What a goddamn train wreck. This was like watching a couple of biddy basketball teams scrimmiging to see who represents the US in the next Olympics.

Hillary should have moped the floor with the clown, but she clearly didn't. An even push at best.

Not good considering she has been training and prepping in seclusion for months.

Wow, I don't even know how to respond to this. We must not be watching the same debate.
Take the blinders off. This should have been a live assassination of a clown. This looked like the Zach interview.

Not sure we are watching the same thing, although it is 3:30am in the UK and I am drinking so I am happy to be wrong.
I was thinking that if the 10-15% of undecideds are watching this - they ain't undecided any more, and it is all coming up Hillary.

I think the number of undecided voters is pretty much nil ... but there are a lot of voters that have the mindset of fuck both these candidates and are not interested in voting. Hillary needs to shine in these debates to pull those people in. I don't think she accomplished that tonight.

    Why assassinate someone committing suicide?

That is the attitude the GOP had for a year before the nomination ...
  • I don't think tonight changes anything. Status quo.

Trump really does not sound Presidential. His tone, his vocabulary, his incessant repetition...he actually makes me appreciate Romney and McCain.

Hillary won this debate by any way you measure it. The question is whether it will matter?

She's already been president for eight years......

Thank you for the honesty. And to your question, who knows. Any other election cycle I would say his election is over....but not this year.
  • He's gonna lose it. Wait and see.

    Yep.

So because Trump didn't completely implode he gets so that much credit? He avoided worst case scenario and that means they were even at best?

Should have been playing Witcher 3 instead ...
  • I've said this before here for months and months now. Would love someone to provide me a well founded set of reasons why this racist, misogynistic blithering billionaire idiot, erm, sorry, 'businessman' should be president? All ears.

It wasn't even close in terms of scoring a debate but I am not sure Trump had to actually win the debate to win the election. Again it is a "change" electorate so he just had to come off as acceptable i.e. you could visualize him as President, which I believe he did (not to the haters of course). Hillary who I thought did very well though probably didn't convince anybody that she is likeable or improve her honest/trustworthy numbers. The biggest win for Hillary in my eyes is that she looked very healthy and people underestimate how strong the visual of her 9/11 collapse really was. This performance will go a long way in counteracting that image. The biggest win for Trump IMO is that love him or hate him he is still balls to the wall and so gosh darn entertaining even when he drives you nuts.

What is the problem with this? People age civil and friends even thought they have completely opposing views, is that not a good thing?

I didn't take it as a evasive post. Just a cute little joke. :)
And it is an adorable photo btw.

Fair and as someone who is opposed to everything W stands for politically, I think we need a whole lot more of that these days

Total letdown...I expected more. Usually presidential debates help my insomnia this one at least kept me awake.
Trump hardly answered the questions, didn't address the issues except that how horrible things are, repeated himself and rambled. I think he had a few good moments but certainly not enough. Trump may have resonated with the average frustrated taken for granted American voter.
Hilliary at least addressed the issues, was coherent and believable, although totally full of shit, especially on for profit prison and economy crash and wall street. It's difficult to debate an outsider with no political history but she did a decent job sticking to her plan rather than Trumps non sense, except for a few rehearsed gratuitous digs at Trump. Hilliary solidified her base and maybe persuaded some leaning Trump to seriously consider her.

I like how the bimbo trump supporter on CNN (can't they find a smarter trump supporter? never mind) tells the black man how trump's stop and frisk is what the black community wants to hear. like she would know.

The Obama's know that George W Bush is an extremely decent man. There is nothing more to it then that. One day people will look back in shame to how he was treated.

Yes me too... it helps that GW seems to be turning into this kind of oddly snuggly, affable guy in his age, lol, all politics aside (he still did some unforgiveable shit as a leader of course, but what's done is done), and this photo shows that to a tee. I didn't mean evasive btw. I meant negative. Fucking auto correct. :)

  • I thought I read that the photo of W and Michelle was faked.

I'll chime in and say W. has grown on me over time. I absolutely hated him while he was office and I still think he was pretty bad. But, at the heart of the guy- I believe he has a good heart.

I think he is a good person who means well but was a terrible president with terrible ideas.

That said, he has done more for Africa than any president ever and the Laura bush foundation does incredible work for libraries

It's a shame Cheney had so much power...he would be remembered very differently

Weeeellllll.... in his current role (whatever you might call that besides retired), sure. But I would still never underestimate his willingness to totally abandon morality if needs be and and/or if the price is right. Remember who we're talking about here. Now that he's not a politician it's easy to forget what he's capable of.

 It's true! I totally noticed that! I actually enjoyed how she did that. Kind of clever as well as amusing.
