickly will he veer off script? 5,10,15, 30, 45 or 120 minutes?

You folks realize this thread has become the proverbial echo chamber that liberals love b/c of your crazy presumptions, idiotic links and refusal to actually listen to anyone that doesn't agree with you?
First - on Hitler comparisons - first - at "worst" you have to live with Trump as President for another 6 years. If he ever tries to do what Bloomberg did in NYC with term limits, then you can worry. The Cult of Obama was/is no less in numbers than the Cult of Trump.
Second - on the relax - we survived Carter's Presidential incompetence that really almost sunk the country both financially and internationally, you'll be ok. It's not meant to say that some (much?) of what Trump does sounds and is ridiculous. The point is - pay attention to what is ACTUALLY happening and not what you IMAGINE happening. For example:
1) Do you agree or disagree with Prison Reform? 2) Do you agree or disagree with a reduced military presence in the Middle East? 3) Do you agree or disagree with MORE people then ever having jobs, average salaries increasing and an increase workforce participation rate?
Trump's rhetoric is no different than Obama's other than he says it in a less politically correct way. I don't mean no different in that you don't agree with one and disagree with another.
Honestly, if Pelosi was smart, she'd give Trump a way out of the corner he's boxed himself into. She's playing as much politics as he is. The difference is she says it with language that is more palatable and easier to understand to many. But, that's paying attention to style over substance. Substantively, they are putting their lines in the sand while posing that there's no middle ground. Now, what we need is grown ups on both sides to negotiate and come up with a compromise on illegal immigration. We've lost the common thread - I would think we all agree ILLEGAL immigration must stop. We don't agree with Trump's definition of that. It's a negotiating posture. Maybe, a poor one, but that's all it is. No different than Pelosi's - no wall stance. I actually agree with Pelosi - a wall is silly. But, I don't reject the SUBSTANCE of what Trump is getting at- we must come up with a firm new policy on ILLEGAL immigration. The fact the left wants to wrap that in emotional stories is no less manipulative than what Trump is doing. Funny thing is - compromise is something that Obama failed at and why many of his policies failed to get implemented. He wanted a rubber stamp from Congress (different METHOD, but same MADNESS as Trump), and they wouldn't give it to him - which is good for both Presidents - thus checks alive and well. All or nothing on either side is not what this country is. We are moderates. Compromise is critical. And the Pendulum swings (so another on the relax- a Dem will be President again).
So, again - ignore the noise - debate the issue. So, one final agree/disagree -
4) Do you agree or disagree that we need to have a firm, effective policy on illegal immigration?
Now, Pelosi - what's your idea? Not allowed to punt it (As you are trying to do which is the politics as usual that got Trump (and Ocasio-Cortez) elected). You must answer with a clear, concise policy alternative to the wall. C'mon - I know nobody's made you do this in years. Not comfortable? Too bad. Answer the question. What is your policy idea on illegal immigration reform? Doesn't it bother you that her response does not include a sound policy alternative?
End. Start blasting away with incorrect assumptions and ignore the actual substance of my soliloquy.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

Regarding the Nazi Germany/Hitler comparisons: without the advantage of hindsight afforded to us... it's not up to us to decide which steps and attitudes parallel the course taken in the past are worth condemning and which ones are just 'silly' and not noteworthy.
Regarding your list of reforms: I do agree with measures of reform. I disagree with what McDonald's ideas are for reform and I really disagree with his methodology for achieving his ideas for reform.
Pull the troops out of the ME, but systematically with the plans developed by military experts (even though McDonald has stated he knows more about these things than anyone on the planet).
McDonald's legacy for any financial credit or failure will be felt over time. No president assuming office from a regime that ran the country for 8 years will have any impact on jobs until the 'new' policies have taken full effect.
You asked what needs to be done about illegal immigration. Didn't your border security just turn back a caravan without the 'erection'? Is it not a possibility that you can devise a system of border control that achieves what you want without a moronic wall that will cost a ton, eventually be 'another' obstacle that will be overcome, and serve as a canvas for Mexican spray paint artists?
1) of course. 2) GTFO of the middle east. But slowly. with a plan. not just leaving one day creating a vaccum for terrorists. he is single handedly going to create a new ISIS. 3) of course, but that question requires context. do we simply employ more people at any cost to the environment? clean coal, anyone? 4)make harsher, MUCH harsher penalties for those that employ people of non-legal status. boom, there's your "wall". but it's not about border security. it never has been. it's about him building a monumental structure that will be historically linked to him and his "leadership vision". he found a way to gain support for a nonsensical structure by way of whipping up racists and fearful idiots into a frenzy.
