    The cocktail of drugs he took is eating away at what little brain power he had remaining.  
    There's a theory that the reason he walked away from the bargaining on the stimulus is that Goldman released a memo today that the country would recover faster under a D sweep, and so Trump is angry and just taking the everyone down with the ship.  It's sort of like when Hitler said fuck it, and took all of Germany with him, rather than stopping the unwinnable war and committing suicide.

    All he wants is the 1200 stimulus and a repeal of SS tax until the end of the year.  The latter will never happen and the former will never happen on its own.  
    Remember when he said "I'LL SHUT DOWN THE GOV'T" and how that blew up in his face?  He did the same thing today, walking away from the table as a bluff, except that this will lock in perceptions that he is the one that couldn't get a deal done.  He thinks real estate negotiations are the same as political ones.

    Say what. You mean Eddie Van Halen died. Man, I had no idea I've been staying out of the news lately.  May he test in peace one damn good guitar musician. 

    2020 surely has been brutal on musicians. While posting this I'm hearing Johnny Nash has died as well, brutal just brutal.

    yes eddie passed away yesterday. he had been sick for several years and took a turn for the worse a couple of weeks ago. i am still not ok... he is one of the guys that inspired me to pick up a guitar and learn to play, along with randy rhoads, jimmy page, cobain, and stone gossard.

    dem rep Ro Khanna came out and said  last night about a stimulus bill:

    mnuchin ssid he wants to support the liberal stimulus bill that has been passed by the house.

    "the problem trump has is not pelosi or the house democrats standing in his way. it's mcconnell." "mcconnell will not bring it to the floor unless there is gop majority support for it."

    trump can pressure mcconnell and get a win on this, but he is not doing that. i think trump is in a weakened position and he lost mcconnell on this one. especially since he keeps sending mixed messages on his own support for the stimulus bill. he said that he tabled it until after the election and then a few hours later he said that he is ready "to sign now". so exhausting.

    The Democrats want extended unemployment benefits.  The nature of compromise is that you make one.  You don't flip over the game board and walk out like he just did.  Stupid.

    I didn't ask about Trump or Pelosi's individual negotiation strategies.

    Do you think it's a good idea to pass something immediately to put $1,200 in each adults pocket? I guess maybe you answered that - not without a bigger payout.  

    To be clear - I'm not saying - to the exclusion of all other ideas. I'm just saying - are you against doing something that immediately gives each adult $1,200 without doing anything else in that bill?
