trump gave out two more medals of freedom today. one to gary player, who used to be a proponent of african apartheid.

    shocker.
However, in a 1987 interview with The Los Angeles Times, Player disavowed the system of apartheid, stating, "We have a terrible system in apartheid...it's almost a cancerous disease. I'm happy to say it's being eliminated....we've got to get rid of this apartheid."[40] In an interview with Graham Bensinger, Player discussed his early support for apartheid stating that the South African Government had "pulled the wool over our eyes" and that the people were "brainwashed" into supporting these policies.

    People can change.

Oh come on. Apartheid views from 60 years ago? What's that got to do with anything?

If Nelson Mandela was good with Gary Player, I don't think that should be an issue in 2021.

Am I allowed to laugh at this or not?

Some of Trump’s supporters pack bags to leave Washington

    By Hannah Natanson

As daylight filled the streets of the nation’s capital Thursday, Jerry Reis, 59 and wearing a red MAGA hat, walked slowly out of a hotel two blocks from the White House. He and two friends supervised as a bellhop helped them pack a large American flag, a box of Budweiser and a stuffed eagle the size of a Labrador into their truck.

“You packed it better than we did in the way down,” said Reis, a small-business owner who said he drove from Michigan to participate in the protests. The bellhop wore a mask; Reis did not, although one of his friends had pulled on a cloth face covering stamped with the Confederate flag.

“You guys ready to go?” The bellhop asked.

“Hell yeah,” said Reis, with a loud sigh.

Reis had been so hopeful about how things would go Thursday. But now he felt “letdown,” he said, because a small number — “very, very few, for the millions that were here” — of the pro-Trump protesters had gotten out of control.

No one should have broken into the Capitol, or climbed statues, Reis said. He said he and his friends had walked up to the steps of the Capitol building Thursday, but did not go inside.

Still, Reis said he was glad he came. Both as a gun owner and small-business owner, he is dreading the incoming Biden administration. He said he will cling to every remaining day Trump has in office, although he acknowledged the president’s tenure will end Jan. 20.

Christ!!! Rumor going around my shithole town and I’m assuming any other place with where dregs gather...some Trumper from here was in DC the last few days. They’re claiming none of this  happened, lost cell service while it was going on, and were shocked to see the reports of violence when they turned on their TVs. What fucking planet are the assclowns they believe this shit living on? A 30 second perusal of any social media will tell you what they had planned and debunk any of these outlandish theories.

There are also Trumpers who believe the Capitol break in was carried out by Antifa despite several known Trump supporters taking selfies in the building.  These people are deluded idiots.

I live in one of those shithole towns you mention where Trump dregs reside.  I'm told that yesterday, along U.S.Highway which parallels our Main street  by a half block away, about 100 Trumpers lined the road with flags and pro-Trump shit.  Symbol-minded idiots with shit for brains.  I fucking hate this place.

They will definitely vote to impeach I am betting. I also bet Pence and the GOP senate do not have the guts to go through with the 25th. Impeachment can happen in days and through a couple of scenarios can keep Trump from not being allowed to be on the ticket in 2024.

how incredibly stupid do you have to be to wear ID around your neck to a fucking protest. it doesn't even matter if he had intentions on storming the capitol or not. that is just insanely moronic.
