Vote count isn't evidence of racial issues not playing a factor.

Really, compare the numbers. Numbers don't lie.
    What numbers are you comparing?

i agree with you on this sentiment...and i feel "old" (im only 37 for crying out loud) for believing this but seriously i cannot believe what I have seen from the younger generation...seriously safe space, legos, and playdoh? colleges cancelling exams and giving students time off?
every generation bitches and moans about the next generation like a bunch of old kooks on their porch waving their rifles. our parents gen said the same bullshit about our gen, and here we are, engaged, intelligent, and motivated.
Totally. I say this all the time, and it always turns out the next generation is better than the previous.

mostly our generation (x' s and y's) just elected a sexual predator as President. i have hard time believing we are better than that past and surely not better than the WWII generation. so yea i don't think that is necessarily true.

I think we all know why republicans won. Because middle America identified w/ their candidate over the Dem candidate that in no way appealed to the average American, in fact, she refused to talk but actually hid behind endorsements. She needed Sanders supporters votes yet treated them like garbage. Meanwhile Trump, who's a blatant minority and women hater gets support. Go fucking figure.

They are both 1%ers, protecting their own, only their own. But someone had to lose: and that's the average American.

What numbers are you looking at? Only 37% of young voters went with trump. Old people always vote republican. It's harsh, but I'm looking forward to gradually fewer republicans in office as those old people die off.

Yep, it is hard to believe that she couldn't beat him. Guess America thinks less of her than they do him.

    She lost. Move on.

False....she won the popular vote by 1,000,000+. They definitely think less of him.

She won the popular vote. That means MORE people voted for her than Trump. That means it doesn't make sense to say that America thinks less of her than Trump since MORE people voted for her.
Thankfully we are not a democracy.
Doesn't matter...she got more votes therefore it isn't logical to say that more people preferred Trump.

Again, this was the two most unpopular candidates in US history. Thousands of people left the presidential choice blank on their ballot, many of these voters living in Michigan, where nothing is being done about the water crisis.

    People preferred neither.

Sadly, time marches on and eventually you and I will be those old people. There's always a new crop of old people coming up, and yes, a higher proportion of them will vote for more conservative platforms and a higher proportion of the younger people will vote for more liberal platforms. It's simply the way of the world.

i don't consider Gen X and Gen Y (well maybe some Gen Y at end of spectrum) as young voters. Gen X surely isn't young.

basically Trump had the excitement all the way. Vagina-gate put a stop to that. Everyone expected it to be over at that point. And that's when the Dems went to sleep. Very simple. Very much like watching so many heartbreaking football and basketball games.

Gen Y just got morphed into melennials. They voted for Clinton by a large margin. There's still a significant conservative bump with gen x who had their brains warped during the Reagan years.

He also had 3-5 rallies a day while Clinton was taking a nap or doing fundraisers...Access Hollywood deal should have buried him but when the other candidate has their own trail of issues he was able to fight all that off with the help of Wikileaks and the FBI

When you run two of the most of the unpopular candidates in history for President, one of the most unpopular candidates in history is destined to become President.

She depended on a Hispanic, black and woman vote that really didn't show up for her. I think her and her team got too cocky and thought it was all in the bag.

Oh wait, I have. "Racism" is STILL chosen by American as a lesser evil. The country would rather be called a racist (even if they are not) by a wacko leftist than be an actual leftist or be forced to follow leftist policies.

You're overgeneralizing with your 'our country' reference. You've now made a conclusion about the election and you're going to force everything to fit that conclusion.
Is that worse than you forcing your policies on me?
