    From toolband.com:

    PRESS RELEASE:

Fear Inoculum’s release caps off over a decade of speculation and anticipation, with confirmation of the release arriving in May as the band flashed “August 30” from the stage as they performed two new songs: “Descending” and “Invincible.”

As August arrived, TOOL released their back catalog via digital service providers, seeing Opiate, Undertow, Ænima, Lateralus and 10,000 Days rack up in excess of 20 million streams in the subsequent 48 hours and occupy the top five spots on iTunes’ Top 10 Album Charts. 23 years after its initial release, Ænima re-entered Billboard’s Top 200, arriving at #10, with Lateralus (#16), 10,000 Days (#18) and Undertow (#19) landing in the Top 20. TOOL’s debut release, 1992’s Opiate EP, made its Billboard chart premiere, arrived at #59. The band also broke records that week: taking four of the top five spots on Billboard’s Hard Rock Albums chart (the first act to achieve that feat upon digital release) and claiming 15 (of 25) spots on Billboard’s Rock Digital Song Sales chart.

The title track arrived as details surrounding the collection surfaced, including a limited-edition CD version of Fear Inoculum. The collectible offering, which was conceived by and directed by Adam Jones, features a 4” HD rechargeable screen with exclusive video footage, charging cable, 2 watt speaker, a 36-page booklet and a digital download card. A list of retailers who have remaining stock of the groundbreaking package can be found here: http://smarturl.it/TOOLFIa. A vinyl release will be announced soon.

7empest, damn, so fucking good!  The record is a lot to absorb in one sitting, but really enjoying it so far.

I know music is all subjective, but the level of effort and detail these guys put into their music makes most bands sound like amateurs!

I wish they'd hurry up and let us know about a vinyl release - I really don't have any use for cds anymore, but I really want to hold something in my hands!

Sweet mother of crap this album is amazing. I just listened front to back for the first time, & with the exception of Descending I hadn’t heard any of it. I’m floored. I can’t wait to listen again & again.

I’m officially eating crow about my “gimmick” comment regarding the cd video screen / packaging. This is amazing, and worth every fucking penny.

Listened to the album to and from work during my commute, commute isn’t long enough so haven’t completed the album yet! Looking forward to hearing the rest and the album and finding time to listen to whole thing front to back. I love what I hear so far!

Loving it so far.  My husband said, "This isn't A Perfect Circle, it's not Puscifer.  It's TOOL."

    And it is.

Second time we saw them was at the Staples Center here in LA.  Looks like it'll be the fourth, too.

    C'mon, October!!

I like it, but I'm not as compelled to listen to it several times like previous albums. I'm going to need some time and more dedicated listening experiences to get in to it more. It's great that they've gone to a completely different musical experience on this album. They really do a great job of displaying growth in their musicianship so as to not really repeat anything from previous, but build on it.
    It's a hopeless situation...

Those interludes are almost necessary after these songs. To reset and get ready for next 87 min song. I’m loving it. But it’s going to Take a lot of time to properly rate this album,  honestly.

Pneuma is becoming my 2nd favorite Tool song behind Lateralus.  What an amazing track

Adam's tone when he plays single notes up the neck is one of the best guitar sounds I've ever heard. It'll take time to digest the songwriting and the songs themselves, but the tone and musicianship you can get more immediately and both are just fucking phenomenal.

I’m genuinely overwhelmed after my second listen through.

7empest could be on Undertow. I’m impressed with how heavy this is.

Chocolate chip trip could have been cut but the rest is phenomenal. Pneuma and invincible are the early favorites.
