Five years is the rough average life span of a commercial laying hen. A common chicken lays 1-2 eggs a day, though some chicken superstars will lay up to five. However, they sleep the second it gets dark, til the moment it gets light. In the commercial laying scenario, they keep the barns illuminated 24/7, to keep production up! Poor chickens!

Having been the human master for both cats and dogs in my life, I can say confidently that there is absolutely no reason to hate cats, they are soft and somewhat affectionate, and they are excellent for rodent control.
On the flip side, they have less than half of the emotional depth of dogs, they poop in the house, they are more allergenic, and often show little to no affection at all.
Nothing to hate about them, but not that much to celebrate either lol
