And if you need someone else to explain that to you, there’s no hope.
Jeez you are just a caricature of all the liberals that that Trump whips his base into a frenzy over. I can almost see why they buy in. Almost.
Are you saying that it’s not obvious why Team Trump Treason sucks and it needs to be explained to voters? Seriously? Then what should we do with the Team Trump Treason voter/supporter? Respect their point of view? I’m at a loss understanding the MAGA crowd. They’re not racist. They’re not stupid. They’re not Christian? So, what are they? Scared?
I don't think respecting their point of view is up your ally. Rather, try to figure out why they have that point of view, and how it can be changed. That's what the democrats are tasked with. And it's a tall task.
I can’t respect their point of view because of what it represents. There’s no “reason” or “rationality” to their view. It’s based in fear and looks to the past, a past that no longer exists.
It's not that I don't see your point because I do...but I also think to generalize 60 million people as all being the same can't be right. For every person at a MAGA rally chanting "lock her up," there's probably hundreds that are completely reasonable people.

I work as a probation officer in a pretty red county and I think I'm one of the only ones in my building that voted for Hillary. But I know that not everybody in my building is a stupid, racist, Christian. There has to be more...
But that is to suggest a Team Trump Treason supporter or a candidate who supports Team Trump Treason is “reasonable.” I’m arguing that that defies “reasoning.”
I think someone who STILL supports him, yes, but not all the voters are racist deplorables. I'm sure a good portion of them are regretting their vote.

Do you know anybody personally that has voted for Trump? I ask this because to not even consider that a Trump voter may be "reasonable" suggests (to me anyway) that the only Trump voters you're familiar with are the MAGA hat-wearers and Fox News talking heads.

"A Native American grandfather talking to his young grandson tells the boy he has two wolves inside of him struggling with each other.
The first is the wolf of peace, love and kindness.
The other wolf is fear, greed and hatred.
Which wolf will win, grandfather? asks the young boy.
Whichever one I feet, is the reply."

That isn't what it suggests to me. Unreasonable people don't have to be overtly so, or cletuses or anything. Unreasonable people come in a lot of different forms.

They don't have to be overtly unreasonable. That's true. But Halifax is suggesting that over 60 million people are unreasonable because they voted for Trump.

I think there are plenty of reasonable people that still support trump.  They are willing to separate out the complete nonsense that they think doesn't effect their immediate lives (Gays, racism, sexism, etc) because Trump delivers tax break, supports gun ownership, and is the first person in a long while doing something about illegal immigration (not that I agree with his work there).

I could not do it.  I could not separate out the lack of decency.  The hatred towards gays, minorities and women.

I do.  Several.  Most of them are lifelong Republicans and they cringe when I bring up the amoral and immoral part of his personality.  A strong majority are in business so the corp tax cuts in particular are appealing.  I do business with a large number of medium size businesses (10MM to 100MM EBIT).  They are voting to make themselves a bit richer.

Said another way, more than half of the people I deal with are lifelongers.  The older they are, the more likely they are to be that.  However, none of them are MAGA's.  I don't know anyone with a college education that believes the carnival barking stuff.

I think this is absolutely the case. They're not unreasonable. You can argue maybe they're immoral. But is it immoral to worry about yourself and not someone else that may be negatively affected by the Trump presidency? I dunno, that's not for me to decide.

Well yes.  But then that gets into "how much is enough".  These are wealthy people who are looking to buy one more Audi R8 to match their Alpina.  I guess it depends on your definition of "understandable".  It's understandable under the seven deadly sins and human nature, but not understandable because most Americans on the right side of the spectrum consider themselves Christians and then completely ignore the teachings of Christ.

Do you know anybody personally that has voted for Trump? I ask this because to not even consider that a Trump voter may be "reasonable" suggests (to me anyway) that the only Trump voters you're familiar with are the MAGA hat-wearers and Fox News talking heads.
Yes, and they’re racist (I limit my social interaction with them as a result) and climate change deniers and love the tax break at the expense of the deficit, which they were vehemently railing about when Obama was in office. Team Trump Treason’s 35%-40% base is the racist, misogynistic, ignoramuses. It’s the other 60% that also voted for him and maybe still support him after the past two years that I’m struggling to understand.

I do.
Okay so they're reasonable. And they cringe when you bring up how awful Trump is because they know it...but they're looking to take care of themselves first. Understandable.
Okay... Reasonable selfish a-holes then. You're right.
Many of them are not assholes.

That's a matter of opinion. I don't think it's possible to vote for a man like Trump and not be one, unless you're so stupid you think he's telling the truth or something, but in that case you'd have to be on board with the horrible things he's said and done still.
