That's right America ... you got a choice a lovely choice

What I find amusing about the whole thing is you're on a PJ board....a band that's completely left, "radical". Hence, most of the people here are - and people are surprised by this?

It's like when people go to their shows and are like, "can you BELIEVE this liberal bullshit?!" Why, yes, yes, I can...I'm at a Pearl Jam show.

So you have to be a left wing liberal to enjoy this bands music or participate in political discussions on this board ... thats quite a stretch.
I'm liberal but I don't call every democrat good and there are some republicans who are sane in some issues like Michael Steele and I even like Gary Johnson ffs. I just don't like it when people like pjfan are so one sided and ignorant that they don't see beyond their partisan hackery. Common rational thinking and sense is all I ask for. I get as much crap from Bernie hating Hillary fans as I do him. They're two sides of the same party before country coin.

And I respectfully ask if it's possible to please ease up on these Hitler references? It's insulting to those who were directly affected by him in a really, truly fucking horrific way.

Amazing how shit gets shut down over blowjobs, but heavier shit? Nope. And I really don't want anything to be shut down, but consistency would be refreshing.

Couldn't the argument be made that failing to identify him as the dangerous demagogue he clearly is would be a bigger insult to the victims of the terrible despots of the 20th century?
I agree. I actually feel like the Hitler comparisons are apt in this specific case. If the comparisons were ridiculous I would agree with you Hedo, but they aren't. Trump really is doing and saying some things that parallel Hitler's ideas and propaganda tactics, and I think that is important to point out and remind people of.
This is insane. You are officially radlib.

I wonder if Jim Halpert gave Trump some advice on his speech....

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uusO0avni9w

Come on, please tell me I wasn't the only one thinking of this while watching that monstrosity last night

Jim: You know I majored in Public Speaking in College.
    Dwight: You did?
Jim: Mmmhmm. And the first thing they teach you is that you've got to be true to your self. And you are all about authority.
    Dwight: Yes. I am.
Jim: The great speakers throughout history were not joke tellers. They were people of passion. So if you want to do well today, you got to do what they did.
    Dwight: Which is?
Jim: You've got to wave your arms and you've got to pound your fists. Many times. It's supposed to emphasize your point.

    So Trump really said this?
“I think that the guy is lazy. And it’s probably not his fault because laziness is a trait in blacks. It really is; I believe that. It’s not anything they can control.”

    No he didn't.
It was reported that he did but there is no proof.

That's not the quote pjsoul is referencing.
Yeah I just realized that. I was reading about all the black things he said and ended up reading too many articles. But anyway it's at least another thing he has been accused of that there is no proof.
Trump himself said it was "probably true" in a later interview. Why do you support this guy?
He is made out to be this monster. Hitler referencing? cmon that's just stupid
He is one guy. He will not transform your country or the world for that matter and lace it with gold trimming (but that would be cool though).
He gives a big middle finger to the establishment insiders that many liberals love to rage against publicly and he can't be stopped. This is leadership.
He speaks about all races equally which makes many squirm. So be it.
A change with him in the whitehouse are a sign of the times. Either America has an evil underbelly or they know who to laugh at themselves. Maybe politics really are a joke and Trump knows this too.

    I'm all out of treats!
good answer. i guess you just know everything. typical radical left know-it-all mentality.

i didnt know liberals could get so angry.

What makes you think anyone is angry?
I'm not angry. I'm thrilled trump is the nominee. No chance he will win. And that's what counts.
So you wouldn't prefer 2 nominees exchanging valid ideas on how to possibly shape the countries future ... instead of the 2 you got.
    What are you talking about?

Wouldn't you rather have viable candidates for president ... what don't you understand.
I didn't understand the way you worded it.

To answer your question, yes. But our options are certainly limited. My vote isn't going to a Democrat or a republican. Again.
Then I think your a smart voter ... to me if you are going to vote at least vote for someone worthy ... a Clinton or Trump presidency likely would not impact most Americans...I just don't trust either one.

No I'm not, not even close, and I think it is really dirty of you to absolutely refuse to tell us what qualifies as a "radlib" in your mind when asked but then turn around and call me that, especially when it's so far from accurate.

Are you capable of actual discussion btw? If you are, tell me why you think this is insane. I think there are true parallels between some of Hitler's political views and tactics and Trump's because of the whole banning Muslims and getting all Muslims registered in a database. This is literally the same way Hitler started in on the Jews in the 1930s. Also because of the propaganda tactics that the Trump is employing in his campaign. They are pretty much identical to those that Hitler employed during his rise to power. He played on people's fear and anger and specifically encouraged discrimination towards specific groups of people, all in the name of making the country great again. He is also the same as Hilter in the way he presents himself as the ultimate and only leader, and as though he can just do whatever he wants when he's in office (he can't of course, but that is how he speaks of himself and for some reason people appear to think it's somehow possible).

So obviously I've given my specific reasons as to why I think the comparison of Trump to Hitler is reasonable, none of which suggest that I am "radlib", and none of which are insane.

It's like history class isnt taught anymore, nobody remembers that the American left used to be full of ACTUAL communists and socialists, union activists and anarchists, they think Obama and Bernie are commies and they clearly lack perspective to those who are informed.
