I think you mean Obama legitimized it. The hacking took place during the Obama presidency. Obama did not "punish" Putin or Russia.
Why has this subject gone on the way side in the news? Because of distraction from other stuff .Or propaganda this is so bad .Why is he and his cabinet not Impeached???????

You have to be kidding?
Why? Do you dispute the chronological order of events? Obama was president during the hacking incident and for a long time after. He had every opportunity to respond and other then an insignificant expulsion of diplomats he for the most part let it go. The Trump administration meanwhile has for the most part been unexpectedly confrontational eith Russia since the inauguration. Russia had it waaaay better during the Obama years and it is almost impossible to see how post-elected Trump policy "legitimized" hacking.
Fortunately there is a media blackout on the issue in France, which I believe is normal for weekend voting. But it's the exact same thing that happened here. Supposedly it's the same Russian team, Wikileaks was involved along with 4Chan. What a cesspool.

And that's why Flynn was caught talking to the Russians about lifting sanctions. Because Obama was ineffective with them. And what exactly has Trump done to be confrontational with Russia? What is this confrontation that you speak of

Get off those right wing blogs and join us here in the real world my friend
What did I say that is different? The sanctions are for the most part targeted at individuals. Do you think that was a tough enough response? Do you think Putin was deterred from interfering in elections again?
Perhaps you wanted Obama to nuke Moscow on his way out the door? I'm pretty sure in a normal world with a normal POTUS-elect the next administration would have taken the baton and continued to investigate and take action as needed... especially considering inauguration us only 2+ months after the actual election... but we both know Trump has refused to acknowledge or cooperate with anything russua-election related...
Not to mention the investigations of this issue while Obama was POTUS and the attempt to protect the documentation because they knew Trump and his team would want to scrub it asap... but these are things you refuse to see for some reason so we can't agree on most things related to this
Obama kept a boot on the neck of Putin via sanctions since Crimea... took action within weeks of the election, openly... protected the outcome of related investigations... and openly took a generally firm stance towards Putin's Russia for years... meanwhile your boy Trump has been giving him a verbal hand job publicly for 2 years... and all you want to do is put it back to Obama? Seriously? Ridiculous brother

Put it back on Obama? I think what frustrates me the most on here is when people fail to read through threads. I am responding to a statement that said Trump "legitimized the hacking" that took place when Obama was president. It was on Obama to respond and even democrats agree that his response was late and weak. Now since that time Trump has not lifted one of those sanctions or expulsions. In addition he has taken tougher stance against Russia in Syria. He has sought to bolster NATO through increased funding by member states. He has approved Keystone and opened up American energy exploration which hits Russia in the pocket book by bringing down the price of oil. He has put THAAD missle system on Russia's eastern doorstep and I don't doubt he'll have missle defense up and running in Poland soon. He has blocked Exxon from an exploration deal with Russia. All of these are actions that Putin does not like and not a single foreign policy analyst has said Trump has been easy in any way...if anything he has completely exceeded everybody's expectations on that front. To push on with the Russian stooge talk is just more silly nonsense at this stage.

Hahaha that one must make you dizzy to spin so hard!
Because deploying THAAD missile systems are such that they can be done within a few weeks of taking the reigns of an administration. Never mind the host country, negotiations, logistics of deployment, etc. It's just like moving around the pieces on your sand table in your basement. And what is that about Syria? You mean the 59 cruise missile strike on an empty airfield or the Turkey, Russia, Iran no fly zones? Keep believing the brilliance professor, keep on being brilliantly blinded.
Something that has gone unmentioned is that there are a lot of open government positions because there no candidates. People who would otherwise be interested in a position in a Republican government are shying away from this one. For good reason.

Is that the whole reason or is it because Bannon wants to destroy the administrative state and one way to achieve it is by not filling the roles, especially at State.

It's a combination of President Bannon wanting less government and people not wanting to be associated with the Bannon regime.
