Not to get all history wonk, but he was wrong on so many levels. The obvious is the fact that AJ was dead by 1860, but also that SC was ready to fire on Union troops during the Nullification Crisis under AJ. He precipitated the crisis with the Tariff of 1832 and it was Henry Clay who ended the crisis, not Jackson. That was what was so astoundingly stupid about Trumps statement.
The right had latched onto AJ because he hated the elite and the National Bank and was a populist, but his history is far more complicated. And Trump proved just how little he knows about so many things.
actually he handled that very well, he had a rat reporter trying to set him up and he shut down the rat very efficiently, he beat the reporter at his own game, I watched that clip many times and it just kept getting funnier every time.
You realize it was Trump who brought up the surveillance issue right? And then of course when pressed by a real reporter, he literally had nothing to say to support his argument. That...is what's funny and...quite sad.
You're embarrassing yourself by trying to defend this.
like I said, he beat the reporter at his own game and refused to be lead by the nose into disaster.
like him or not he handled that situation very well.
how is asking him a follow up question to an erroneous claim he made "beating him at his own game?". he's showing he's incapable of any type of reasonable dialogue. and that he will get called on his obvious lies. that never happened to him as a private citizen. that's obvious with how he handles it.
glad you're here to set it all straight, thank you.

I'm sure it never dawned on Trumpito that AJ was a stone cold slave owner.
so was George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and quite a few other Presidents...
George Washington rotated them back and forth from Philadelphia to Virginia when he was president (Philly was the original capital I believe) because Pennsylvania was a free state and if a slave remained in the state for a certain period of time they were released from bondage via law... so to avoid that Mr & Mrs Washington rotated them back and forth... his favorite slave, a female, actually ran away when he was President and he openly offered reward for her capture and obsessed about bringing her back... all while sitting as the 1st POTUS... just heard a fascinating historian talk about ti on the radio and I believe she wrote a book about this woman
apparently Mrs Washington was known to be quite harsh with the slaves as well

All part and parcel of our nation's sordid history.

LOL, I was just going to post same thing. Beat me to it, Jugs!
LOL ! no gay jokes allowed, guess it's time to go back to making fun of Rednecks.
I thought that was a great segment by Colbert the other day. He's really not holding back at all these days. How was that a gay joke? He basically just said Trump has a mouthful of Putin's little toy soldier. It's an insult for sure. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/HaHwlSTqA7s?list=PLiZxWe0ejyv81axeQ8uL6vqqlveqTpKDb" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Lots of checks next to those Immigration plans, but not so much on the Obamacare side. I'll give whoever wrote that tiny list on a white board credit. Not easy. Should have been listed in the 100 days accomplishments.

Right which is why I brought up Indian Removal because his role in that is very specific to him. It's a real blight on his presidency. You can applaud his fights with the US Bank and Nicholas Biddle, his denunciations of the "Corrupt Bargain" which he was clearly a victim, but the Trail of Tears is what his legacy shoulders. Along with the fact that he almost precipitated the secession of SC vs being able to stop it as Trump claimed. Idiot.

It’s time to seriously consider that Trump is unfit to be president
In a matter of 72 hours, while celebrating the "achievements" of his first 100 days in office, he spoke in a manner unbecoming a U.S. president, sent inconsistent — if not dangerous —messages to allies and adversaries alike.
To add insult to injury, he invited Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, accused of committing genocide against his own people in his war on drugs, to the White House. And he said he would be "honored" to meet with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, calling him a "smart cookie."
Of course, at the same time, he was threatening a pre-emptive strike against Pyongyang.
Talk about cognitive dissonance!
He said he didn't understand why the Civil War couldn't be "worked out" and suggested that Andrew Jackson might have been able to stop it. Nevermind that Jackson was dead 16 years before the Civil War began and that he, himself, owned 150 slaves.
(Frederick Douglas, who the President recognized not too long ago as " an example of someone who has done an amazing job and is being recognized more and more," is likely rolling over in his grave somewhere close to Jackson's.)
In an utterly incomprehensible interview with CBS anchor, John Dickerson, the president rambled on about his unfounded allegations that President Obama "wiretapped" the incoming president.
When pressed for details, he then summarily, and on camera, dismissed Dickerson from the White House.
His own chief of staff confirmed that the president has looked into either amending, or abolishing, the First Amendment. The bedrock amendment on which this nation was founded is an apparent insult to presidential prerogatives.

orange bafoon university ? you must have went to school deep south of the Mexican border, we don't have that in the USA LOL !
Here's the thing now about Trump, everyone, except his supporters, everyone, from both sides of the aisle to the Russians, Chinese, North Koreans, Syrians, Germans, et. al. know that he's full of bluster, unknowledgable and lacks attention to detail and the finer points of whatever is being negotiated and, that he's reliant on others who are novices or have hidden agendas. As a result, Trump is easily played and what you're about to witness is the raping of America by his ilk and the rest of the world. Until he's impeached of course.

Right. The impeachment that's been spoken about with no feasible routes to get there. The Emoluments Clause was the most plausible route mentioned, and yet where's that lawsuit, 104 days in?

The investigations are ongoing. The GAO doesn't issue press releases, They don't talk to the press. They report their findings to Congress and then it'll be public. The FBI investigation is ongoing. I think there is a lot of shocking things they know and have discovered and the repubs are strategizing on dealing with the fallout. Its bad and it goes to the top. Members of the intelligence committees from both sides of the aisle that were briefed behind closed doors were reported to be shaken. The head of Britain's equivalent of the NSC felt the need to speak directly with the head of the NSA, not through regular channels. This ain't no disco, this ain't no fooling around. And this ain't no witch hunt. Politically motivated or otherwise. And its not going away.
