    from last night's rally:

"You'd be doing wind, windmills. 'Wind'. And if it doesn't -- if it doesn't blow you can forget about television for that night. Darling I want to watch television. I'm sorry, the wind isn't blowing. I know a lot about wind. I know a lot about wind."

he is easily the stupidest president the US has ever had.
Are you unable to recognize comedy?
I am, and this wasn't it. He has on numerous occasions made reference to both wind and solar power, demonstrating an utter lack of knowledge on the subject of alternate energy sources. He is a dotard.
Another you can add to the list is his notion that global warming equates to heat. After Amy Klobuchar announced her candidacy in a snow storm, Trump was like (paraphrased) "Global WARMING? Look at all the snow! How is that warming?"
Global warming does equate to heat. That is why nobody uses the term anymore. Once the "heat" stopped "Climate Change" began. And now we only have 12 years to live.
Yeah but Trump was basically suggesting that "how can there be snow if there's global warming?" And he used the term global warming...not climate change.
Again. That is called comedy. He is making fun of the believers such as yourself.
Doubtful. But what he is doing is confusing his less educated base, who believes he is the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ and takes his word as gospel.
You don't understand who his voter is. It's been 2 years and so many of you have yet to figure it out.

    DEPLORABLES.
Yeah, that worked great in 2016 lol

just because it was disastrous for HC to say it, doesn't make it false.
It’s false. But keep on believe it was only deplorables

People who support Trump suck. It's that simple.

    It really is.

I know I'm way over the top with my depiction of (most of) them, but the bottom line is... they suck. They do. When you attach yourself to such a foul, loathsome individual... it says a ton about you. There's got to be waaaaaay more Americans better than this. I cannot imagine a second term as much as I fear one.

You don't have to search for reasons to dislike Trump. Corrupt. Lying. Immoral. Racist. Narcissistic... and on and on and on.

Didn't that fat tub of shit just call Schiff 'pencil neck'? Forget the times he mocked a disabled guy... a war veteran (as a coward no less)... a woman who just had plastic surgery... and on and on and on. Hey. Shut the f**k up fat f**k.

What's the upside? Seriously? There's not one.

Are there any decent 'high profile thinkers' supporting this worm? I honestly cannot think of one.

I encourage everyone to share their actual connection with Trump voters. I'll start.

I engage with Trump voters all the time. I've got Trump voters in my family (siblings, in-laws, cousins, etc). Some are spouses of best friends, some are colleagues. They range in academic intelligence from college educated to high school drop out, six figure incomes to welfare beneficiaries, redneck country hicks to country club executives. One is Native American. One is African-American. I know a few people whom I suspect are secret voters as well, but I've never brought it up.

I have interesting, civil conversations with many of them, and sometimes I completely agree with their perspectives. Some of them are impossible to talk to, so we don't talk about politics at all if I can avoid it, particularly my two brothers. I was with one of them last Sunday when the Barr memo appeared. Our two minute exchange ended when he insisted Hillary Clinton was going to jail, just you wait. Apparently the only reason she hasn't been indicted yet is because "they didn't want it to look like revenge after the election. They're just waiting."  How did I not know that? The worst time was the weekend of the Kavanaugh confirmation vote. We had a family gathering that weekend, too. That was rough.

After we survive what feels like the end times, though, all these people will still be my family, friends, and colleagues. My life isn't worse for knowing any of them, and some of them I couldn't imagine living my life without. Some relationships are strained, but we make it work. It's too bad that not everybody understands how to relate to people who are different from them.

My sister and her husband in Cleveland,  who are much older than me,  are Trump voters.  And I think their views suck and they suck how they approach the world.  I still love her,  but that doesn't mean they don't suck. My sister just refuses to discuss it. I point out how our dad was an immigrant and he faced prejudices and that's why our last name isn't Rosul.  She replies that she is allowed her prejudices.  She knows it's wrong.  I don't bother talking to my brother in law for unrelated reasons

    Fair enough.

For myself, it's not a matter of 'how to relate to people who are different from them'. It's a matter of 'there's so many great people out there that care about things... do I really care to bother with a moron'?

When I was younger... I tried more, but I've discovered that 'mature' people don't change very often. I'm not into wasting any time at all with some goof that thinks Trump is awesome. He's a f**king idiot. Pure and simple. And if one doesn't understand this... or worse... looks the other way... sorry, but I'm just not into you.

It's true the racist ones suck. My brothers and one of the wives I tell all the time they are being racist. . . . The rest of the people I know vary in their degree of it. The one I talk about race the most intelligently with is the Native American. She is absolutely fed up with the left making everything about race and gender and class. Her Trump vote was absolutely her taking a stand in the culture war. And she makes a lot of sense in her argument. She's also college educated and receives welfare benefits and has mixed race children with a black man.

I guess I'm just suggesting people be careful about the broad brush they paint with.

Facts matter. Team Trump Treason supporters are being played. And for who? 1%? Listen and realize, in but one example, the impact of 2008. To their own detriment they buy in.

I have an extended family member who is a Trump supporter.  He's also a top notch outdoorsman. He's backpacked most of the Pacific Coast Trail from Mexico to Canada.  He had major back surgery and I asked if he was going to be able to backpack again and he said in no uncertain terms, "Oh yeah!"  The guys is a rock.  He's generous- he'd literally give you the shirt off his back. In every way he is an outstanding person for whom I have a great deal of respect.  Yet he supports Trump.  Yeah, I don't get that one either.  But with all of his other outstanding characteristics, who an I to berate the guy?  In many ways, he's a better man than I.

I bet there were many klansmen in the 30s doing a lot of good things to, when thy were not riding around in white hoods.

The same with nazis. They were not keeping up the movie-villain schtick when coming home to their family after a long day at Birkenau.

People consist of both good and bad. Not saying your friend is equal to Kiefer Sutherland in Jury: A Time to Kill or Ralph Fiennes in Schindler's List.

But supporting someone verging on being a white nationalist and above that is a crook and REALLY DUMB - still says something when you can support the other guy (Hillary or whoever) instead.

I mean, Climate Change is already slowly destroying our planet, so have fun backpacking while supporting a guy who doesn't even know what climate change is, stopping the fight against it, and I bet hurt small animals growing up.

And what's the point of insulting them publicly then? If you already weren't going to engage with them, then engaging with them to put them down only serves to further separate you from them.

    Worse than pointless - destructive

Edit: Just wanted to say here, you don't have to respect Trump voters, but you still need them to consider voting differently if you want to assure a win. Unless you at least show them basic respect, why wouldn't they feel validated in their stance of opposition? Again: having respect for, and showing respect to, are different.

he is easily the stupidest president the US has ever had.
Or he knows that he can say basically anything and his fans, such as yourself and your brethren in the picture below, will buy it.

I believe I have proven my intelligence.
If you support Trump I would say you really haven't.

See my edit. If you want to talk idiocy, I don't see any logic in purposely creating a rift between yourself and people you need to come around (to get their votes, to reduce the future votes for Trump, to move the social fabric in directions you want). If you feel they're immovable, then you make someone else's job of convincing them that much harder, because you produce more animosity and discredit your side before the debate even begins.

If you have to suck up and treat people like children when they choose to support a person like Donald Trump and everything he stands for, then they really are idiots.

But I guess that's just how it is, a huge big grey mass of idiots that both parties need to try to court every election but if they're not careful then BOM! suddenly they can fall for a racist, bigoted climate change denier.

Maybe I didn't articulate my position properly. When I say to show respect, I don't mean suck up to people, nor do I mean treat them like children. On the contrary, have an adult discussion that isn't a race to the bottom of the barrel about whose side is more deplorable. Call out appeals to emotion and strike them down or demand facts to back them up.

I don't think this is such a radical concept that lacking this respect will only result in the potential for more division. If that's what people want though, the further Splintered States of America, power to them.

If I'm understanding you right, then absolutely. And in that case, I just wouldn't engage with them, because that's the most productive conversation I can have with them (no conversation). We've only got so much in the fuel in the tank each day, and I think it's important to reserve that for productive thoughts, ideas, and conversations.

The Buddhists say that when you support evil you are evil.
That when you support evil in any way, shape, or form you are evil as well.
The same goes for racists and racism.
That when you support racism and/or a racist in any way, shape, or form, including  voting, that makes you a racist as well.

To be fair... banning bump stocks is more than Obama did

With a republican congress that absolutely refused to give him a win. On anything. Because he’s black.

Can anyone explain what Team Trump Treason has given Dems? Besides a ban on bump stocks?

I'm not sure that bump stocks were identified as an issue during his presidency.  I only remember hearing about that after Vegas.  Might be wrong.  But don't forget that Obama had real gun reform on the table and could not get it through the Senate.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault_Weapons_Ban_of_2013
