I think people will indeed truly be living on Mars in colonies in about 200 years or so, and I'm glad they are laying the foundations now. It's gotta start somewhere, and the sooner the better, because in 200 years it probably won't be an option, but a necessity.
Team Trump Treason asked the administrator of NASA when he expected a manned mission to mars and he replied with 2050. Team Trump Treason then asked if he could do it before the end of his term. Clueless.
He caved because he never believed in the wall... the idea was proposed to him as a way to garner political support, he threw it out there, it did well for them on twitter, so he ran with it...

I'm not so sure about this.
He definitely is being controlled by various people with various interests, but I think his interest in the wall was more than pleasing one of his puppet masters.

He made the "Mexico will pay for it" promise when he didn't think he would ever get elected. Like many issues related to this admin, his people have to scramble to make his stupid promises come true.

It will be many thousands of years before Mars is more habitable than Earth.
I don't think there is a plan to terraform Mars. That is generally accepted as impossible. Just to build structures to live inside of. Think Total Recall. This will for sure happen in less time than millenia. Many parts of Earth are already becoming uninhabitable right now due to excessive heat and lack of water. Thise areas are just going to increase in number and size from now on. meanwhile, the human population continues to grow exponentially. Humans are definitely going to need to spread out, off of Earth. That will likely include the moon, Mars, and really big space stations. This isn't crazy talk. Just think about how fast technology expands. In a couple of centuries the technological leaps humans will have taken from now will be insane.

Yeah, I thought someone said we were going to need to live on Mars, implying that the Earth will be too fucked up. Maybe I was over-inferring, but I've seen that claim too many times.

It will definitely be too fucked up for everyone to stay there. Too much of Earth will become uninhabitable to accommodate them as the population keeps growing at the rate it is.
Or a pandemic will wipe out half the human population. That is also possible. Or an asteroid will kill most or all of us. There are a few things that could jist stop us in our tracks before we manage the leaps forward in technology and space habitation.

And unfortunately for him he made it the CENTERPIECE of his campaign. A dumb, simplistic solution for an enormously complex issue, that was never going to work, and was never going to get funded. This is what his presidency was and is built on.
All right, now we're seeing the ridiculous spin. This actually came out of a WH aide's mouth.. of course he couldn't come up with the names of any of these Democrats...
"What changed was that we had Democrats from rank-and-file positions come to us and say, 'Listen, we ran on safety and security, our constituents don't think walls are immoral. They don't think locking their doors at night, protecting their own families, is immoral. We are not like Chuck Schumer, we are not Nancy Pelosi's puppet, we want to work with you guys to come to a solution when we open the government, to actually build barriers around the southern border,' " he said.
I'd like to see him in the race but I fear that similar to how 2008 was Hillary's best chance, 2016 may have been his best chance. But the circumstances are way different so ya never know...
Team Trump Treason already lowering expectations for his stupid border wall. I hope the Dems make him fund it through an EO, further sticking it to those who support him and creating a precedent for a dem potus to fund something near and dear, like gun control or abortion on demand. Just to stick it to and to own those cons.
I watched the movie: 'The Florida Project' over the weekend. Plot follows people living in a no-tell motel in Orlando. After it was over I reminded my wife we will never live in Florida. Pretty good movie though, would recommend. Had Willem Dafoe in it.
Americans’
rating of the president across a range of issues and character traits has
declined, with particular drops among independents when it comes to health
care and the deficit.
There couldn’t possibly be a PTape as we all know Team Trump Treason is the most moral of them all. Majorly moral. Most moral like you’ve never seen. More moral than the Moral Majority.

is that for real? Lol

When you think about...it's actually perfect.

My Ukrainian comrade... he's got the best tailor the American public can buy. That's just a teeny weeny hand on the end of a really delicate wrist.
