    Hey funny story.

I just got back from Arizona.  In the PHX boarding area awaiting the redeye back to BWI there was a family.  Super young mom and dad and infant.  The dad had the face of someone who had packed way to many years into way too small a space.  He also had an ankle bracelet and malfunctioning USB cord to go along with his POS off brand cell phone.  They were wearing outfits picked from a pile of donated clothes.  No shoelaces.  He handed an her empty bag of peanuts to her and she pushed her finger deep into the crevice of the bottom of that bag to barely get a morsel of broken peanut.  She wore nothing but appreciation for that man of hers on her face. He wore a mixture of excitement and concern that his burner phone's charging light kept shutting off after about 15 seconds

Because I recognized the situation and I'm not a fucking asshole, I gave him my Micro B cord and bought them a chicken wrap sandwich.

Don Trump woulda had them shot.  He has to go.  NOW.

That was what a good person and good American should do. Good for you! I'm sure they appreciated it.

I'm trying to figure out how many people were eyeing them warily or 'reporting' the 'scary' people to airline security while you were being human.

what's funny is that this morning, like at 630, I was driving to the airport and listening to Morning Joe.  Scarborough mentioned that the Sox were hot and obviously it was because of Trump and couldn't understand why he hadn't tweeted it.  Hour later... tells me that Trump probably watches Morning Joe still.
I was watching Morning Joe and he says stuff every day to goad the President into a stupid tweet or make him insecure. It's quite satisfying actually because 45 never disappoints.

Trump says he stopped watching but he watches them everyday and like time work a tweet will come out about some issue you know that Joe or Mika, but Joe seems to get the most joy out of it, had been discussing to press his buttons.

He actually said that he was surprised that the President hadn't claimed the Red Sox turn around on their WH trip, because he loves to take credit for what other people do. About an hour later - poof, there it was.

I guess only the white players were doing the winning.

That is a great thing you did.  Nothing wrong with being kind, who knows what they've been through in their young lives...maybe your kindness gave them hope that they did not see before...

that's pretty great that you did that.  i'd like to think i'd do the same  but to be honest i would hesitate to offer food in that situation. never sure how someone would react to that type of offer.

I could see it being a pride thing. But if your wife and child are hungry, you take the food.

I used to buy an extra coffee and a breakfast sandwich in the morning on my way to work in Manhattan. It was for the homeless people who were situated near the little bodegas. Sometimes they took it and didn't say anything, which was fine. I just wanted to let them know that I saw them, instead of walking by them like they were a fire hydrant, and hopefully give them a meal.

Most just wanted money and when I'd offer the breakfast, they'd spit at me or yell at me. Addiction sucks, I personally understand that and I am lucky that homelessness was not part of my story.  I can't imagine how horrible it must be. But I wouldn't give them money, so I'd offer to the next person. People need to eat, no matter their circumstance..

yeah, a few months back someone outside a Tim's was asking for money. I told her I'd be happy to buy her breakfast. She proceeded to order the most expensive thing on the menu, but at least my money didn't go to booze. and she seemed pretty grateful.

He had an even better response on Jimmy Fallon last night, which I suppose could be called elitist, but I found to be great...
