Just so I'm clear here, I'm not trying to be a dick but Tucker Carlson is a terrible human being and I'm always a little bummed out to see his opinion about anything being shared. I'm sorry, I didn't even click on that video, he hurts my brain too much. So nothing personal about you, it's more about him.Ledbetterman10 said:

Even up here in Canada I hear plenty about what democrats stand for. I suggest you guys find better sources then TV ads and Fox news.
But you have all the answers, so tell me, what are the Democrats running on? Because that's was the question: what are they running on right now during this election cycle? Not "what does the democratic party stand for?" We all know the answer to that.
NOW they want this to stop after their horrible 2016 loss. American elections have been meddled in for decades.
Protecting medicare.
This is why they'll be getting my vote.
Stopping voter purges and gerrymandering.
Democrats are just as guilty of Gerrymandering. You should see how they changed the Pennsylvania districts.
Against rampant irresponsible deficits.
Everyone not in power says they're doing this.
Common sense gun reform.
They say this every election.
Against slashing taxes on the ridiculously rich.
They say this every election.
Against trickle down.
They say this every election.
For DACA and immigration reform.
What kind of immigration reform?
They are for providing a check on the executive branch.
Somebody's gotta do it. I wish them luck.
These are just a few off the top of my head. I listen to a lot of podcasts. A great one is Pod Save America, it's out twice a week. They have democratic candidates on every show who explain what they stand for.0 -
Fair enough. We all have people on TV, in music, in sports, etc. that just drive us nuts.dignin said:

I'm not sure that's 100%. When analyzing party affiliation by education level, it's pretty rock solid that the more education one has, the more likely one is a Democrat.my2hands said:

Are you saying that it’s not obvious why Team Trump Treason sucks and it needs to be explained to voters? Seriously? Then what should we do with the Team Trump Treason voter/supporter? Respect their point of view? I’m at a loss understanding the MAGA crowd. They’re not racist. They’re not stupid. They’re not Christian? So, what are they? Scared?Ledbetterman10 said:

Nigerian army posts Trump video to justify shooting Shiites
Nigeria's army on Friday posted a video of US President Donald Trump saying soldiers would shoot migrants throwing stones to justify opening fire on a Shiite group this week.

I don't think respecting their point of view is up your ally. Rather, try to figure out why they have that point of view, and how it can be changed. That's what the democrats are tasked with. And it's a tall task.Halifax2TheMax said:

I personally see plenty of local American political ads. I see them everyday on American channel feeds (out of Washington and New York). And you're right, they are generally localizing the issues, and yes, healthcare is the main issue that's being sold.mrussel1 said:

The local ads I get are all for or against a single democratic candidate. I have yet to get one mailing for the republican candidate opposing him, but plenty general ads against not supported by the actual republican candidate. It's all about immigration, taxes, healthcare and 2A. The only really new topic this cycle is the bigger focus on immigration. The rest are just the hits.PJ_Soul said:

I can’t respect their point of view because of what it represents. There’s no “reason” or “rationality” to their view. It’s based in fear and looks to the past, a past that no longer exists.Ledbetterman10 said:

It's not that I don't see your point because I do...but I also think to generalize 60 million people as all being the same can't be right. For every person at a MAGA rally chanting "lock her up," there's probably hundreds that are completely reasonable people.Halifax2TheMax said:
I can’t respect their point of view because of what it represents. There’s no “reason” or “rationality” to their view. It’s based in fear and looks to the past, a past that no longer exists.Ledbetterman10 said:
I don't think respecting their point of view is up your ally. Rather, try to figure out why they have that point of view, and how it can be changed. That's what the democrats are tasked with. And it's a tall task.Halifax2TheMax said:
Are you saying that it’s not obvious why Team Trump Treason sucks and it needs to be explained to voters? Seriously? Then what should we do with the Team Trump Treason voter/supporter? Respect their point of view? I’m at a loss understanding the MAGA crowd. They’re not racist. They’re not stupid. They’re not Christian? So, what are they? Scared?Ledbetterman10 said:

I work as a probation officer in a pretty red county and I think I'm one of the only ones in my building that voted for Hillary. But I know that not everybody in my building is a stupid, racist, Christian. There has to be more...

If you had to take an IQ test to cast a vote (something that's actually reasonable- you can't have Simple Jack voting when he doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground), Trump would lose in a landslide. His base wouldn't qualify.

But that is to suggest a Team Trump Treason supporter or a candidate who supports Team Trump Treason is “reasonable.” I’m arguing that that defies “reasoning.”Ledbetterman10 said:
