I was legitimately excited to see the Metro, I didn't get a chance in 2013 since I was in line the whole time. I guess I should've chosen a different emoji in my comment.
Im not sure you will be able to see much, they usually sell the merch for shows in a small shop in between the actual entrance and the Smart Bar
Ok, I understand what you mean. I wasn't aware of that. It's just an iconic place in my mental history that I've always wanted to see, even from the outside. Kinda like MSG was before May. Thanks for the info.
Yeah, I am just guessing too, maybe they will open it up and have tables set up inside. What do I know. Just going off past experience
ok cool, I will make a point to visit after this madness is over. I know we are speaking hypotheticals here so no worries. at least you have some past experience to speak from. growing up with blind melon and henry rollins "live at the metro" plus many other bootlegs has made that place famous to me. thanks again
I'm a lucky man to count on both hands the ones I love.
People just need to calm the f*ck down with the bitching about merch. Doesn't matter what they do, people get pissed and bitch.
This guy has been cool enough sending teaser pics and info about what's being sold, and somehow he gets shit on for the Wrigley merch situation WHICH HASN'T EVEN HAPPENED YET!

I'll be there Saturday too although I'm slightly embarrassed to be part of the madness that seems to have scared off/pissed off the pj merch guy. Are we really that much crazier than other bands fans? I guess I'm naive in ways. I really have no complaints personally about Fenway merch although I didn't have the chance to buy a Thomas poster myself bc I arrived Saturday morning and was told that they were sold out Friday. I was fortunate to get one bc an awesome forum friend hooked me up.

So who exactly is MrTSurt? What is his role as it relates to PJ?
I have the same question. I'm new here.
I thought the merch situation at Fenway was super easy. I got to Fenway at 4:30 waiting in line for 20 min and got everything I wanted. They still had stock in like 95% of the items. I saw atleast 6 or 7 stands inside the venue that were fully stocked as well with minimal lines.
Not a great year to have a popup shop exist around the stadium with all the activity around the stadium.
Not to mention the Cubs are in town all week and the team has been butting heads with the alderman regarding ongoing plans for a future outdoor beer garden. It would be no trouble at all to find some space outside Wrigleyville for a pop-up shop, but then that introduces logistics issues for the actual physical merch. No easy answer for the guy.
Some of ya'll need to seriously chill and stop acting like you have the magical solutions that that band and their people haven't explored. Everyone thinks they can do it better from the comfort of their own home with no experience or knowledge of the variables of the situations. I feel for the guy - he doesn't need to post teases on IG, he doesn't need to interact with fans and answer your questions. He could just wait until PJ posts their official Wrigley merch info and let them handle it. But he doesn't. He gives you teases and information. And he's probably just overwhelmed with a very busy month and probably doesn't feel like listening to internet comments anymore about how awful everyone is at doing their job, and how he should do this, or that, or hey have you seen our 500 page petition for poster pre-orders and don't forget flippers suck and where's my poster why can't I have my poster.
I get it. If I were him I'd shut all my accounts down and stop being nice if it's really that bad.
They don't owe you a Wrigley timetable. They don't owe you anything. You bought a ticket to concert and that's it. Anything else is just a level of entitlement that I don't understand. "well we'd stop if they gave us some information". Maybe they aren't READY to give you information. Maybe they don't work on your schedule. Maybe things are still being finalized. And maybe it's not up to you when you get to find out.
I know we as a fanbase can be crazy, especially so when it comes to merch. I don't doubt this guy has been flooded with questions. But am I alone in thinking it's a little weird to post an official response to people's reactions to something that hasn't yet been officially announced? Feels like cart is fully before the horse.
I agree, and also agree that he's probably just drained from all the comments he read about Fenway. However, I think he should just suck it up and let it go. He is running a business after all. If someone has a legitimate concern he should address, ignore all the other garbage. That post really does not sit well with me as someone who has been nothing but patient (and not to mention dropped an embarrassing amount of dough on Fenway merch lol). It feels like one kid messed up, and all the kids are getting scolded even though the rest of the kids had nothing to do with it.
You just read my mind. Except for me dropping some dough at Fenway (which I would have if I had gone )
I probably have enough crap for the both of us lol
Ahhhh we do love our crap I saw someone tweeting the hell out of him about shoddy merch. And in no way am I judging I was looking forward to just seeing everything & deciding which few things I'll go for. But seems this crazy train is full steam ahead & forgetting to make a pit stop at the station.

I like how everyone is all "they should do this" or "they could put a shop here/there" and "he must not know the PJ fan base" etc. I am quite sure that Tsurt LLC has explored every option available. Wrigley is under construction. The Cubs are still in town. And Chicago certainly isn't the easiest city to obtain business permits and go thru all the legalities and red tape to set up shop.
So who exactly is MrTSurt? What is his role as it relates to PJ?
I have the same question. I'm new here.
TSURT has been handling PJ's merch for years, so I'm sure he's seen the mania before (He also handles Blink 182 and others). I have a yellow TSURT bag that dates back to either the '09 Backspacer tour or PJ20. The ballpark shows are their own different animal though, with multiple days of sales and expanded offerings. Part of it also probably comes from having to utilize venue people in each different stop, rather than a crew of his own that would already knows what's coming.
I think the majority of people in here are just asking if or when the Wrigley merch announcement (similar to Fenway) will happen. The majority of us are not complaining but traveling and plotting our journey. I am just happy they have merch booths outside the venue and if they have the same allotment similar to Fenway they will easily make $400 of me, so there's that......

I agree that they do this stuff for a living and so they probably thought about every idea we could come up with.
I agree that we should all be respectful. But what I disagree on is that someone the fans who will be paying millions (yes millions) for merchandise aren't allowed to ask in advance how they and when they will be able to spend those millions. I cannot figure out why it is such a sin to expect something in return for the millions of dollars the fans pay. The money isn't going to charity. I agree we should ask respectfully, but it is not a sense of entitlement that makes people ask but a sense of being a PAYING customer that makes us ask.
The daily tweets of merch also helps hype the merch sales, so it is a nice thing that they do that, but it is called advertising.

That guy needs a thicker skin and its readily apparent that he doesnt know what kind of fan base he's dealing with in PJ fans. He should give a call to Santos for some advice.
I'm pretty sure he knows full well the PJ fan base. He's been dealing with the band for years. Pearl Jam isn't his only customer.
I shouldn't be shocked but reading people's responses to what he wrote is asinine, makes me wonder what kind of crap he was taking online prior to his response post. He has a point he doesn't have to do this and for him to say he will reconsider not doing it in the future is sad that some "fans" are acting like entitled children

Sweet, thanks I'll take 27 t-shirts, 4 of each poster, and all the baseball cards you've got. (Actually saw a guy do something similar in Philly 2009; he bought the whole stack of large blue t-shirts. It was a ridiculous.)
But seriously, I do think the manufactured rarity of all this junk is what drives some of this. People are already worried they won't get their merch. Why not just make more and cut out the "limited" aspect of all this. I don't care if my poster is worth $400 a year from now, or if it's got a moon rock variant, I just want to you, you know, be able to buy a souvenir from each show I attend. So I can then store it in a tube in my basement forever.
I'm pretty well screwed with Merch at Wrigley since I'm getting in Sunday night late and only going to Monday night. I'll get the scraps, but that's fine. Can't wait for the show.
The band and its management have successfully turned merchandise sales into a lucrative and booming enterprise. They did this intentionally and with a plan. Their marketing is brilliant. They roll out one shiny thing after another and we all race to open our wallets. I have no problem with this. I am a willing consumer in the market. But at the end of the day we are customers and customers do have a right to know when sales will begin, where sales will be held, and when sales will end. Eager customers are a good problem for any company to have.

Wow... !!!!! Saw John Doe in Denver a while back... this is on my radar now..thanks

I was looking forward to just seeing everything & deciding which few things I'll go for.

I'm a lucky man to count on both hands the ones I love.
